Isaiah 25

American Standard Version

1O Jehovah, thou art my GodH430; I will exaltH7311 thee, I will praiseH3034 thy nameH8034; for thou hast done wonderful things, even counselsH6098 of old, in faithfulnessH530 and truth. 2For thou hast madeH7760 of a cityH5892 a heapH1530, of a fortifiedH1219 cityH5892 a ruin, a palace of strangersH2114 to be no cityH5892; it shall never be builtH1129. 3ThereforeH3651 shall a strongH5794 peopleH5971 glorifyH3513 thee; a city of terrible nationsH1471 shall fearH3372 thee. 4For thou hast beenH1961 a strongholdH4581 to the poor, a strongholdH4581 to the needyH34 in his distressH6862, a refugeH4268 from the stormH2230, a shadeH6738 from the heat, when the blast of the terrible onesH6184 is as a stormH2230 against the wallH7023. 5As the heat in a dryH6724 place wilt thou bring down the noise of strangersH2114; as the heat by the shadeH6738 of a cloudH5645, the songH2158 of the terrible onesH6184 shall be brought low.

6And in this mountainH2022 will Jehovah of hostsH6635 makeH6213 unto all peoplesH5971 a feastH4960 of fat things, a feastH4960 of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refinedH2212. 7And he will destroy in this mountainH2022 the faceH6440 of the covering that covereth all peoplesH5971, and the veil that is spread over all nationsH1471. 8He hath swallowedH1104 up deathH4194 for ever; and the Lord Jehovah will wipeH4229 awayH5493 tearsH1832 from off all facesH6440; and the reproachH2781 of his peopleH5971 will he take awayH5493 from off all the earthH776: for Jehovah hath spokenH1696 it.

9And it shall be saidH559 in that dayH3117, Lo, this is our GodH430; we have waited for him, and he will saveH3467 us: this is Jehovah; we have waited for him, we will be gladH8055 and rejoiceH8055 in his salvationH3444. 10For in this mountainH2022 will the handH3027 of Jehovah restH5117; and MoabH4124 shall be trodden downH5117 in his placeH8478, even as straw is trodden downH5117 in the water of the dunghill. 11And he shall spreadH6566 forth his handsH3027 in the midstH7130 thereof, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his handsH3027 to swimH7811; but Jehovah will lay lowH8213 his prideH1346 together with the craft of his handsH3027. 12And the high fortressH4013 of thy wallsH2346 hath he brought downH7817, laid lowH8213, and brought to the groundH776, even to the dustH6083.
