Isaiah 14:1-12
1For Jehovah will have compassionH7355 on JacobH3290, and will yetH5750 chooseH977 IsraelH3478, and set them in their own landH127: and the sojournerH1616 shall joinH3867 himself with them, and they shall cleave to the houseH1004 of JacobH3290. 2And the peoplesH5971 shall takeH3947 them, and bringH935 them to their placeH4725; and the houseH1004 of IsraelH3478 shall possessH5157 them in the landH127 of Jehovah for servantsH5650 and for handmaids: and they shall takeH3947 them captiveH7617 whose captivesH7617 they wereH1961; and they shall ruleH7287 over their oppressorsH5065.
3And it shall come to pass in the dayH3117 that Jehovah shall giveH5117 thee restH5117 from thy sorrow, and from thy trouble, and from the hardH7186 serviceH5656 wherein thou wast made to serveH5647, 4that thou shalt takeH5375 up this parableH4912 against the kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and sayH559, HowH349 hath the oppressorH5065 ceased! the golden city ceased! 5Jehovah hath brokenH7665 the staffH4294 of the wickedH7563, the sceptre of the rulersH4910; 6that smote the peoplesH5971 in wrathH5678 with a continual stroke, that ruled the nationsH1471 in angerH639, with a persecution that none restrainedH2820. 7The whole earthH776 is at restH5117, and is quietH8252: they breakH6476 forthH6476 into singing. 8Yea, the fir-trees rejoiceH8055 at thee, and the cedarsH730 of LebanonH3844, saying, Since thou art laidH7901 low, no hewer is comeH5927 up against us. 9SheolH7585 from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy comingH935; it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earthH776; it hath raisedH6965 up from their thronesH3678 all the kingsH4428 of the nationsH1471. 10All they shall answerH6030 and sayH559 unto thee, Art thou alsoH1571 become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? 11Thy pomp is broughtH3381 downH3381 to SheolH7585, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spreadH3331 under thee, and wormsH8438 cover thee.
12HowH349 art thou fallenH5307 from heavenH8064, O day-star, sonH1121 of the morning! howH349 art thou cutH1438 down to the groundH776, that didst lay low the nationsH1471!
