36You are alsoG2532to belikeὅμοιοιhomoioiG3664peopleἀνθρώποιςanthrōpoisG444who are waitingπροσδεχομένοιςprosdechomenoisG4327for their masterκύριονkurionG2962whenπότεpoteG4219he returnsἀναλύσῃanalusēG360from the weddingγάμων,gamōnG1062feastG1062,soG2443thatG2443they may immediatelyεὐθέωςeutheōsG2112openἀνοίξωσινanoixōsinG455the doorfor him when he comesἐλθόντοςelthontosG2064and knocksκρούσαντοςkrousantosG2925.

37BlessedμακάριοιmakarioiG3107are thoseἐκεῖνοιekeinoiG1565slavesδοῦλοιdouloiG1401whomοὓςhousG3739the masterκύριοςkuriosG2962will findεὑρήσειheurēseiG2147on the alertγρηγοροῦντας·grēgorountasG1127when he comesἐλθὼνelthōnG2064;trulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you, that he willprepareπεριζώσεταιperizōsetaiG4024himself to serve,and have them reclineἀνακλινεῖanaklineiG347at the table,and he will comeπαρελθὼνparelthōnG3928upG3928and serveδιακονήσειdiakonēseiG1247them.

38WhetherG2579he comesἔλθῃelthēG2064in thesecondδευτέρᾳdeuteraG1208watchφυλακῇphulakēaG5438,orG2579evenG2579in thethirdτρίτῃtritēG5154,and findsεὕρῃheurēG2147themsoοὕτως,houtōsG3779,blessedμακάριοίmakarioiG3107are thoseἐκεῖνοι.¶ekeinoiG1565slaves.

39“Butbe sureγινώσκετεginōsketeG1097of thisΤοῦτοToutoG3778,that ifεἰeiG1487the headG3617ofG3617theG3617houseοἰκοδεσπότηςoikodespotēsG3617had knownG3609at whatποίᾳpoiaG4169hourὥρᾳhōraG5610the thiefκλέπτηςkleptēsG2812was comingἔρχεται,erchetaiG2064,he would not have allowedἀφῆκενaphēkenG863his houseοἶκονoikonG3624to bebrokenδιορυχθῆναιdioruchthēnaiG1358into.

40You tooκαὶkaiG2532,be readyἕτοιμοι,hetoimoiG2092;becauseὅτιhotiG3754the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444is comingἔρχεται.¶erchetaiG2064at an hourὥρᾳhōraG5610that you do not thinkδοκεῖτεdokeiteG1380He will.”

41PeterΠέτρος·PetrosG4074saidG3004, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962,are You tellingG3004thisταύτηνtautēnG3778parableπαραβολὴνparabolēnG3850to us, orἢēG2228to everyoneπάντας;pantasG3956elseasG2532wellG2532?”

42Andthe Lordκύριος·kuriosG2962saidG3004, “WhoτίςtisG5101thenἄραaraG686is the faithfulπιστὸςpistosG4103and sensibleφρόνιμοςphronimosG5429stewardοἰκονόμοςoikonomosG3623,whomὃνhonG3739his masterκύριοςkuriosG2962will putG2525inG2525chargeG2525of his servantsθεραπείαςtherapeiasG2322,to giveδιδόναιdidonaiG1325them their rationsσιτομέτριον;sitometrionG4620at the properG2540timeG2540?

43BlessedμακάριοςmakariosG3107is thatslaveδοῦλοςdoulosG1401whomὃνhonG3739hismasterκύριοςkuriosG2962findsεὑρήσειheurēseiG2147soοὕτως.houtōsG3779doingποιοῦνταpoiountaG4160when he comesἐλθὼνelthōnG2064.

44TrulyἀληθῶςalēthōsG230I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you that he will putG2525him inG2525chargeG2525of allπᾶσινpasinG3956his possessionsὑπάρχουσινhuparchousinG5225.

45But ifἘὰνEanG1437that slaveδοῦλοςdoulosG1401saysG3004in his heartκαρδίᾳkardiaG2588, ‘My masterκύριόςkuriosG2962will takeG5549aG5549longG5549timeG5549to comeἔρχεσθαι,erchesthaiG2064,’and he beginsἄρξηταιarxētaiG757to beatτύπτεινtupteinG5180the otherslavesG3814 G3816, bothmenG3816and womenG3814,and to eatἐσθίεινesthieinG2068and drinkπίνεινpineinG4095and getG3182drunkμεθύσκεσθαι,methuskesthaiG3182;

46thenthe masterκύριοςkuriosG2962of that slaveδούλουdoulouG1401will comeἥξειhēxeiG2240on a dayἡμέρᾳhēmeraG2250that he does not expectπροσδοκᾷprosdokaG4328,and at an hourὥρᾳhōraG5610that he does not knowγινώσκειginōskeiG1097, and willcutδιχοτομήσειdichotomēseiG1371him inG1371twoG1371,and assignθήσει.¶thēseiG5087him a placeμέροςmerosG3313with the unbelieversἀπίστωνapistōnG571.

47And that slaveδοῦλοςdoulosG1401who knewγνοὺςgnousG1097his master’sκυρίουkuriouG2962willG2307and did not getG2090readyG2090orἢēG2228actποιήσαςpoiēsasG4160in accordanceπρὸςprosG4314with his willG2307,willG2307receiveG1194manyπολλάς.pollasG4183blowsG1194,

48but the one who did notknowγνοὺςgnousG1097it,and committedποιήσαςpoiēsasG4160acts deservingἄξιαaxiaG514ofa beatingπληγῶνplēgōnG4127,will receiveG1194onlya fewὀλίγας.oligasG3641blowsG1194.From everyoneπαντὶpantiG3956whoᾧhōG3739has been givenἐδόθηedothēG1325muchπολύ,poluG4183,muchπολὺpoluG4183will be demandedζητηθήσεταιzētēthēsetaiG2212;and to whomᾧhōG3739they entrustedπαρέθεντοparethentoG3908muchπολύ,poluG4183,of him they will askαἰτήσουσινaitēsousinG154allG4055theG4055moreπερισσότερονperissoteronG4055.
