14They cameἐλθόντεςelthontesG2064and saidλέγουσινlegousinG3004to Him, “Teacherδιδάσκαλε,didaskaleG1320,we knowG3609that You are truthfulἀληθὴςalēthēsG227anddeferμέλειmeleiG3199to noG3762oneοὐδενός·oudenosG3762;for You are not partialβλέπεις πρόσωπονblepeis prosōponG991 G4383to anyἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnG444,but teachδιδάσκεις.didaskeisG1321the wayὁδὸνhodonG3598of GodθεοῦtheouG2316in truthἀληθείαςalētheiasG225. 15Shall we payδῶμενdōmenG1325orἢēG2228shall we not payδῶμεν;¶dōmenG1325?”But He, knowingG3609their hypocrisyὑπόκρισινhupokrisinG5272,saidG3004to them,“WhyτίtiG5101are you testingπειράζετε;peirazeteG3985Me? BringφέρετέphereteG5342Me adenariusδηνάριονdēnarionG1220to lookG3708at.”

16They broughtἤνεγκαν.ēnegkanG5342one.And He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them,“WhoseτίνοςtinosG5101likenessεἰκὼνeikōnG1504and inscriptionἐπιγραφή;epigraphēG1923is thisαὕτηhautēG3778?”And they saidG3004to Him, “Caesar’sΚαίσαρος.KaisarosG2541.”

17And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to them, “RenderἀπόδοτεapodoteG591to CaesarΚαίσαροςKaisarosG2541the things that are Caesar’sΚαίσαριKaisariG2541,and to GodθεοῦtheouG2316the things that are God’sθεῷ.theōG2316.” And theywere amazedG1569at Him.

18SomeSadduceesΣαδδουκαῖοιSaddoukaioiG4523(whoοἵτινεςoitinesG3748sayλέγουσινlegousinG3004that there is noμὴmēG3361resurrectionἀνάστασινanastasinG386)cameἔρχονταιerchontaiG2064to Jesus, and beganquestioningἐπηρώτωνepērōtōnG1905Him, sayingλέγοντες·legontesG3004,

21The secondδεύτεροςdeuterosG1208oneG1208marriedἔλαβενelabenG2983her, and diedἀπέθανενapethanenG599leavingG2641behindG2641noμὴmēG3361childrenσπέρμαspermaG4690;and the thirdτρίτοςtritosG5154likewiseὡσαύτως·hōsautōsG5615;

22and soallG3588sevenἑπτὰheptaG2033leftἀφῆκανaphēkanG863noοὐκoukG3756childrenσπέρμα.spermaG4690.LastἔσχατονeschatonG2078of allπάντωνpantōnG3956the womanγυνὴgunēG1135diedἀπέθανεν.apethanenG599alsoG2532.

23In the resurrectionἀναστάσειanastaseiG386,whenὅτανhotanG3752they riseἀναστῶσινanastōsinG450againG450,whichτίνοςtinosG5101one’sG846wifeG1135will she be? ForallG3588sevenἑπτὰheptaG2033hadἔσχονeschonG2192married her.”

24JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidἔφηephēG5346to them,“Is thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778not the reasonδιὰdiaG1223you are mistakenπλανᾶσθεplanastheG4105, that you do notunderstandG3609the ScripturesγραφὰςgraphasG1124orμηδὲmēdeG3366the powerδύναμινdunaminG1411of Godθεοῦ;theouG2316?

25For whenὅτανhotanG3752they riseἀναστῶσιν,anastōsinG450from the deadνεκρῶνnekrōnG3498,they neitherοὔτεouteG3777marryγαμοῦσινgamousinG1060norοὔτεouteG3777are givenG1061in marriageγαμίζονταιgamizontaiG1061,but are likeὡςhōsG5613angelsἄγγελοιangeloiG32in heavenοὐρανοῖς.ouranoisG3772.

28OneεἷςheisG1520of the scribesγραμματέων,grammateōnG1122cameπροσελθὼνproselthōnG4334and heardἀκούσαςakousasG191them arguingσυζητούντων,suzētountōnG4802, andrecognizingG3708that He had answeredἀπεκρίθηapekrithēG611them wellκαλῶςkalōsG2573,askedἐπηρώτησενepērōtēsenG1905Him, “WhatποίαpoiaG4169commandmentἐντολὴentolēG1785is theforemostπρώτηprōtēG4413of allπάντων;pantōnG3956?”

29JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424answeredἀπεκρίθηapekrithēG611,“The foremostπρώτηprōtēG4413is, ‘HearἄκουεakoueG191,O IsraelἸσραήλ,IsraēlG2474!The LordκύριοςkuriosG2962our GodθεὸςtheosG2316is oneεἷςheisG1520LordκύριοςkuriosG2962;

30and you shall loveἀγαπήσειςagapēseisG25the LordκύριονkurionG2962your GodθεόνtheonG2316with allὅληςholēsG3650your heartκαρδίαςkardiasG2588,and with allὅληςholēsG3650your soulψυχῆςpsuchēsG5590,and with allὅληςholēsG3650your mindδιανοίαςdianoiasG1271,and with allὅληςholēsG3650your strengthἰσχύοςischuosG2479.’
