Deuteronomy 9:13-29

13And Jehovah spoke unto me, sayingH559, I have seenH7200 this peopleH5971, and behold, it is a stiff-necked peopleH5971. 14Let me alone, that I may destroyH8045 them, and blot out their nameH8034 from under heavenH8064; and I will makeH6213 of thee a nationH1471 mightierH6099 and greaterH7227 than they. 15And I turnedH6437 and cameH3381 downH3381 from the mountainH2022, and the mountainH2022 burnedH1197 with fireH784; and the twoH8147 tables of the covenantH1285 were in my twoH8147 handsH3027. 16And I sawH7200, and behold, ye had sinnedH2398 against Jehovah your 1GodH430: ye had madeH6213 for yourselves a molten calfH5695; ye had quicklyH4118 turnedH5493 asideH5493 from the wayH1870 which Jehovah had commandedH6680 you. 17And I seizedH8610 the twoH8147 tables, and castH7993 them out of my twoH8147 handsH3027, and brokeH7665 them before your eyesH5869. 18And I fellH5307 downH5307 before Jehovah, as at the firstH7223, fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915, — I ateH398 no breadH3899 and drankH8354 no waterH4325, — because of all your sinH2398 which ye had sinnedH2398, in doing what is evilH7451 in the eyesH5869 of Jehovah, to provokeH3707 him to angerH3707. 19For I was afraidH3025 of the angerH639 and fury wherewith Jehovah was wroth against you to destroyH8045 you. And Jehovah listenedH8085 unto me alsoH1571 at that timeH6471. 20And with AaronH175 Jehovah was veryH3966 angryH599 to destroyH8045 him; and I prayedH6419 for AaronH175 alsoH1571 at the same timeH6256. 21And I tookH3947 your sinH2403, the calfH5695 which ye had madeH6213, and burnedH8313 it with fireH784, and crushedH3807 it, and ground it very small, until it became fineH1854 dustH6083; and I castH7993 the dustH6083 thereof into the brook that flowed downH3381 from the mountainH2022. 22And at TaberahH8404, and at MassahH4532, and at Kibroth-hattaavahH6914, ye provoked Jehovah to wrath. 23And whenH834 Jehovah sentH7971 you from Kadesh-barneaH6947, sayingH559, GoH5927 up and takeH3423 possessionH3423 of the landH776 which I have givenH5414 you, ye rebelledH4784 against the word of Jehovah your 2GodH430, and ye believedH539 him not, nor hearkened to his voiceH6963. 24Ye have beenH1961 rebelliousH4784 against Jehovah from the dayH3117 that I knewH3045 you. 25So I fellH5307 downH5307 before Jehovah the fortyH705 daysH3117 and fortyH705 nightsH3915, as I fellH5307 downH5307; for Jehovah had saidH559 he would destroyH8045 you. 26I prayedH6419 therefore to Jehovah, and saidH559, Lord Jehovah, destroyH7843 not thy peopleH5971 and thine inheritanceH5159, which thou hast redeemedH6299 through thy greatnessH1433, which thou hast broughtH3318 forthH3318 out of EgyptH4714 with a powerful handH3027. 27RememberH2142 thy servantsH5650 AbrahamH85, IsaacH3327, and JacobH3290; look not at the stubbornness of this peopleH5971, nor at their wickednessH7562, nor at their sinH2403; 28lestH6435 the landH776 whence thou broughtest us out sayH559, Because Jehovah was not ableH3201 to bringH935 them into the landH776 which he had promised them, and because he hated them, he hath broughtH935 them out to killH4191 them in the wildernessH4057. 29They are indeed thy peopleH5971 and thine inheritanceH5159, which thou broughtest out with thy greatH1419 power and with thy stretched-outH5186 armH2220.
