Obey God and Prosper

1“Now thisH2088 is the commandmentH4687, the statutesH2706 and the judgmentsH4941 whichH834 the LordH3068 your GodH430 has commandedH6680 me to teachH3925 you, that you might doH6213 them in the landH776 whereH834H8033 you are goingH5674 overH5674 to possessH3423 it, 2soH4616 that you and your sonH1121 and your grandsonH1121 might 1fearH3372 the LordH3068 your GodH430, to keepH8104 allH3605 His statutesH2708 and His commandmentsH4687 whichH834 I commandH6680 you, 2allH3605 the daysH3117 of your lifeH2425, and that your daysH3117 may be prolongedH748. 3O IsraelH3478, you should listenH8085 and 3be carefulH8104 to doH6213 it, that 4it may be wellH3190 with you and that you may multiplyH7235 greatlyH3966, justH3512 as the LordH3068, the GodH430 of your fathersH1, has promisedH1696 you, in 5a landH776 flowingH2100 with milkH2461 and honeyH1706.

4“6HearH8085, O IsraelH3478! The LordH3068 is our GodH430, the 7LordH3068 is oneH259! 58You shall loveH157 the LordH3068 your GodH430 9with allH3605 your heartH3824 and with allH3605 your soulH5315 and with allH3605 your mightH3966. 610TheseH428 wordsH1697, whichH834 I am commandingH6680 you todayH3117, shall be on your heartH3824. 711You shall teachH8150 them diligentlyH8150 to your sonsH1121 and shall talkH1696 of them when you sitH3427 in your houseH1004 and when you walkH1980 by the wayH1870 and when you lieH7901 downH7901 and when you riseH6965 up. 812You shall bindH7194 them as a signH226 on your handH3027 and they shall be as 13frontalsH2903 14on your foreheadH996H5869. 915You shall writeH3789 them on the doorpostsH4201 of your houseH1004 and on your gatesH8179.

10“Then it shall comeH1961 about whenH3588 the LordH3068 your GodH430 bringsH935 you into the landH776 whichH834 He sworeH7650 to your fathersH1, AbrahamH85, IsaacH3327 and JacobH3290, to giveH5414 you, 16greatH1419 and splendidH2896 citiesH5892 whichH834 you did not buildH1129, 11and housesH1004 fullH4392 of allH3605 goodH2898 thingsH2898 whichH834 you did not fillH4390, and hewnH2672 cisternsH953 whichH834 you did not digH2672, vineyardsH3754 and oliveH2132 treesH2132 whichH834 you did not plantH5193, and 17you eatH398 and are satisfiedH7646, 12then watchH8104 yourself, that 18you do not forgetH7911 the LordH3068 whoH834 broughtH3318 you from the landH776 of EgyptH4714, out of the houseH1004 of 19slaveryH5650. 1320You shall 21fearH3372 only the LordH3068 your GodH430; and you shall 22worshipH5647 Him and 23swearH7650 by His nameH8034. 1424You shall not followH1980H310 otherH312 godsH430, anyH312 of the godsH430 of the peoplesH5971 whoH834 surroundH5439 you, 15for the LordH3068 your GodH430 in the midstH7130 of you is a 25jealousH7067 GodH410; otherwiseH6435 the angerH639 of the LordH3068 your GodH430 will be kindledH2734 against you, and He will 26wipeH8045 you offH4480H5921 the faceH6440 of the earthH127.

16“27You shall not putH5254 the LordH3068 your GodH430 to the testH5254, 28as you testedH5254 Him at MassahH4532. 1729You should diligentlyH8104 keepH8104 the commandmentsH4687 of the LordH3068 your GodH430, and His testimoniesH5713 and His statutesH2706 whichH834 He has commandedH6680 you. 18You shall doH6213 what is rightH3477 and goodH2896 in the sightH5869 of the LordH3068, that 30it may be wellH3190 with you and that you may goH935 in and possessH3423 the goodH2896 landH776 whichH834 the LordH3068 sworeH7650 to give your fathersH1, 19by drivingH1920 out allH3605 your enemiesH340 from beforeH6440 you, as the LordH3068 has spokenH1696.

20“31WhenH3588 your sonH1121 asksH7592 you in timeH4279 to comeH4279, sayingH559, ‘WhatH4100 do the testimoniesH5713 and the statutesH2706 and the judgmentsH4941 mean whichH834 the LordH3068 our GodH430 commandedH6680 you?’ 21then you shall sayH559 to your sonH1121, ‘We were slavesH5650 to PharaohH6547 in EgyptH4714, and the LordH3068 broughtH3318 us from EgyptH4714 with a mightyH2389 handH3027. 22Moreover, the LordH3068 showedH5414 greatH1419 and distressingH7451 signsH226 and wondersH4159 before our eyesH5869 against EgyptH4714, PharaohH6547 and allH3605 his householdH1004; 23He broughtH3318 us out from thereH8033 in orderH4616 to bringH935 us in, to giveH5414 us the landH776 whichH834 He had swornH7650 to our fathersH1.’ 24So the LordH3068 commandedH6680 us to observeH6213 allH3605 theseH428 statutesH2706, 32to fearH3372 the LordH3068 our GodH430 for our goodH2896 alwaysH3605H3117 and 33for our survivalH2421, as it is todayH3117. 2534It will be righteousnessH6666 for us ifH3588 we 35are carefulH8104 to observeH6213 allH3605 thisH2088 commandmentH4687 beforeH6440 the LordH3068 our GodH430, justH3512 as He commandedH6680 us.
