For they are a perverse H8419 generation ד֤וֹר Dor H1755 , Children בָּנִ֖ים ba.Nim H1121 in whom is no faithfulness . 21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is no God אֵ֔ל 'El H410 ; They have exasperated me with their vanities בְּהַבְלֵיהֶ֑ם be.hav.lei.Hem H1892 ; And I will move them to jealousy with that which is not a people עָ֔ם 'Am H5971 ; With a foolish נָבָ֖ל na.Val H5036 nation בְּג֥וֹי be.Goy H1471 will I provoke H3707 them to anger H3707 . 22 For a fire אֵשׁ֙ 'esh H784 is kindled in mine anger בְאַפִּ֔י ve.'a.Pi H639 , And it shall burn H3344 into the lowest Sheol שְׁא֣וֹל she.'ol H7585 , And shall consume H398 the earth אֶ֙רֶץ֙ 'e.retz H776 and its produce וִֽיבֻלָ֔הּ vi.vu.Lah H2981 , And set וַתְּלַהֵ֖ט va.te.la.Het H3857 fire H784 to the foundations H4146 of the mountains הָרִֽים׃ ha.Rim H2022 . 23 I will heap mischiefs upon them ; Mine arrows חִצַּ֖י chi.Tzai H2671 will I spend against them . 24 They shall be consumed with hunger H7458 , and devoured with burning heat , And with poisonous pestilence; And the teeth H8127 of beasts will I send אֲשַׁלַּח־ 'a.sha.lach- H7971 against them , With the poison of what crawleth in the dust עָפָֽר׃ 'a.Far H6083 . 26 I would say H559 , I will scatter, I will make the remembrance H2143 of them to cease אַשְׁבִּ֥יתָה 'ash.Bi.tah H7673 from among men , 27 If I did not fear provocation from the enemy אוֹיֵב֙ 'o.Yev H341 , Lest פֶּֽן־ pen- H6435 their adversaries should misunderstand it , Lest פֶּן־ pen- H6435 they should say יֹֽאמְרוּ֙ yo.me.Ru H559 , Our hand יָדֵ֣ינוּ ya.Dei.nu H3027 is high H7311 , and Jehovah has not done all this . 28 For they are a nation ג֛וֹי Goy H1471 void of counsel עֵצ֖וֹת e.Tzot H6098 , And understanding תְּבוּנָֽה׃ te.vu.Nah H8394 is not in them . 29 Oh that they had been wise חָכְמ֖וּ cha.khe.Mu H2449 ! they would have understood יָבִ֖ינוּ ya.Vi.nu H995 this , They would have considered their latter H319 end לְאַחֲרִיתָֽם׃ le.'a.cha.ri.Tam H319 ! 30 How אֵיכָ֞ה 'ei.Khah H349 could one אֶחָד֙ 'e.Chad H259 chase a thousand אֶ֔לֶף 'E.lef H505 , And two וּשְׁנַ֖יִם u.she.Na.yim H8147 put ten רְבָבָ֑ה re.va.Vah H7233 thousand H505 to flight , Were it not that their Rock צוּרָ֣ם tzu.Ram H6697 had sold H4376 them , And Jehovah had delivered הִסְגִּירָֽם׃ his.gi.Ram H5462 them up ? 31 For their rock כְצוּרֵ֖נוּ khe.tzu.Re.nu H6697 is not as our Rock צוּרָ֑ם tzu.Ram H6697 : Let our enemies וְאֹיְבֵ֖ינוּ ve.'o.ye.Vei.nu H341 themselves be judges . 32 For their vine מִגֶּ֤פֶן mi.Ge.fen H1612 is of the vine גַּפְנָ֔ם gaf.Nam H1612 of Sodom סְדֹם֙ se.Dom H5467 , And of the fields וּמִשַּׁדְמֹ֖ת u.mi.shad.Mot H7709 of Gomorrah עֲמֹרָ֑ה 'a.mo.Rah H6017 : Their grapes are grapes of poison ר֔וֹשׁ Ro.osh H7219 , Bitter מְרֹרֹ֖ת me.ro.Rot H4846 are their clusters אַשְׁכְּלֹ֥ת 'ash.ke.Lot H811 ; 33 Their wine יֵינָ֑ם yei.Nam H3196 is the poison וְרֹ֥אשׁ ve.Rosh H7219 of dragons, And the cruel אַכְזָֽר׃ 'akh.Zar H393 venom חֲמַ֥ת cha.Mat H2534 of vipers. 34 Is not this hidden with me , Sealed חָתֻ֖ם cha.Tum H2856 up among my treasures H214 ? 35 Vengeance נָקָם֙ na.Kam H5359 is mine, and recompense, For the time לְעֵ֖ת le.'Et H6256 when their foot רַגְלָ֑ם rag.Lam H7272 shall slip תָּמ֣וּט ta.Mut H4131 . For the day י֣וֹם Yom H3117 of their calamity H343 is at hand , And the things that shall come upon them make haste. 36 For Jehovah will judge יָדִ֤ין ya.Din H1777 his people עַמּ֔וֹ a.Mo H5971 , And shall repent H5162 in favour of his servants עֲבָדָ֖יו 'a.va.Dav H5650 ; When he seeth that power is gone , And there is none shut עָצ֥וּר 'a.Tzur H6113 up or left H5800 . 37 And he shall say וְאָמַ֖ר ve.'a.Mar H559 , Where אֵ֣י 'ei H335 are their gods אֱלֹהֵ֑ימוֹ 'e.lo.Hei.mov H430 , Their rock צ֖וּר tzur H6697 in whom they trusted, 38 Who ate H398 the fat חֵ֤לֶב Che.lev H2459 of their sacrifices H2077 , [ And ] drank יִשְׁתּ֖וּ yish.Tu H8354 the wine יֵ֣ין yein H3196 of their drink-offering?
