Deuteronomy 3

1Then we turnedH6437, and wentH3318 up the wayH1870 to BashanH1316: and OgH5747 the kingH4428 of BashanH1316 cameH3318 out against us, he and all his peopleH5971, unto battleH4421 at EdreiH154. 2And Jehovah saidH559 unto me, FearH3372 him not; for I have delivered him, and all his peopleH5971, and his landH776, into thy handH3027; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto SihonH5511 kingH4428 of the AmoritesH567, who dweltH3427 at HeshbonH2809. 3So Jehovah our GodH430 delivered into our handH3027 OgH5747 alsoH1571, the kingH4428 of BashanH1316, and all his peopleH5971: and we smote him until none was leftH7604 to him remainingH7604. 4And we tookH3947 all his citiesH5892 at that timeH6256; there wasH1961 not a cityH5892 which we tookH3947 not from them; threescore citiesH5892, all the region of Argob, the kingdomH4467 of OgH5747 in BashanH1316. 5All these were citiesH5892 fortifiedH1219 with highH1364 wallsH2346, gates, and barsH1280; besides the unwalled towns a great manyH7235. 6And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto SihonH5511 kingH4428 of HeshbonH2809, utterly destroying every inhabited cityH5892, with the womenH802 and the littleH2945 onesH2945. 7But all the cattleH929, and the spoilH7998 of the citiesH5892, we tookH962 for a prey unto ourselves. 8And we tookH3947 the landH776 at that timeH6256 out of the handH3027 of the twoH8147 kingsH4428 of the AmoritesH567 that were beyond the JordanH3383, from the valley of the ArnonH769 unto mount HermonH2768 9(which HermonH2768 the SidoniansH6722 callH7121 SirionH8303, and the AmoritesH567 callH7121 it SenirH8149); 10all the citiesH5892 of the plainH4334, and all GileadH1568, and all BashanH1316, unto SalecahH5548 and EdreiH154, citiesH5892 of the kingdomH4467 of OgH5747 in BashanH1316. 11(For onlyH7535 OgH5747 kingH4428 of BashanH1316 remainedH7604 of the remnantH7604 of the RephaimH7497; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of ironH1270; is it not in RabbahH7237 of the children of AmmonH5983? nineH8672 cubitsH520 was the lengthH753 thereof, and fourH702 cubitsH520 the breadthH7341 of it, after the cubitH520 of a manH376.)

12And this landH776 we tookH3423 in possessionH3423 at that timeH6256: from AroerH6177, which is by the valley of the ArnonH769, and halfH2677 the hill-country of GileadH1568, and the citiesH5892 thereof, gaveH5414 I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites: 13and the restH3499 of GileadH1568, and all BashanH1316, the kingdomH4467 of OgH5747, gaveH5414 I unto the half-tribe of ManassehH4519; all the region of Argob, even all BashanH1316. (The same is calledH7121 the landH776 of RephaimH7497. 14JairH2971 the sonH1121 of ManassehH4519 tookH3947 all the region of Argob, unto the borderH1366 of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and calledH7121 them, even BashanH1316, after his own nameH8034, Havvoth-jairH2334, unto this dayH3117.) 15And I gaveH5414 GileadH1568 unto Machir. 16And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gaveH5414 from GileadH1568 even unto the valley of the ArnonH769, the middleH8432 of the valley, and the borderH1366 thereof, even unto the river JabbokH2999, which is the borderH1366 of the children of AmmonH5983; 17the ArabahH6160 also, and the JordanH3383 and the borderH1366 thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the seaH3220 of the ArabahH6160, the SaltH4417 SeaH3220, under the slopes of PisgahH6449 eastward.

18And I commandedH6680 you at that timeH6256, sayingH559, Jehovah your GodH430 hath givenH5414 you this landH776 to possessH3423 it: ye shall passH5674 over armedH2502 before your brethren the children of IsraelH3478, all the men of valor. 19But your wivesH802, and your littleH2945 onesH2945, and your cattle (I knowH3045 that ye have muchH7227 cattle), shall abide in your citiesH5892 which I have givenH5414 you, 20until Jehovah giveH5414 restH5117 unto your brethren, as unto you, and they alsoH1571 possessH3423 the landH776 which Jehovah your GodH430 giveth them beyond the JordanH3383: then shall ye returnH7725 every manH376 unto his possessionH3423, which I have givenH5414 you. 21And I commandedH6680 JoshuaH3091 at that timeH6256, sayingH559, Thine eyesH5869 have seenH7200 all that Jehovah your GodH430 hath done unto these twoH8147 kingsH4428: soH3651 shall Jehovah do unto all the kingdomsH4467 whither thou goest over. 22Ye shall not fearH3372 them; for Jehovah your GodH430, he it is that fighteth for you.

23And I besought Jehovah at that timeH6256, sayingH559, 24O LordH136 Jehovah, thou hast begunH2490 to showH7200 thy servantH5650 thy greatnessH1433, and thy strongH2389 handH3027: for what godH410 is there in heavenH8064 or in earthH776, that can do according to thy worksH4639, and according to thy mightyH2389 actsH6213? 25Let me go over, I pray thee, and seeH7200 the goodH2896 landH776 that is beyond the JordanH3383, that goodly mountainH2022, and LebanonH3844. 26But Jehovah was wroth with me for your sakes, and hearkened not unto me; and Jehovah saidH559 unto me, Let it suffice thee; speakH1696 no more unto me of this matterH1697. 27Get thee up unto the topH7218 of PisgahH6449, and liftH5375 up thine eyesH5869 westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold with thine eyesH5869: for thou shalt not goH5927 over this JordanH3383. 28But charge JoshuaH3091, and encourageH2388 him, and strengthenH2388 him; for he shall go over before this peopleH5971, and he shall cause them to inheritH5157 the landH776 which thou shalt seeH7200. 29So we abode in the valleyH1516 over against Beth-peorH1047.
