2 Corinthians 8

1Moreover, brethren, we makeG1107 known to you the graceG5485 of GodG2316 which hath been givenG1325 in the churchesG1577 of MacedoniaG3109; 2how that in muchG4183 proofG1382 of afflictionG2347 the abundanceG4052 of their joyG5479 and their deepG899 povertyG4432 aboundedG4052 unto the richesG4149 of their liberality. 3For accordingG2596 to their powerG1411, I bearG3140 witnessG3140, yea and beyond their powerG1411, they gave of their own accord, 4beseeching us with muchG4183 entreaty in regard of this graceG5485 and the fellowshipG2842 in the ministering to the saintsG40: 5and this, not as we had hopedG1679, but firstG4413 they gaveG1325 their ownG1438 selves to the LordG2962, and to us through the will of GodG2316. 6Insomuch that we exhortedG3870 TitusG5103, that as he had made a beginning before, so he would alsoG2532 completeG2005 in you this graceG5485 alsoG2532. 7But as ye aboundG4052 in everythingG3956, in faithG4102, and utterance, and knowledgeG1108, and in all earnestnessG4710, and in your loveG26 to us, see that ye aboundG4052 in this graceG5485 alsoG2532. 8I speakG3004 not by way of commandmentG2003, but as proving through the earnestnessG4710 of othersG2087 the sincerity alsoG2532 of your loveG26. 9For ye knowG1097 the graceG5485 of our LordG2962 JesusG2424 ChristG5547, that, though he wasG1510 richG4145, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his povertyG4432 might become richG4145. 10And herein I giveG1325 my judgmentG1106: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to makeG4160 a beginning a yearG4070 ago, not onlyG3440 to do, but alsoG2532 to will. 11But nowG1161 completeG2005 the doing alsoG2532; that as there was the readinessG4288 to willG2309, so there may be the completion alsoG2532 out of your ability. 12For if the readinessG4288 is there, it is acceptableG2144 according as a man hath, not according as he hath not. 13For I say not this that othersG243 may be eased and ye distressed; 14but by equality: your abundance being a supply at this presentG3568 timeG2540 for their want, that their abundance alsoG2532 may becomeG1096 a supply for your want; that there may be equality: 15as it is writtenG1125, He that gathered muchG4183 had nothing over; and he that gathered littleG3641 had no lack.

16But thanksG5485 be to GodG2316, who putteth the sameG846 earnest care for you into the heartG2588 of TitusG5103. 17For he acceptedG1209 indeedG3303 our exhortationG3874; but being himself very earnestG4705, he wentG1831 forthG1831 unto you of his own accord. 18And we have sent together with him the brotherG80 whose praiseG1868 in the gospelG2098 is spread through all the churchesG1577; 19and not onlyG3440 so, but who was alsoG2532 appointed by the churchesG1577 to travel with us in the matter of this graceG5485, which is ministeredG1247 by us to the gloryG1391 of the LordG2962, and to show our readinessG4288: 20avoiding this, that any manG3778 should blame us in the matter of this bounty which is ministeredG1247 by us: 21for we take thought for things honorable, not onlyG3440 in the sight of the LordG2962, but alsoG2532 in the sight of menG444. 22And we have sent with them our brotherG80, whom we have manyG4183 times proved earnestG4705 in manyG4183 thingsG4183, but nowG1161 muchG4183 moreG4183 earnestG4705, by reason of the greatG4183 confidenceG4006 which he hath in you. 23Whether any inquire about TitusG5103, he is my partnerG2844 and my fellow-worker to you-ward; or our brethren, they are the messengersG652 of the churchesG1577, they are the gloryG1391 of ChristG5547. 24ShowG1731 ye thereforeG3767 unto them in the faceG4383 of the churchesG1577 the proof of your loveG26, and of our glorying on your behalfG5228.
