Chronicles 34:8-28
And in the eighteenth yearH8141 of his reignH4427, when he purged the landH776 and the houseH1004, he sentH7971 ShaphanH8227 the sonH1121 of AzaliahH683, and MaaseiahH4641 the governor of the cityH5892, and JoahH3098 the sonH1121 of Joahaz the chronicler, to repairH2388 the houseH1004 of Jehovah his 1GodH430.
And they cameH935 to Hilkijah the high priestH3548, and they delivered [to them] the moneyH3701 that had been broughtH935 into the houseH1004 of 2GodH430, which the LevitesH3881 that keptH8104 the doors had gatheredH622 of the handH3027 of ManassehH4519 and EphraimH669, and of all the remnantH7611 of IsraelH3478, and of all JudahH3063 and BenjaminH1144, and of the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389.
And they gaveH5414 [it] into the handH3027 of them that did the workH4399, that had the oversight of the houseH1004 of Jehovah; and they gaveH5414 it to the workmen who wrought in the houseH1004 of Jehovah to reinstate and repairH2388 the houseH1004:
they gaveH5414 [it] to the carpenters and the buildersH1129, to buyH7069 hewn stoneH68, and timber for the joists, and to floor the housesH1004 that the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063 had destroyedH7843.
And the menH376 did the workH4399 faithfully. And over them were appointedH6485 JahathH3189 and ObadiahH5662, LevitesH3881, of the children of MerariH4847, and ZechariahH2148 and MeshullamH4918, of the children of the KohathitesH6956, for the oversight; and all these LevitesH3881 were skilledH995 in instrumentsH3627 of music.
They were also over the bearers of burdens, and were overseers of all that workedH4399 in any manner of serviceH5656. And of the LevitesH3881 were the scribesH5608, and officersH7860, and doorkeepers.
And when they broughtH935 out the moneyH3701 that had been broughtH935 into the houseH1004 of Jehovah, Hilkijah the priestH3548 foundH4672 the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 of Jehovah by MosesH4872.
Then Hilkijah spoke and saidH559 to ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, I have foundH4672 the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 in the houseH1004 of Jehovah. And Hilkijah gaveH5414 the bookH5612 to ShaphanH8227.
And ShaphanH8227 carried the bookH5612 to the kingH4428. And moreover he broughtH935 the kingH4428 wordH1697 againH5750 sayingH559, All that was committed to the handH3027 of thy servantsH5650, they do;
and they have emptied out the moneyH3701 that was foundH4672 in the houseH1004 of Jehovah, and have delivered it into the handH3027 of the overseers, and into the handH3027 of the workmen.
And ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608 informed the kingH4428 sayingH559, Hilkijah the priestH3548 has givenH5414 me a bookH5612. And ShaphanH8227 readH7121 out of it before the kingH4428.
And it came to pass when the kingH4428 heardH8085 the wordsH1697 of the lawH8451, that he rent his garmentsH899.
And the kingH4428 commandedH6680 Hilkijah, and AhikamH296 the sonH1121 of ShaphanH8227, and AbdonH5658 the sonH1121 of MicahH4318, and ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, and AsaiahH6222 a servantH5650 of the kingH4428, sayingH559,
Go, inquire of Jehovah for me, and for them that are leftH7604 in IsraelH3478 and in JudahH3063, concerning the wordsH1697 of the bookH5612 which is foundH4672; for greatH1419 is the wrathH2534 of Jehovah that is pouredH5413 out upon us, because our fathersH1 have not keptH8104 the wordH1697 of Jehovah, to do according to all that is writtenH3789 in this bookH5612.
And Hilkijah and they that the kingH4428 [had appointed] went to HuldahH2468 the prophetessH5031, the wifeH802 of ShallumH7967 the sonH1121 of Tokehath, sonH1121 of Hasrah, keeperH8104 of the wardrobe: now she dweltH3427 in JerusalemH3389 in the secondH4932 quarter [of the town]; and they spokeH1696 with her to that effect.
And she saidH559 to them, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah the 3GodH430 of IsraelH3478: Tell the manH376 that sentH7971 you to me,
ThusH3541 saith Jehovah: Behold, I will bringH935 evilH7451 upon this placeH4725, and upon the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, all the cursesH423 that are writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 which they have readH7121 before the kingH4428 of JudahH3063.
Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incenseH6999 unto otherH312 4godsH430, that they might provokeH3707 me to angerH3707 with all the worksH4639 of their handsH3027; therefore my fury shall be pouredH5413 out upon this placeH4725, and shall not be quenchedH3518.
But to the kingH4428 of JudahH3063, who sentH7971 you to inquire of Jehovah, thusH3541 shall ye sayH559 to him: ThusH3541 saith Jehovah the 5GodH430 of IsraelH3478 touching the wordsH1697 which thou hast heardH8085:
Because thy heartH3824 was tender, and thou didst humbleH3665 thyself before 6GodH430, when thou heardest his wordsH1697 against this placeH4725 and against the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy garmentsH899 and weepH1058 before me, I alsoH1571 have heardH8085 [thee], saith Jehovah.
Behold, I will gatherH622 thee unto thy fathersH1, and thou shalt be gatheredH622 to thy graveH6913 in peaceH7965; and thine eyesH5869 shall not seeH7200 all the evilH7451 that I will bringH935 upon this placeH4725, and upon the inhabitantsH3427 thereof. And they broughtH935 the kingH4428 wordH1697 again.
