Chronicles 34:8-28

Now in the eighteenthH6240 yearH8141 of his reignH4427, when he had purgedH2891 the landH776, and the houseH1004, he sentH7971 ShaphanH8227 the sonH1121 of AzaliahH683, and MaaseiahH4641 the governorH8269 of the cityH5892, and JoahH3098 the sonH1121 of JoahazH3099 the recorderH2142, to repairH2388 the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 his GodH430.

And they cameH935 to HilkiahH2518 the highH1419 priestH3548, and deliveredH5414 the moneyH3701 that was broughtH935 intoH413 the houseH1004 of GodH430, whichH834 the LevitesH3881, the keepersH8104 of the door, had gatheredH622 of the handH3027 of ManassehH4519 and EphraimH669, and of allH3605 the remnantH7611 of IsraelH3478, and of allH3605 JudahH3063 and BenjaminH1144, and of the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389.

And they deliveredH5414 it intoH5921 the handH3027 of the workmenH4399 that had the oversightH6485 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068; and the workmenH4399 that wrought in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 gaveH5414 it to amend and repairH2388 the houseH1004;

evenH853 to the carpentersH2796 and to the buildersH1129 gaveH5414 they it, to buyH7069 hewnH4274 stoneH68, and timberH6086 for couplingsH4226, and to makeH5414 beamsH6086 for the housesH1004 whichH834 the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063 had destroyedH7843.

And the menH376 didH6213 the workH4399 faithfullyH530: and the overseersH6485 of them were JahathH3189 and ObadiahH5662, the LevitesH3881, of the sonsH1121 of MerariH4847; and ZechariahH2148 and MeshullamH4918, of the sonsH1121 of the KohathitesH6956, to setH6213 it forward: and otherH3605 of the LevitesH3881, allH3605 that couldH376 skill of instrumentsH3627 of musicH7892.

Also they were over the bearersH5449 of burdens, and setH6213 forward allH3605 that didH6213 the workH4399 in everyH3605 manner of serviceH5656: and of the LevitesH3881 there were scribesH5608, and officersH7860, and porters.

And when they broughtH935 outH3318 the moneyH3701 that was broughtH935 intoH935 the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548 foundH4672 the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 of the LORDH3068 givenH3027 by MosesH4872.

And HilkiahH2518 answeredH559 and saidH559 to ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, I have foundH4672 the bookH5612 of the lawH8451 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068. And HilkiahH2518 deliveredH5414 the bookH5612 to ShaphanH8227.

And ShaphanH8227 carriedH935 the bookH5612 to the kingH4428, and moreoverH5750 broughtH935 the kingH4428 wordH1697 againH5750, sayingH559, AllH3605 that was committedH6213 to thy servantsH5650, they doH6213 it.

And they have emptiedH5413 outH5921 the moneyH3701 that was foundH4672 in the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068, and have deliveredH5414 it intoH5921 the handH3027 of the overseersH6485, and intoH5921 the handH3027 of the workmenH4399.

And ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608 toldH5046 the kingH4428, sayingH559, HilkiahH2518 the priestH3548 hath deliveredH5414 meH5414 a bookH5612. And ShaphanH8227 readH7121 therein beforeH6440 the kingH4428.

And it cameH1961 to passH1961, when the kingH4428 had heardH8085 the wordsH1697 of the lawH8451, that he rent his clothesH899.

And the kingH4428 commandedH6680 HilkiahH2518, and AhikamH296 the sonH1121 of ShaphanH8227, and AbdonH5658 the sonH1121 of MicahH4318, and ShaphanH8227 the scribeH5608, and AsaiahH6222 the king’sH4428 servantH5650, sayingH559,

Go ye, inquireH1875 of the LORDH3068 for meH5921, and for them that are leftH7604 in IsraelH3478 and in JudahH3063, concerning the wordsH1697 of the bookH5612 that is foundH4672: for greatH1419 is the wrathH2534 of the LORDH3068 that is pouredH5413 outH5921 uponH5921 usH5921, becauseH3588 our fathersH1 have notH3808 keptH8104 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, to doH6213 accordingH5921 unto allH3605 that is writtenH3789 in this bookH5612.

SoH834 HilkiahH2518, and they whomH834 the kingH4428 had commandedH1696, wentH413 to HuldahH2468 the prophetessH5031, the wifeH802 of ShallumH7967 the sonH1121 of TokhathH8445, the sonH1121 of HasrahH2641, keeperH8104 of the wardrobe; (nowH1696 sheH1931 dweltH3427 in JerusalemH3389 in the secondH4932 quarter;) and they spake to herH413 to that effect.

And sheH834 saidH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: tellH559 ye the manH376 that sentH7971 youH834 unto meH413,

ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, BeholdH2005, I will bringH935 evilH7451 uponH5921 this placeH4725, and uponH5921 the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, evenH853 allH3605 the cursesH423 that are writtenH3789 in the bookH5612 whichH834 they have readH7121 beforeH6440 the kingH4428 of JudahH3063:

BecauseH834 they have forsaken meH3707, and have burnedH6999 incenseH6999 unto otherH312 godsH430, that they might provokeH3707 meH3707 to angerH3707 with allH3605 the worksH4639 of their handsH3027; therefore is my wrathH2534 pouredH5413 outH3605 uponH3027 this placeH4725, and it shall notH3808 be quenchedH3518.

But unto the kingH4428 of JudahH3063, who sentH7971 youH834 to inquireH1875 of the LORDH3068, thusH3541 shall ye sayH559 to him, ThusH3541 saith the LORDH3068, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: As touching the wordsH1697 whichH834 thou hast heardH8085,

becauseH5921 thine heartH3824 was tenderH7401, and thou didst humbleH3665 thyself beforeH6440 GodH430, when thou heardest his wordsH1697 againstH5921 this placeH4725, and againstH5921 the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, and hast humbledH3665 thyself beforeH6440 meH6440, and hast rent thy clothesH899, and weptH1058 beforeH6440 meH6440; I also have heardH8085 thee, saith the LORDH3068.

BeholdH2005, I will gatherH622 thee to thy fathersH1, and thou shalt be gatheredH622 to thy graveH6913 in peaceH7965, neitherH3808 shall thine eyesH5869 seeH7200 allH3605 the evilH7451 that I will bringH935 uponH5921 this placeH4725, and uponH5921 the inhabitantsH3427 thereof. And they broughtH935 the kingH4428 wordH1697 againH7725.
