Matthew 26:52-75
52ThenG5119 saith JesusG2424 unto him, Put up again thy swordG3162 into its placeG5117: for all they that takeG2983 the swordG3162 shall perishG622 with the swordG3162. 53Or thinkest thou that I cannot beseech my FatherG3962, and he shall evenG2532 now send me moreG4183 than twelveG1427 legionsG3003 of angelsG32? 54HowG4459 thenG3767 should the scripturesG1124 be fulfilled, that thus it must be? 55In that hourG5610 saidG3004 JesusG2424 to the multitudesG3793, Are ye comeG1831 out as against a robberG3027 with swordsG3162 and staves to seizeG2902 me? I sat daily in the temple teachingG1321, and ye tookG2902 me not. 56But all this is comeG1096 to passG1096, that the scripturesG1124 of the prophetsG4396 might be fulfilled. ThenG5119 all the disciplesG3101 leftG863 him, and fledG5343.
57And they that had taken JesusG2424 ledG520 him awayG520 to the house of CaiaphasG2533 the highG749 priestG749, whereG3699 the scribesG1122 and the eldersG4245 were gatheredG4863 togetherG4863. 58But PeterG4074 followedG190 him afar off, unto the courtG833 of the highG749 priestG749, and enteredG1525 in, and satG2521 with the officersG5257, to seeG3708 the endG5056. 59NowG1161 the chiefG749 priestsG749 and the wholeG3650 councilG4892 soughtG2212 false witness against JesusG2424, that they might putG2289 him to deathG2289; 60and they foundG2147 it not, though manyG4183 false witnesses cameG4334. But afterward cameG4334 twoG1417, 61and saidG3004, This manG3778 saidG3004, I am ableG1410 to destroyG2647 the templeG3485 of GodG2316, and to buildG3618 it in threeG5140 daysG2250. 62And the highG749 priestG749 stoodG450 up, and saidG3004 unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 63But JesusG2424 held his peace. And the highG749 priestG749 saidG3004 unto him, I adjure thee by the livingG2198 GodG2316, that thou tellG3004 us whether thou art the ChristG5547, the SonG5207 of GodG2316. 64JesusG2424 saith unto him, Thou hast saidG3004: neverthelessG4133 I sayG3004 unto you, Henceforth ye shall seeG3708 the SonG5207 of manG444 sittingG2521 at the rightG1188 handG1188 of PowerG1411, and comingG2064 on the cloudsG3507 of heavenG3772. 65ThenG5119 the highG749 priestG749 rent his garmentsG2440, sayingG3004, He hath spoken blasphemyG988: what further needG5532 have we of witnessesG3144? beholdG2396, nowG3568 ye have heardG191 the blasphemyG988: 66what thinkG1380 ye? They answeredG611 and saidG3004, He isG1510 worthy of deathG2288. 67Then did they spitG1716 in his faceG4383 and buffet him: and some smote him with the palms of their hands, 68sayingG3004, ProphesyG4395 unto us, thou ChristG5547: who isG1510 he that struck thee?
69NowG1161 PeterG4074 wasG1510 sittingG2521 without in the courtG833: and a maid cameG4334 unto him, sayingG3004, Thou alsoG2532 wast with JesusG2424 the Galilæan. 70But he deniedG720 before them all, sayingG3004, I know not what thou sayest. 71And when he wasG1510 goneG1831 out into the porch, another maid sawG3708 him, and saith unto them that wereG1510 there, This manG3778 alsoG2532 wasG1510 with JesusG2424 of NazarethG3480. 72And againG3825 he deniedG720 with an oathG3727, I know not the manG444. 73And after a littleG3398 while they that stoodG2476 by cameG4334 and saidG3004 to PeterG4074, Of a truth thou alsoG2532 art oneG3588 of them; for thy speech maketh thee known. 74Then beganG757 he to curse and to swearG3660, I know not the manG444. And straightway the cock crew. 75And PeterG4074 rememberedG3403 the word which JesusG2424 had saidG3004, Before the cock crowG5455, thou shalt denyG533 me thrice. And he wentG1831 out, and weptG2799 bitterlyG4090.
