John 13:1-30
1NowG1161 before the feastG1859 of the passoverG3957, JesusG2424 knowing that his hourG5610 was comeG2064 that he should departG3327 out of this worldG2889 unto the FatherG3962, having lovedG25 his ownG2398 that were in the worldG2889, he lovedG25 them unto the endG5056. 2And during supperG1173, the devilG1228 having alreadyG2235 putG906 into the heartG2588 of JudasG2455 IscariotG2469, Simon’s son, to betrayG3860 him, 3Jesus, knowing that the FatherG3962 had givenG1325 all thingsG3956 into his handsG5495, and that he cameG1831 forthG1831 from GodG2316, and goeth unto GodG2316, 4riseth from supperG1173, and layeth aside his garmentsG2440; and he tookG2983 a towelG3012, and girdedG1241 himself. 5Then he poureth waterG5204 into the basin, and beganG757 to washG3538 the disciples’G3101 feetG4228, and to wipe them with the towelG3012 wherewith he wasG1510 girdedG1241. 6So he cometh to SimonG4613 PeterG4074. He saith unto him, LordG2962, dost thou washG3538 my feetG4228? 7JesusG2424 answeredG611 and saidG3004 unto him, What I do thou knowest not nowG1161; but thou shalt understandG1097 hereafter. 8PeterG4074 saith unto him, Thou shalt never washG3538 my feetG4228. JesusG2424 answeredG611 him, If I washG3538 thee not, thou hast no partG3313 with me. 9SimonG4613 PeterG4074 saith unto him, LordG2962, not my feetG4228 onlyG3440, but alsoG2532 my handsG5495 and my headG2776. 10JesusG2424 saith to him, He that isG1510 bathed needeth not save to washG3538 his feetG4228, but isG1510 cleanG2513 every whit: and ye areG1510 cleanG2513, but not all. 11For he knew him that should betrayG3860 him; therefore saidG3004 he, Ye areG1510 not all cleanG2513.
12So whenG3753 he had washedG3538 their feetG4228, and takenG2983 his garmentsG2440, and sat downG377 againG3825, he saidG3004 unto them, KnowG1097 ye what I have done to you? 13Ye call me, TeacherG1320, and, LordG2962: and ye sayG3004 wellG2573; for so I amG1510. 14If I then, the LordG2962 and the TeacherG1320, have washedG3538 your feetG4228, ye alsoG2532 oughtG3784 to washG3538 oneG240 another’s feetG4228. 15For I have givenG1325 you an exampleG5262, that ye alsoG2532 should do as I have done to you. 16Verily, verily, I sayG3004 unto you, A servantG1401 isG1510 not greaterG3173 than his lordG2962; neither oneG3588 that isG1510 sentG3992 greaterG3173 than he that sentG3992 him. 17If ye know these thingsG3778, blessed areG1510 ye if ye do them. 18I speakG3004 not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scriptureG1124 may be fulfilled, He that eateth my breadG740 liftedG1869 up his heel against me. 19From henceforth I tellG3004 you before it comeG1096 to passG1096, that, whenG3752 it isG1510 comeG1096 to passG1096, ye may believeG4100 that I amG1510 he. 20Verily, verily, I sayG3004 unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I sendG3992 receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sentG3992 me.
21When JesusG2424 had thus saidG3004, he was troubledG5015 in the spiritG4151, and testifiedG3140, and saidG3004, Verily, verily, I sayG3004 unto you, that oneG1520 of you shall betrayG3860 me. 22The disciplesG3101 looked oneG240 on another, doubting of whom he spake. 23There wasG1510 at the table reclining in Jesus’G2424 bosomG2859 oneG1520 of his disciplesG3101, whom JesusG2424 lovedG25. 24SimonG4613 PeterG4074 thereforeG3767 beckoneth to him, and saith unto him, TellG3004 us who it isG1510 of whom he speaketh. 25He leaning back, as he wasG1510, on Jesus’G2424 breastG4738 saith unto him, LordG2962, who isG1510 it? 26JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 answereth, He it isG1510, for whom I shall dipG911 the sop, and giveG1325 it him. So when he had dippedG911 the sop, he taketh and giveth it to JudasG2455, the son of SimonG4613 IscariotG2469. 27And after the sop, then enteredG1525 SatanG4567 into him. JesusG2424 thereforeG3767 saith unto him, What thou doest, do quickly. 28NowG1161 no manG3778 at the table knewG1097 for what intent he spake this unto him. 29For some thoughtG1380, because JudasG2455 had the bag, that JesusG2424 saidG3004 unto him, BuyG59 what thingsG3739 we have needG5532 of for the feastG1859; or, that he should giveG1325 somethingG5100 to the poorG4434. 30He thenG3767 having receivedG2983 the sop wentG1831 out straightway: and it wasG1510 nightG3571.
