Isaiah 40:12-26
12Who hath measuredH4058 the watersH4325 in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heavenH8064 with the spanH2239, and comprehended the dustH6083 of the earthH776 in a measureH4058, and weighedH8254 the mountainsH2022 in scales, and the hillsH1389 in a balanceH6425? 13Who hath directed the SpiritH7307 of Jehovah, or being his counsellor hath taught him? 14With whom took he counselH3289, and who instructed him, and taughtH3925 him in the pathH734 of justiceH4941, and taughtH3925 him knowledgeH1847, and showed to him the wayH1870 of understandingH8394? 15Behold, the nationsH1471 are as a drop of a bucket, and are accountedH2803 as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing. 16And LebanonH3844 is not sufficient to burnH1197, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt-offering. 17All the nationsH1471 are as nothingH369 before him; they are accountedH2803 by him as less than nothingH369, and vanity.
18To whom then will ye likenH1819 GodH410? or what likenessH1823 will ye compare unto him? 19The imageH6459, a workman hath cast it, and the goldsmithH6884 overlayeth it with goldH2091, and casteth for it silverH3701 chains. 20He that is too impoverished for such an oblation chooseth a treeH6086 that will not rotH7537; he seeketh unto him a skilful workman to set up a graven imageH6459, that shall not be moved. 21Have ye not knownH3045? have ye not heardH8085? hath it not been toldH5046 you from the beginning? have ye not understoodH995 from the foundationsH4146 of the earthH776? 22It is he that sitteth above the circleH2329 of the earthH776, and the inhabitantsH3427 thereof are as grasshoppersH2284; that stretcheth out the heavensH8064 as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tentH168 to dwellH3427 in; 23that bringeth princes to nothingH369; that maketh the judgesH8199 of the earthH776 as vanity. 24Yea, they have not been plantedH5193; yea, they have not been sownH2232; yea, their stock hath not takenH5375 rootH8327 in the earthH776: moreover he bloweth upon them, and they witherH3001, and the whirlwind taketh them awayH5375 as stubbleH7179. 25To whom then will ye likenH1819 me, that I should be equal to him? saith the HolyH6918 OneH6918. 26LiftH5375 up your eyesH5869 on highH4791, and seeH7200 who hath createdH1254 these, that bringeth out their hostH6635 by numberH4557; he calleth them all by nameH8034; by the greatnessH7230 of his might, and for that he is strong in powerH3581, not oneH376 is lacking.
