Isaiah 14:9-31
9SheolH7585 from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy comingH935; it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earthH776; it hath raisedH6965 up from their thronesH3678 all the kingsH4428 of the nationsH1471. 10All they shall answerH6030 and sayH559 unto thee, Art thou alsoH1571 become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? 11Thy pomp is broughtH3381 downH3381 to SheolH7585, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spreadH3331 under thee, and wormsH8438 cover thee.
12HowH349 art thou fallenH5307 from heavenH8064, O day-star, sonH1121 of the morning! howH349 art thou cutH1438 down to the groundH776, that didst lay low the nationsH1471! 13And thou saidst in thy heartH3824, I will ascend into heavenH8064, I will exaltH7311 my throneH3678 above the starsH3556 of GodH410; and I will sitH3427 upon the mount of congregation, in the uttermost partsH3411 of the northH6828; 14I will ascend above the heights of the cloudsH5645; I will make myself like the Most HighH1116. 15Yet thou shalt be broughtH3381 downH3381 to SheolH7585, to the uttermost partsH3411 of the pitH953. 16They that seeH7200 thee shall gaze at thee, they shall considerH7200 thee, saying, Is this the manH376 that made the earthH776 to trembleH7264, that did shakeH7493 kingdomsH4467; 17that madeH7760 the worldH8398 as a wildernessH4057, and overthrew the citiesH5892 thereof; that let not loose his prisonersH615 to their home? 18All the kingsH4428 of the nationsH1471, all of them, sleep in gloryH3519, every oneH376 in his own houseH1004. 19But thou art castH7993 forth awayH7993 from thy sepulchre like an abominable branchH5342, clothed with the slainH2026, that are thrust through with the swordH2719, that goH3381 down to the stonesH68 of the pitH953; as a dead body troddenH947 under foot. 20Thou shalt not be joined with them in burialH6900, because thou hast destroyedH7843 thy landH776, thou hast slainH2026 thy peopleH5971; the seedH2233 of evil-doers shall not be named for everH5769.
21PrepareH3559 ye slaughter for his children for the iniquityH5771 of their fathersH1, that they riseH6965 not up, and possessH3423 the earthH776, and fillH4390 the faceH6440 of the worldH8398 with citiesH5892. 22And I will riseH6965 up against them, saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, and cutH3772 off from BabylonH894 nameH8034 and remnantH7605, and son and son’s son, saith Jehovah. 23I will also makeH7760 it a possession for the porcupine, and poolsH98 of waterH4325: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith Jehovah of hostsH6635.
24Jehovah of hostsH6635 hath swornH7650, sayingH559, Surely, as I have thought, soH3651 shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, soH3651 shall it standH6965: 25that I will breakH7665 the Assyrian in my landH776, and upon my mountainsH2022 treadH947 him under foot: then shall his yokeH5923 departH5493 from off them, and his burdenH5448 departH5493 from off their shoulderH7926. 26This is the purposeH6098 that is purposed upon the whole earthH776; and this is the handH3027 that is stretchedH5186 out upon all the nationsH1471. 27For Jehovah of hostsH6635 hath purposed, and who shall annulH6565 it? and his handH3027 is stretchedH5186 out, and who shall turnH7725 it backH7725?
28In the yearH8141 that kingH4428 AhazH271 died wasH1961 this burdenH4853.
29RejoiceH8055 not, O PhilistiaH6429, all of thee, because the rodH7626 that smote thee is brokenH7665; for out of the serpent’s rootH8328 shall comeH3318 forthH3318 an adder, and his fruitH6529 shall be a fiery flying serpent. 30And the first-born of the poor shall feedH7462, and the needyH34 shall lieH7257 down in safety; and I will killH2026 thy rootH8328 with famineH7458, and thy remnantH7611 shall be slainH2026. 31Howl, O gateH8179; cryH2199, O cityH5892; thou art meltedH4127 awayH4127, O PhilistiaH6429, all of thee; for there cometh a smokeH6227 out of the northH6828, and there is no straggler in his ranks.
