13NowδὲdeG1161when JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424heardἈκούσαςAkousasG191about John,He withdrewἀνεχώρησενanechōrēsenG402fromG1564thereG1564in a boatπλοίῳploiōG4143to a secludedἔρημονerēmonG2048placeτόπονtoponG5117by Himselfἰδίαν.idianG2398; and when thepeopleὄχλοιochloiG3793heardἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191about this,they followedἠκολούθησανēkolouthēsanG190Him on footπεζῇpezēaG3979from the citiesπόλεων.poleōnG4172.

14When He cameG1831ashoreG1831, HesawG3708a largeπολὺνpolunG4183crowdὄχλονochlonG3793,and feltG4697compassionἐσπλαγχνίσθηesplagchnisthēG4697for them andhealedἐθεράπευσενetherapeusenG2323their sickἀρρώστουςarrōstousG732.

15Now when it was eveningὈψίαςOpsiasG3798,the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101cameπροσῆλθονprosēlthonG4334to Him and saidλέγοντες·legontesG3004, “ThisG3588placeτόπος,toposG5117is secludedἔρημόςerēmosG2048and the hourὥραhōraG5610is alreadyἤδηēdēG2235pastπαρῆλθεν·parēlthenG3928to eat;sendG630the crowdsὄχλουςochlousG3793awayG630,soG2443thatG2443they may goἀπελθόντεςapelthontesG565into the villagesκώμαςkōmasG2968and buyἀγοράσωσινagorasōsinG59foodβρώματα.¶brōmataG1033for themselvesἑαυτοῖςhe'autoisG1438.”

16But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to them,“They do not needχρείανchreianG5532to goἀπελθεῖν·apeltheinG565;you giveδότεdoteG1325them somethingto eatG2068!”

17They saidλέγουσινlegousinG3004to Him, “We haveἔχομενechomenG2192nothingοὐκoukG3756hereὧδεhōdeG5602exceptεἰ μὴei mēG1487 G3361fiveπέντεpenteG4002loavesἄρτουςartousG740and twoδύοduoG1417fishἰχθύας.ichthuasG2486.”

18And He saidG3004,“BringφέρετέphereteG5342them hereὧδεhōdeG5602to Me.”

19And orderingκελεύσαςkeleusasG2753the crowdsὄχλουςochlousG3793tositG347downG347on the grassχόρτου,chortouG5528,He tookλαβὼνlabōnG2983the fiveπέντεpenteG4002loavesἄρτουςartousG740and the twoδύοduoG1417fishἰχθύας,ichthuasG2486,and lookedἀναβλέψαςanablepsasG308upG308towardεἰςeisG1519heavenοὐρανὸνouranonG3772. Heblessedεὐλόγησεν,eulogēsenG2127the foodand breakingκλάσαςklasasG2806the loavesἄρτους,artousG740,He gaveἔδωκενedōkenG1325them to the disciplesμαθηταῖςmathētaisG3101,and the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101gave themto the crowdsὄχλοις.ochloisG3793.

20And they allπάντεςpantesG3956ateG2068and were satisfiedἐχορτάσθησαν·echortasthēsanG5526,and they pickedG142upG142whatG3588was leftG4052overG4052of the brokenG2801piecesG2801:twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427fullπλήρεις.plēreisG4134basketsκοφίνουςkophinousG2894.

21There were aboutὡσεὶhōseiG5616fiveπεντακισχίλιοιpentakischilioiG4000thousandG4000menἄνδρεςandresG435who ateἐσθίοντεςesthiontesG2068,besidesχωρὶςchōrisG5565womenγυναικῶνgunaikōnG1135and childrenπαιδίων.¶paidiōnG3813.

22ImmediatelyεὐθέωςeutheōsG2112afterwardHe compelledἠνάγκασενēnagkasenG315the disciplesμαθητὰςmathētasG3101to getἐμβῆναιembēnaiG1684into the boatπλοῖονploionG4143and to goπροάγεινproageinG4254aheadG4254of Him to the otherπέρανperanG4008sideG4008,whileἕωςhe'ōsG2193He sentG630the crowdsὄχλους.¶ochlousG3793awayG630.

23After He had sentG630the crowdsὄχλουςochlousG3793awayG630,He wentG305upG305on the mountainὄροςorosG3735by HimselfἰδίανidianG2398to prayπροσεύξασθαι.¶proseuxasthaiG4336;and when it was eveningὈψίαςOpsiasG3798,He was thereἐκεῖ.ekeiG1563aloneμόνοςmonosG3441.

24But the boatπλοῖονploionG4143was alreadyἤδηēdēG2235a longπολλοὺςpollousG4183distanceσταδίουςstadiousG4712from the landγῆςgēsG1093,batteredβασανιζόμενονbasanizomenonG928by the wavesκυμάτων·kumatōnG2949;for the windἄνεμος.anemosG417wascontraryἐναντίοςenantiosG1727.

25And in thefourthτετάρτῃtetartēG5067watchφυλακῇphulakēaG5438of the nightνυκτὸςnuktosG3571He cameἦλθενēlthenG2064to them, walkingπεριπατῶνperipatōnG4043on the seaθάλασσαν.¶thalassanG2281.

26When the disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101sawG3708Him walkingπεριπατοῦνταperipatountaG4043on the seaθαλάσσηςthalassēsG2281,they were terrifiedἐταράχθησανetarachthēsanG5015,and saidλέγοντεςlegontesG3004, “It isa ghostφάντασμάphantasmaG5326!”And they criedG2896outG2896in fearφόβουphobouG5401.

27But immediatelyG2117JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424spokeἐλάλησενelalēsenG2980to them, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “Takeθαρσεῖτε·tharseiteG2293courageG2293, it is I;do not beG5399afraidG5399.”
