27And he cameἦλθενēlthenG2064by the SpiritπνεύματιpneumatiG4151into the templeG2413;and whenG1722the parentsγονεῖςgoneisG1118broughtG1521inG1521the childπαιδίονpaidionG3813JesusἸησοῦνIēsounG2424,to carryG4160outG4160for Him the customεἰθισμένονeithismenonG1480of the LawνόμουnomouG3551,

28thenG2532he tookἐδέξατοedexatoG1209Him in his armsἀγκάλαςagkalasG43,and blessedεὐλόγησενeulogēsenG2127GodθεὸνtheonG2316,and saidG3004,

29“NowνῦνnunG3568,Lordδέσποτα,despotaG1203,You are lettingG630Your bond-servantδοῦλόνdoulonG1401departG630in peaceεἰρήνῃeirēnēG1515,AccordingκατὰkataG2596to Your wordῥῆμάrhēmaG4487;

30For my eyesὀφθαλμοίophthalmoiG3788haveseenG3708Your salvationσωτήριόνsōtērionG4992,

31WhichὃhoG3739You have preparedἡτοίμασαςhētoimasasG2090in the presenceπρόσωπονprosōponG4383of allπάντωνpantōnG3956the peoplesλαῶν,laōnG2992:

32A lightφῶςphōsG5457for revelationἀποκάλυψινapokalupsinG602for the GentilesἐθνῶνethnōnG1484,And the gloryδόξανdoxanG1391of Your peopleλαοῦlaouG2992IsraelἸσραήλ.¶IsraēlG2474.”

33And His fatherπατὴρpatērG3962andmotherμήτηρmētērG3384wereG2296amazedG2296at the things which were being saidλαλουμένοιςlaloumenoisG2980aboutπερὶperiG4012Him.

34And SimeonΣυμεὼνSumeōnG4826blessedεὐλόγησενeulogēsenG2127them and saidG3004toHis motherμητέραmēteraG3384MaryΜαριὰμMariamG3137, “BeholdἰδοὺidouG2400,thisοὗτοςhoutosG3778Childis appointedκεῖταιkeitaiG2749forthe fallπτῶσινptōsinG4431andriseἀνάστασινanastasinG386of manyπολλῶνpollōnG4183in IsraelἸσραὴλIsraēlG2474,and as a signσημεῖονsēmeionG4592to beopposedἀντιλεγόμενον.antilegomenonG483--

35and a swordῥομφαίαrhomphaiaG4501will pierceδιελεύσεταιdieleusetaiG1330your ownαὐτῆςautēsG846soulψυχὴνpsuchēnG5590--toG3704theG3704endG3704thatG3704thoughtsδιαλογισμοί.¶dialogismoiG1261from manyπολλῶνpollōnG4183heartsκαρδιῶνkardiōnG2588may be revealedἀποκαλυφθῶσινapokaluphthōsinG601.”

36And there was aprophetessπροφῆτις,prophētisG4398,AnnaἍνναHannaG451,the daughterθυγάτηρthugatērG2364of PhanuelΦανουήλ,PhanouēlG5323, ofthe tribeφυλῆςphulēsG5443of AsherἈσήρ·AsērG768.She was advancedπροβεβηκυῖαprobebēkuiaG4260inyearsG2250and had livedζήσασαzēsasaG2198with herhusbandἀνδρὸςandrosG435for sevenἑπτὰheptaG2033yearsG2250afterἀπὸapoG575hermarriageπαρθενίαςpartheniasG3932,

37and thenas a widowχήραchēraG5503to the ageἐτῶνetōnG2094of eighty-fourὀγδοήκοντα τεσσάρωνogdoēkonta tessarōnG3589 G5064.She did not leaveἀφίστατοaphistatoG868the templeG2413grounds,servingλατρεύουσαlatreuousaG3000nightνύκταnuktaG3571and dayἡμέραν·hēmeranG2250withfastsνηστείαιςnēsteiaisG3521and prayersδεήσεσινdeēsesinG1162.

38And at that veryG846momentὥρᾳhōraG5610she cameἐπιστᾶσαepistasaG2186upG2186and begangivingG437thanksG437to GodθεῷtheōG2316,and continued to speakἐλάλειelaleiG2980aboutπερὶperiG4012Him to allπᾶσινpasinG3956thoseG3588who werelookingG4327forwardG4327toG4327the redemptionλύτρωσινlutrōsinG3085of JerusalemἸερουσαλήμ.¶IerousalēmG2419.

39And whenὡςhōsG5613His parentshad completedἐτέλεσανetelesanG5055everythingπάνταpantaG3956inG2596accordanceG2596withG2596the LawνόμονnomonG3551of the Lordκυρίου,kuriouG2962,they returnedἐπέστρεψανepestrepsanG1994to GalileeΓαλιλαίανGalilaianG1056, totheir ownἑαυτῶνhe'autōnG1438cityπόλινpolinG4172of NazarethΝαζαρέθ.¶NazarethG3478.
