22The nextἐπαύριονepaurionG1887dayG1887the crowdὄχλοςochlosG3793that stoodἑστηκὼςhestēkōsG2476on the otherπέρανperanG4008sideG4008of the seaθαλάσσηςthalassēsG2281sawG3708that there was noG3756otherἄλλοalloG243smallG4142boatπλοιάριονploiarionG4142thereἐκεῖekeiG1563exceptG1508oneἓνhenG1520,and that JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424had not gottenG4897intoG4897the boatπλοῖονploionG4143withG4897His disciplesμαθηταῖςmathētaisG3101, but thatHis disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101had departedἀπῆλθον·apēlthonG565aloneμόνοιmonoiG3441.

23OtherἄλλαallaG243smallG4142boatsπλοιάριαploiariaG4142cameἦλθενēlthenG2064fromTiberiasΤιβεριάδοςTiberiadosG5085nearἐγγὺςengusG1451to the placeτόπουtopouG5117whereὅπουhopouG3699they ateG2068the breadἄρτονartonG740after theLordκυρίου.kuriouG2962had givenG2168thanksεὐχαριστήσαντοςeucharistēsantosG2168.

24SoοὖνounG3767whenὅτεhoteG3753the crowdὄχλοςochlosG3793sawG3708that JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424was not thereἐκεῖekeiG1563,norοὐδὲoudeG3761His disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101,they themselvesG846gotἐνέβησανenebēsanG1684into the smallG4142boatsπλοιάριαploiariaG4142andcameἦλθονēlthonG2064to CapernaumG2746,lookingG2212forG2212JesusἸησοῦν,IēsounG2424.

25And whenπότεpoteG4219they foundεὑρόντεςheurontesG2147Him on the otherπέρανperanG4008sideG4008of the seaθαλάσσηςthalassēsG2281,they saidG3004to Him, “Rabbiῥαββί,rhabbiG4461,whenG4219did You getγέγονας;¶gegonasG1096hereὧδεhōdeG5602?”

26JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424answeredἈπεκρίθηApekrithēG611them and saidλέγωlegōG3004,“TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281,trulyἀμὴνamēnG281,I sayG3004to you, youseekζητεῖτέzēteiteG2212Me, not becauseὅτιhotiG3754you sawG3708signsσημεῖα,sēmeiaG4592,but becauseὅτιhotiG3754you ateG2068someG1537ofG1537the loavesἄρτωνartōnG740and were filledἐχορτάσθητε.echortasthēteG5526.

27Do notworkἐργάζεσθεergazestheG2038for the foodβρῶσινbrōsinG1035that perishesἀπολλυμένηνapollumenēnG622,but for the foodβρῶσινbrōsinG1035that lastsμένουσανmenousanG3306foreternalαἰώνιονaiōnionG166lifeζωὴνzōēnG2222,whichἣνhēnG3739the SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444will giveδώσει·dōseiG1325you, for onG4972Him the FatherπατὴρpatērG3962,Godθεός.theosG2316,has setG4972HissealἐσφράγισενesphragisenG4972.”

28ThereforeοὖνounG3767they saidG3004to Him, “WhatτίtiG5101are we to doποιῶμενpoiōmenG4160,soG2443thatG2443we may accomplishἐργαζώμεθαergazōmethaG2038the worksἔργαergaG2041of Godθεοῦ;¶theouG2316?”

29JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424answeredἈπεκρίθηApekrithēG611and saidG3004to them,“ThisτοῦτόtoutoG3778isthe workἔργονergonG2041of GodθεοῦtheouG2316,that you believeπιστεύητεpisteuēteG4100in Him whomὃνhonG3739Hehas sentἀπέστειλενapesteilenG649.”

30SoοὖνounG3767they saidG3004to Him, “WhatτίtiG5101thenοὖνounG3767are You doingποιεῖςpoieisG4160as asignσημεῖονsēmeionG4592,soG2443thatG2443we may seeG3708,and believeπιστεύσωμένpisteusōmenG4100You? WhatτίtiG5101workἐργάζῃ;ergazēG2038are You performingG2038?

31Our fathersπατέρεςpateresG3962ateG2068the mannaμάνναmannaG3131in the wildernessἐρήμῳerēmōG2048;as it is writtenγεγραμμένον·gegrammenonG1125: ‘He gaveἔδωκενedōkenG1325them breadἄρτονartonG740out of heavenοὐρανοῦouranouG3772to eatG2068.’”

32JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424thenοὖνounG3767saidλέγωlegōG3004to them,“TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281,trulyἀμὴνamēnG281,I sayG3004to you, it is not MosesΜωϋσῆςMōusēsG3475who has givenδέδωκενdedōkenG1325you the breadἄρτονartonG740out of heavenοὐρανοῦ,ouranouG3772,but it is My FatherπατήρpatērG3962who givesδίδωσινdidōsinG1325you the trueἀληθινόν.alēthinonG228breadἄρτονartonG740out of heavenοὐρανοῦouranouG3772.

33For the breadἄρτοςartosG740of GodθεοῦtheouG2316is that whichcomesG2597downκαταβαίνωνkatabainōnG2597out of heavenοὐρανοῦouranouG3772and givesδιδοὺςdidousG1325lifeζωὴνzōēnG2222to the worldκόσμῳ.¶kosmōG2889.”

34ThenοὖνounG3767they saidG3004to Him, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962,alwaysπάντοτεpantoteG3842giveδὸςdosG1325us thisτοῦτον.¶toutonG3778breadἄρτονartonG740.”

35JesusἸησοῦς·IēsousG2424saidG3004to them, “I amεἰμιeimiG1510the breadἄρτοςartosG740of lifeζωῆς·zōēsG2222;the one who comesἐρχόμενοςerchomenosG2064to Me will not beG3983hungryG3983,and the one who believesπιστεύωνpisteuōnG4100in Mewill neverG3756 G3361beG1372thirstyG1372.

36ButI saidG3004to you that you have indeedG2532seenἑωράκατέhe'ōrakateG3708Me, and yetyou do not believeπιστεύετε.pisteueteG4100.

37EverythingπᾶνpanG3956that the FatherπατὴρpatērG3962givesδίδωσίνdidōsinG1325Me will comeἥξει,hēxeiG2240to Me, and the one who comesἐρχόμενονerchomenonG2064to Me I certainlyοὐ μὴou mēG3756 G3361will not castἐκβάλωekbalōG1544outG1544.

38ForI have comeκαταβέβηκαkatabebēkaG2597downG2597from heavenοὐρανοῦouranouG3772,not to doποιῶpoiōG4160My ownG1699willθέλημαthelēmaG2307, butthe willθέλημαthelēmaG2307of Him whosentπέμψαντόςpempsantosG3992Me.

39And thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778is the willθέλημαthelēmaG2307of Him who sentπέμψαντόςpempsantosG3992Me, that ofeverythingπᾶνpanG3956that He has givenδέδωκένdedōkenG1325Me I willloseἀπολέσωapolesōG622nothingμὴmēG3361, but willraiseἀναστήσωanastēsōG450it upG450on the lastἐσχάτῃeschatēG2078dayἡμέρᾳ.hēmeraG2250.

40For thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778is the willθέλημαthelēmaG2307of My FatherπατρόςpatrosG3962,that everyoneπᾶςpasG3956whoseesθεωρῶνtheōrōnG2334the SonυἱὸνhuionG5207andbelievesπιστεύωνpisteuōnG4100in Him will haveἔχῃechēG2192eternalαἰώνιον,aiōnionG166lifeζωὴνzōēnG2222,and I MyselfἐγὼegōG1473willraiseἀναστήσωanastēsōG450him upG450on the lastἐσχάτῃeschatēG2078dayἡμέρᾳ.¶hēmeraG2250.”
