18“IfεἰeiG1487the worldκόσμοςkosmosG2889hatesμισεῖ,miseiG3404you,you knowγινώσκετεginōsketeG1097that it has hatedμεμίσηκεν.memisēkenG3404Me beforeπρῶτονprōtonG4413it hated you.

19IfεἰeiG1487you were of the worldκόσμουkosmouG2889,the worldκόσμοςkosmosG2889would loveἐφίλει·ephileiG5368you asits ownἴδιονidionG2398;but becauseὅτιhotiG3754you are not of the worldκόσμουkosmouG2889, butI choseG1586you outG1586of the worldκόσμου,kosmouG2889,becauseδιὰdiaG1223of thisτοῦτοtoutoG3778the worldκόσμος.¶kosmosG2889hatesμισεῖmiseiG3404you.

20RememberμνημονεύετεmnēmoneueteG3421the wordλόγουlogouG3056that I saidG3004to you, ‘A slaveδοῦλοςdoulosG1401is not greaterμείζωνmeizōnG3173than his masterκυρίουkuriouG2962.’IfεἰeiG1487they persecutedἐδίωξανediōxanG1377Me,they will persecuteδιώξουσιν·diōxousinG1377you asG2532wellG2532;ifεἰeiG1487theyfollowedἐτήρησανetērēsanG5083My wordλόγονlogonG3056,they will followτηρήσουσιν.tērēsousinG5083yoursG5212alsoG2532.

21But allπάνταpantaG3956theseG3778thingsταῦταtautaG3778they will doποιήσουσινpoiēsousinG4160to youonG1223accountδιὰdiaG1223ofG1223My nameὄνομάonomaG3686,becauseὅτιhotiG3754they do not knowG3609the OneG3588who sentπέμψαντάpempsantaG3992Me.

22IfΕἰEiG1487I had not comeἦλθονēlthonG2064and spokenἐλάλησαelalēsaG2980to them, they would not haveεἴχοσαν·eichosanG2192sinἁμαρτίανhamartianG266;but nowνῦνnunG3568they haveἔχουσινechousinG2192noG3756excuseπρόφασινprophasinG4392for their sinἁμαρτίαςhamartiasG266.

23The one who hatesμισῶνmisōnG3404Me hatesμισεῖ.miseiG3404My FatherπατέραpateraG3962alsoκαὶkaiG2532.

24IfεἰeiG1487I had not doneἐποίησαepoiēsaG4160amongἐνenG1722themthe worksἔργαergaG2041whichἃhaG3739noG3762oneG3762elseἄλλοςallosG243didἐποίησεν,epoiēsenG4160,they would not haveεἴχοσαν·eichosanG2192sinἁμαρτίανhamartianG266;but nowνῦνnunG3568they have bothG2532seenἑωράκασινhe'ōrakasinG3708and hatedμεμισήκασινmemisēkasinG3404Me and My FatherπατέραpateraG3962asG2532wellG2532.

25But this has happenedsoG2443thatG2443the wordλόγοςlogosG3056that is writtenγεγραμμένοςgegrammenosG1125in theirLawνόμῳnomōG3551will be fulfilledπληρωθῇplērōthēaG4137: ‘They hatedἐμίσησάνemisēsanG3404Me forG1432noG1432reasonG1432.’

26“WhenὍτανHotanG3752theHelperπαράκλητοςparaklētosG3875comesἔλθῃelthēG2064,whomὃνhonG3739I will sendπέμψωpempsōG3992to you from the Fatherπατρός,patrosG3962, namely,the SpiritπνεῦμαpneumaG4151of truthἀληθείαςalētheiasG225whoὃhoG3739comesἐκπορεύεται,ekporeuetaiG1607from the FatherπατρὸςpatrosG3962,He will testifyμαρτυρήσειmarturēseiG3140aboutπερὶperiG4012Me,
