18“IfεἰeiG1487the worldκόσμοςkosmosG2889hatesμισεῖ,miseiG3404you,you knowγινώσκετεginōsketeG1097that it has hatedμεμίσηκεν.memisēkenG3404Me beforeπρῶτονprōtonG4413it hated you.

19IfεἰeiG1487you were of the worldκόσμουkosmouG2889,the worldκόσμοςkosmosG2889would loveἐφίλει·ephileiG5368its ownἴδιονidionG2398;but becauseG3754you are not of the worldκόσμουkosmouG2889, butI choseἐξελεξάμηνexelexamēnG1586you out of the worldκόσμου,kosmouG2889,becauseG3754of thisδιὰ τοῦτοdia toutoG1223 G3778the worldκόσμος.¶kosmosG2889hatesμισεῖmiseiG3404you.

20RememberμνημονεύετεmnēmoneueteG3421the wordλόγουlogouG3056that I saidG3004to you, ‘A slaveδοῦλοςdoulosG1401is not greaterμείζωνmeizōnG3173than his masterκυρίουkuriouG2962.’IfεἰeiG1487they persecutedἐδίωξανediōxanG1377Me,they will alsoκαὶkaiG2532persecuteδιώξουσιν·diōxousinG1377you; ifεἰeiG1487theykeptἐτήρησανetērēsanG5083My wordλόγονlogonG3056,they will keepτηρήσουσιν.tērēsousinG5083yoursG5212alsoκαὶkaiG2532.

21But allπάνταpantaG3956theseG3778thingsταῦταtautaG3778they will doποιήσουσινpoiēsousinG4160to youfor My name’sὄνομάonomaG3686sakeδιὰdiaG1223,becauseὅτιhotiG3754they do not knowG3609the One who sentπέμψαντάpempsantaG3992Me.

22IfΕἰEiG1487I had not comeἦλθονēlthonG2064and spokenἐλάλησαelalēsaG2980to them, they would not haveεἴχοσαν·eichosanG2192sinἁμαρτίανhamartianG266,but nowνῦνnunG3568they haveἔχουσινechousinG2192noG3756excuseπρόφασινprophasinG4392for their sinἁμαρτίαςhamartiasG266.

23He who hatesμισῶνmisōnG3404Me hatesμισεῖ.miseiG3404My FatherπατέραpateraG3962alsoκαὶkaiG2532.

24IfεἰeiG1487I had not doneἐποίησαepoiēsaG4160amongἐνenG1722themthe worksἔργαergaG2041whichἃhaG3739noG3762oneG3762elseἄλλοςallosG243didἐποίησεν,epoiēsenG4160,they would not haveεἴχοσαν·eichosanG2192sinἁμαρτίανhamartianG266;but nowνῦνnunG3568they have bothG2532seenἑωράκασινhe'ōrakasinG3708and hatedμεμισήκασινmemisēkasinG3404Me and My FatherπατέραpateraG3962as wellG2532.

25But they have done thisto fulfillπληρωθῇplērōthēaG4137the wordλόγοςlogosG3056that is writtenγεγραμμένοςgegrammenosG1125in theirLawνόμῳnomōG3551, ‘They hatedἐμίσησάνemisēsanG3404Me withoutG1431a causeG1431.’

26“WhenὍτανHotanG3752theHelperπαράκλητοςparaklētosG3875comesἔλθῃelthēG2064,whomὃνhonG3739I will sendπέμψωpempsōG3992to you from the Fatherπατρός,patrosG3962, that isthe SpiritπνεῦμαpneumaG4151of truthἀληθείαςalētheiasG225whoὃhoG3739proceedsἐκπορεύεται,ekporeuetaiG1607from the FatherπατρὸςpatrosG3962,He will testifyμαρτυρήσειmarturēseiG3140aboutπερὶperiG4012Me,

27and you willtestifyμαρτυρεῖτε,martureiteG3140alsoκαὶkaiG2532,becauseὅτιhotiG3754you have beenἐστε.¶esteG1510with Mefrom the beginningἀρχῆςarchēsG746.
