2and askedᾐτήσατοētēsatoG154forlettersἐπιστολὰςepistolasG1992from him tothe synagoguesσυναγωγάς,sunagōgasG4864inDamascusΔαμασκὸνDamaskonG1154,soὅπωςhopōsG3704thatG3704ifἐάνeanG1437he foundεὕρῃheurēG2147anyτιναςtinasG5100belongingὄνταςontasG1510tothe WayὁδοῦhodouG3598,whetherτεteG5037menἄνδραςandrasG435orκαὶkaiG2532womenγυναῖκας,gunaikasG1135,he might bringἀγάγῃagagēG71them in shacklesδεδεμένουςdedemenousG1210to JerusalemἸερουσαλήμ.IerousalēmG2419.

3NowδὲdeG1161as he was travelingπορεύεσθαιporeuesthaiG4198,it happenedἐγένετοegenetoG1096that he was approachingἐγγίζεινengizeinG1448DamascusΔαμασκῷ,DamaskōG1154, andsuddenlyἐξαίφνηςexaiphnēsG1810a lightφῶςphōsG5457from heavenοὐρανοῦ·ouranouG3772flashedG4015aroundG4015him;

4andhe fellπεσὼνpesōnG4098to the groundγῆνgēnG1093and heardἤκουσενēkousenG191a voiceφωνὴνphōnēnG5456sayingλέγουσανlegousanG3004to him,“SaulΣαοὺλSaoulG4549,SaulΣαούλ,SaoulG4549,whyτίtiG5101are you persecutingδιώκεις;diōkeisG1377Me?”

5And he saidG3004, “WhoτίςtisG5101are You, Lordκύριε;kurieG2962?” And He said,“I amG1510JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424whomὃνhonG3739you are persecutingδιώκειςdiōkeisG1377,

6but getG450upG450and enterεἴσελθεeiseltheG1525the cityπόλιν,polinG4172, andit will be toldλαληθήσεταίlalēthēsetaiG2980to you whatὅ τίho tiG3739 G5101you mustδεῖdeiG1163doποιεῖν.poieinG4160.”

7The menἄνδρεςandresG435who traveledσυνοδεύοντεςsunodeuontesG4922with himstoodεἱστήκεισανheistēkeisanG2476speechlessG1753,hearingἀκούοντεςakouontesG191thevoiceφωνῆς,phōnēsG5456but seeingθεωροῦντες.theōrountesG2334noG3367oneμηδέναmēdenaG3367.

8SaulΣαῦλοςSaulosG4569gotG1453upG1453from the groundγῆς,gēsG1093, andthough his eyesὀφθαλμῶνophthalmōnG3788were openἀνεῳγμένωνaneōgmenōnG455, hecould seeἔβλεπεν·eblepenG991nothingG3762;and leadingG5496him byG5496theG5496handχειραγωγοῦντεςcheiragōgountesG5496,they broughtεἰσήγαγονeisēgagonG1521him intoDamascusΔαμασκόν.DamaskonG1154.

9And for threeτρεῖςtreisG5140daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250he was withoutμὴmēG3361sightβλέπωνblepōnG991,and neitherοὐκoukG3756ateG2068norοὐδὲoudeG3761drankἔπιεν.¶epienG4095.

10NowG1161there was a discipleμαθητὴςmathētēsG3101inDamascusΔαμασκῷDamaskōG1154namedὀνόματιonomatiG3686AnaniasἉνανίας,HananiasG367;and the Lordκύριος·kuriosG2962saidG3004to him ina visionὁράματιhoramatiG3705,“AnaniasἉνανία.HananiaG367.”And he saidG3004, “HereἰδοὺidouG2400I am, Lordκύριε.kurieG2962.”

11And the LordκύριοςkuriosG2962said to him,“GetG450upG450and goπορεύθητιporeuthētiG4198to the streetῥύμηνrhumēnG4505calledκαλουμένηνkaloumenēnG2564StraightεὐθεῖανeutheianG2117,and inquireζήτησονzētēsonG2212at the houseοἰκίᾳoikiaG3614of JudasἸούδαIoudaG2455for a manG5018fromG5018TarsusΤαρσέα·TarseaG5018namedὀνόματιonomatiG3686SaulΣαῦλονSaulonG4569,for he is prayingπροσεύχεταιproseuchetaiG4336,

12and he has seenG3708in a visionG3705a manἄνδραandraG435namedὀνόματιonomatiG3686AnaniasG367comeεἰσελθόνταeiselthontaG1525inG1525andlayG2007his handsχεῖρας,cheirasG5495onG2007him, soὅπωςhopōsG3704thatG3704he might regainG308his sightG308.”

13But AnaniasἉνανίας·HananiasG367answeredἈπεκρίθηApekrithēG611, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962,I have heardἤκουσαēkousaG191from manyπολλῶνpollōnG4183peopleG4183aboutπερὶperiG4012thisτούτου,toutouG3778manἀνδρὸςandrosG435,howὅσαhosaG3745muchG3745harmκακὰkakaG2556he didἐποίησενepoiēsenG4160to YoursaintsἁγίοιςhagioisG40in JerusalemἸερουσαλήμ·IerousalēmG2419;

14and hereὧδεhōdeG5602hehasἔχειecheiG2192authorityἐξουσίανexousianG1849from the chiefἀρχιερέωνarchiereōnG749priestsG749toarrestδῆσαιdēsaiG1210allπάνταςpantasG3956whocallἐπικαλουμένουςepikaloumenousG1941onG1941Your nameὄνομάonomaG3686.”

15But the Lordκύριος·kuriosG2962saidG3004to him,“Goπορεύου,poreuouG4198, forhe is a chosenἐκλογῆςeklogēsG1589instrumentσκεῦοςskeuosG4632of MineG1473,to bearβαστάσαιbastasaiG941My nameὄνομάonomaG3686beforeἐνώπιονenōpionG1799the GentilesἐθνῶνethnōnG1484andkingsβασιλέωνbasileōnG935and the sonsυἱῶνhuiōnG5207of IsraelἸσραήλ.IsraēlG2474;

16forI will showὑποδείξωhupodeixōG5263him howὅσαhosaG3745muchG3745he mustδεῖdeiG1163sufferπαθεῖν.¶patheinG3958inG5228behalfG5228of My nameὀνόματόςonomatosG3686.”

17SoG3704AnaniasἉνανίαςHananiasG367departedἈπῆλθενApēlthenG565and enteredεἰσῆλθενeisēlthenG1525the houseοἰκίαν,oikianG3614, and afterlayingἐπιθεὶςepitheisG2007his handsχεῖραςcheirasG5495on him saidG3004, “Brotherἀδελφέ,adelpheG80SaulΣαοὺλSaoulG4549,the LordκύριοςkuriosG2962JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424,who appearedG3708to you on the roadὁδῷhodōG3598by whichᾗhēG3739you were comingἤρχου,ērchouG2064,has sentἀπέσταλκένapestalkenG649me soG3704thatG3704you may regainG308your sightG308and befilledG4092with the Holyἁγίου.hagiouG40SpiritπνεύματοςpneumatosG4151.”

18And immediatelyεὐθέωςeutheōsG2112somethinglikeὡςhōsG5613fishscalesλεπίδες,lepidesG3013fellἀπέπεσανapepesanG634from his eyesὀφθαλμῶνophthalmōnG3788,and he regainedG308his sightἀνέβλεψένaneblepsenG308,and he gotG450upG450and was baptizedἐβαπτίσθη,ebaptisthēG907;

19and he tookλαβὼνlabōnG2983foodτροφὴνtrophēnG5160and was strengthenedἐνίσχυσεν.¶enischusenG1765.NowδὲdeG1161for severalτινάς·tinasG5100daysἡμέραςhēmerasG2250he was withthe disciplesμαθητῶνmathētōnG3101who were in DamascusΔαμασκῷDamaskōG1154,

20and immediatelyεὐθέωςeutheōsG2112he beganto proclaimἐκήρυσσενekērussenG2784JesusἸησοῦν,IēsounG2424in the synagoguesσυναγωγαῖςsunagōgaisG4864,sayingὅτιhotiG3754, “He isthe SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of Godθεοῦ.¶theouG2316.”
