Luke 22:47-71

47While He was stillἜτιEtiG2089speakingλαλοῦντοςlalountosG2980,beholdἰδοὺidouG2400,a crowdὄχλος,ochlosG3793came,and the one calledλεγόμενοςlegomenosG3004JudasἸούδαςIoudasG2455,oneεἷςheisG1520of the twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427,was precedingπροήρχετοproērchetoG4281them; and he approachedἤγγισενēngisenG1448JesusἸησοῦIēsouG2424to kissφιλῆσαιphilēsaiG5368Him.

48But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to him,“JudasἸούδα,IoudaG2455,are you betrayingπαραδίδως;paradidōsG3860the SonυἱὸνhuionG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444with a kissφιλήματιphilēmatiG5370?”

49When thoseοἱhoiG3588whoτὸtoG3588were aroundπερὶperiG4012Him sawG3708what was going to happenἐσόμενονesomenonG1510,they saidG3004, “Lordκύριε,kurieG2962,shall we strikeπατάξομενpataxomenG3960with theswordμαχαίρῃ;machairēG3162?”

50And oneεἷςheisG1520of them struckἐπάταξενepataxenG3960the slaveδοῦλονdoulonG1401of the highἀρχιερέωςarchiereōsG749priestG749and cutἀφεῖλενapheilenG851offG851his rightδεξιόν.dexionG1188earοὖςousG3775.

51But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424answeredἀποκριθεὶςapokritheisG611and saidG3004, “StopἐᾶτεeateG1439!NoG2193moreG2193of thisτούτου.toutouG3778.”And He touchedἁψάμενοςhapsamenosG681his earὠτίουōtiouG5621and healedἰάσατοiasatoG2390him.

52ThenG2532JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424saidG3004to the chiefἀρχιερεῖςarchiereisG749priestsG749andofficersστρατηγοὺςstratēgousG4755of the templeG2413and eldersπρεσβυτέρους·presbuterousG4245who had comeπαραγενομένουςparagenomenousG3854againstἐπ᾽ep᾽G1909Him,“Have you comeἐξήλθατεexēlthateG1831out with swordsμαχαιρῶνmachairōnG3162and clubsξύλων;xulōnG3586as you would againstἐπὶepiG1909a robberλῃστὴνlēstēnG3027?

53While I was with you dailyκαθ᾽ ἡμέρανkath᾽ hēmeranG2596 G2250in the templeG2413,you did not layἐξετείνατεexeteinateG1614handsχεῖραςcheirasG5495on Me; butthisαὕτηhautēG3778hourὥραhōraG5610and the powerἐξουσίαexousiaG1849of darknessσκότους.¶skotousG4655are yoursG4771.”

54Having arrestedΣυλλαβόντεςSullabontesG4815Him, they ledἤγαγονēgagonG71Him awayand broughtεἰσήγαγονeisēgagonG1521Him to the houseοἰκίανoikianG3614of the highἀρχιερέως.archiereōsG749priestG749; butPeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074was followingἠκολούθειēkoloutheiG190at a distanceμακρόθεν.makrothenG3113.

55After they had kindledG4015a fireπῦρpurG4442in the middleμέσῳmesōG3319ofthe courtyardαὐλῆςaulēsG833and had satG4776downG4776togetherσυγκαθισάντωνsugkathisantōnG4776,PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074was sittingἐκάθητοekathētoG2521amongμέσοςmesosG3319them.

56And a servant-girlπαιδίσκηpaidiskēG3814,seeingG3708him as he satκαθήμενονkathēmenonG2521in the firelightφῶςphōsG5457and lookingG816intentlyἀτενίσασαatenisasaG816at him, saidG3004, “ThisG3778manG3778was with Him tooG2532.”

57But he deniedἠρνήσατοērnēsatoG720it,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “Womanγύναι.¶gunaiG1135,I do not knowG3609Him.”

58A littleβραχὺbrachuG1024laterμετὰmetaG3326,anotherἕτεροςheterosG2087sawG3708him and saidἔφη·ephēG5346, “You are oneof them tooG2532!”But PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074saidἔφη·ephēG5346, “Manἄνθρωπε,anthrōpeG444,I amG1510not!”

59After aboutὡσεὶhōseiG5616an hourὥραςhōrasG5610had passedδιαστάσηςdiastasēsG1339,anotherG243manG243beganto insistδιϊσχυρίζετοdiischurizetoG1340,sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “Certainlyἐπ᾽ ἀληθείαςep᾽ alētheiasG1909 G225thisG3778manG3778alsoG2532was with Him,for he is a GalileanΓαλιλαῖόςGalilaiosG1057tooG2532.”

60But PeterΠέτρος·PetrosG4074saidλέγεις.legeisG3004, “Manἄνθρωπε,anthrōpeG444,I do not knowG3609whatὃhoG3739you are talkingG3004about.” ImmediatelyπαραχρῆμαparachrēmaG3916,while he was stillἔτιetiG2089speakingλαλοῦντοςlalountosG2980,a roosterἀλέκτωρ.alektōrG220crowedἐφώνησενephōnēsenG5455.

61The LordκύριοςkuriosG2962turnedστραφεὶςstrapheisG4762and lookedἐνέβλεψενeneblepsenG1689at PeterΠέτρῳ,PetrōG4074.And PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074rememberedὑπεμνήσθηhupemnēsthēG5279the wordG3056of the LordκυρίουkuriouG2962,howὡςhōsG5613He had toldG3004him, “BeforeπρὶνprinG4250a roosterἀλέκτοραalektoraG220crowsφωνῆσαιphōnēsaiG5455todayσήμερονsēmeronG4594,you will denyἀπαρνήσῃaparnēsēG533Me threeG5151timesG5151.”

62And he wentἐξελθὼνexelthōnG1831out and weptἔκλαυσενeklausenG2799bitterlyπικρῶς.¶pikrōsG4090.

63Now the menἄνδρεςandresG435who were holdingG4912Jesus in custodyG4912were mockingἐνέπαιζονenepaizonG1702Him and beatingδέροντες.derontesG1194Him,

64and they blindfoldedπερικαλύψαντεςperikalupsantesG4028Him and were askingἐπηρώτωνepērōtōnG1905Him, sayingλέγοντες·legontesG3004, “Prophesyπροφήτευσον,prophēteusonG4395,whoτίςtisG5101is the one who hitπαίσαςpaisasG3817You?”

65And they were sayingἔλεγονelegonG3004manyπολλὰpollaG4183otherἕτεραheteraG2087thingsG4183againstεἰςeisG1519Him,blasphemingβλασφημοῦντεςblasphēmountesG987.

66WhenὡςhōsG5613it was dayἡμέρα,hēmeraG2250, theCouncilG4244of eldersG4244of the peopleλαοῦ,laouG2992assembledσυνήχθηsunēchthēG4863,bothτεteG5037chiefἀρχιερεῖςarchiereisG749priestsG749and scribesγραμματεῖς,grammateisG1122,and they ledG520Him awayἀπήγαγονapēgagonG520to theircouncilσυνέδριονsunedrionG4892chamber,sayingG3004,

67“IfεἰeiG1487You are theChristχριστός,christosG5547,tellG3004us.” But He saidλέγοντες·legontesG3004to them,“IfἐὰνeanG1437I tellG3004you, you will not believeπιστεύσητε.pisteusēteG4100;

68and ifἐὰνeanG1437I askἐρωτήσω,erōtēsōG2065a questionG2065,you will not answerἀποκριθῆτεapokrithēteG611.

69But from nowνῦνnunG3568onthe SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of ManἀνθρώπουanthrōpouG444will be seatedκαθήμενοςkathēmenosG2521at the rightδεξιῶνdexiōnG1188handG1188of the powerδυνάμεωςdunameōsG1411of Godθεοῦ.¶theouG2316.”

70And they allπάντες·pantesG3956saidλέγετεlegeteG3004, “Are Youthe SonυἱὸςhuiosG5207of Godθεοῦ;theouG2316,thenοὖνounG3767?”And He saidἔφη·ephēG5346to them, “Yes, I amG1510.”

71ThenG2532they saidG3004, “WhatτίtiG5101furtherἔτιetiG2089needχρείαν;chreianG5532do we haveἔχομενechomenG2192of testimonyμαρτυρίαςmarturiasG3141?For we have heardἠκούσαμενēkousamenG191it ourselvesG846from His own mouthστόματοςstomatosG4750.”
