Luke 1:57-80
57But the timeG5550 was fulfilled for ElizabethG1665 that she should bring forthG5088, and she gave birthG5088 to a sonG5207. 58And her neighbours and kinsfolk heardG191 that [the] LordG2962 had magnifiedG3170 his mercyG1656 with her, and they rejoiced with her. 59And it cameG2064 to passG1096 on the eighthG3590 dayG2250 they cameG2064 to circumciseG4059 the childG3813, and they calledG2564 it after the nameG3686 of his fatherG3962, Zacharias. 60And his motherG3384 answeringG611 saidG3004, No; but he shall be calledG2564 JohnG2491. 61And they saidG3004 to her, There isG1510 no oneG3762 among thy kinsfolk who isG1510 calledG2564 by this nameG3686. 62And they made signs to his fatherG3962 as to what he might wishG2309 it to be calledG2564. 63And having askedG154 for a writing-table, he wroteG1125 sayingG3004, JohnG2491 isG1510 his nameG3686. And they all wonderedG2296. 64And his mouthG4750 was openedG455 immediatelyG3916, and his tongueG1100, and he spake, blessingG2127 1GodG2316. 65And fearG5401 cameG1096 upon all who dwelt round about them; and in the wholeG3650 hill-country of Judaea all these thingsG3778 were the subject of conversation. 66And all who heardG191 them laidG5087 them up in their heartG2588, sayingG3004, What then will this childG3813 beG1510? And [the] Lord's handG5495 wasG1510 with him. 67And Zacharias his fatherG3962 was filledG4130 with [the] HolyG40 SpiritG4151, and prophesiedG4395, sayingG3004, 68Blessed be [the] LordG2962 the 2GodG2316 of IsraelG2474, because he has visited and wrought redemptionG3085 for his peopleG2992, 69and raisedG1453 up a hornG2768 of deliverance for us in the houseG3624 of DavidG1138 his servantG3816; 70as he spokeG2980 by [the] mouthG4750 of his holyG40 prophetsG4396, who have been since the world began; 71deliverance from our enemiesG2190 and out of the handG5495 of all who hateG3404 us; 72to fulfil mercyG1656 with our fathersG3962 and rememberG3403 his holyG40 covenantG1242, 73[the] oathG3727 which he sworeG3660 to AbrahamG11 our fatherG3962, 74to give us, that, saved out of the handG5495 of our enemiesG2190, we should serveG3000 him without fearG870 75in piety and righteousnessG1343 before him all our daysG2250. 76And thou, childG3813, shalt be calledG2564 [the] prophetG4396 of [the] HighestG5310; for thou shalt goG4313 before the faceG4383 of [the] LordG2962 to makeG2090 readyG2090 his waysG3598; 77to giveG1325 knowledgeG1108 of deliverance to his peopleG2992 by [the] remission of their sinsG266 78on accountG1223 of [the] bowels of mercyG1656 of our 3GodG2316; wherein [the] dayspring from on highG5311 has visited us, 79to shine upon them who were sittingG2521 in darknessG4655 and in [the] shadowG4639 of deathG2288, to guide our feetG4228 into [the] wayG3598 of peaceG1515. 80— And the childG3813 grewG837 and wasG1510 strengthenedG2901 in spiritG4151; and he wasG1510 in the deserts until the dayG2250 of his shewing to IsraelG2474.
