19When thou shalt besiege a cityH5892 manyH7227 daysH3117, in makingH3772 war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroyH7843 the treesH6086 thereof by lifting up an axeH1631 against them; for thou canst eatH398 of them; and thou shalt not cutH3772 them downH3772, for is the treeH6086 of the fieldH7704 a manH120 that it should be besieged? 20OnlyH7535 the treesH6086 which thou knowest are not treesH6086 for meat, thou mayest destroyH7843 and cutH3772 them downH3381, and buildH1129 bulwarks against the cityH5892 that maketh warH4421 with thee, until it fall.
