Deuteronomy 12

1These are the statutesH2706 and the ordinancesH4941 which ye shall observeH8104 to do in the landH776 which Jehovah, the GodH430 of thy fathersH1, hath givenH5414 thee to possessH3423 it, all the daysH3117 that ye live upon the earthH776. 2Ye shall surely destroyH6 all the placesH4725 wherein the nationsH1471 that ye shall dispossessH3423 servedH5647 their godsH430, upon the highH7311 mountainsH2022, and upon the hillsH1389, and under every green treeH6086: 3and ye shall breakH7665 down their altarsH4196, and dash in pieces their pillarsH4676, and burnH8313 their Asherim with fireH784; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their godsH430; and ye shall destroyH6 their nameH8034 out of that placeH4725. 4Ye shall not do soH3651 unto Jehovah your GodH430. 5But unto the placeH4725 which Jehovah your GodH430 shall chooseH977 out of all your tribesH7626, to putH7760 his nameH8034 there, even unto his habitation shall ye seekH1875, and thither thou shalt comeH935; 6and thither ye shall bringH935 your burnt-offerings, and your sacrificesH2077, and your tithesH4643, and the heave-offering of your handH3027, and your vowsH5088, and your freewill-offerings, and the firstlings of your herdH1241 and of your flockH6629: 7and there ye shall eatH398 before Jehovah your GodH430, and ye shall rejoiceH8055 in all that ye put your handH3027 unto, ye and your householdsH1004, wherein Jehovah thy GodH430 hath blessedH1288 thee. 8Ye shall not do after all the things that we do hereH6311 this dayH3117, every manH376 whatsoever is rightH3477 in his own eyesH5869; 9for ye are not as yet comeH935 to the restH4496 and to the inheritanceH5159, which Jehovah thy GodH430 giveth thee. 10But whenH834 ye go over the JordanH3383, and dwellH3427 in the landH776 which Jehovah your GodH430 causeth you to inheritH5157, and he giveth you restH5117 from all your enemiesH341 roundH5439 about, so that ye dwellH3427 in safety; 11then it shall comeH935 to pass that to the placeH4725 which Jehovah your GodH430 shall chooseH977, to cause his nameH8034 to dwellH7931 there, thither shall ye bringH935 all that I commandH6680 you: your burnt-offerings, and your sacrificesH2077, your tithesH4643, and the heave-offering of your handH3027, and all your choice vowsH5088 which ye vowH5088 unto Jehovah. 12And ye shall rejoiceH8055 before Jehovah your GodH430, ye, and your sonsH1121, and your daughtersH1323, and your men-servants, and your maid-servants, and the LeviteH3881 that is within your gatesH8179, forasmuch as he hath no portionH2506 nor inheritanceH5159 with you. 13TakeH8104 heedH8104 to thyself that thou offerH5927 not thy burnt-offerings in every placeH4725 that thou seest; 14but in the placeH4725 which Jehovah shall chooseH977 in oneH259 of thy tribesH7626, there thou shalt offerH5927 thy burnt-offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I commandH6680 thee.

15Notwithstanding, thou mayest kill and eatH398 fleshH1320 within all thy gatesH8179, after all the desireH5315 of thy soulH5315, according to the blessingH1293 of Jehovah thy GodH430 which he hath givenH5414 thee: the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889 may eatH398 thereof, as of the gazelle, and as of the hart. 16OnlyH7535 ye shall not eatH398 the bloodH1818; thou shalt pourH8210 it out upon the earthH776 as waterH4325. 17Thou mayest not eatH398 within thy gatesH8179 the titheH4643 of thy grainH1715, or of thy newH8492 wineH8492, or of thine oilH3323, or the firstlings of thy herdH1241 or of thy flockH6629, nor any of thy vowsH5088 which thou vowest, nor thy freewill-offerings, nor the heave-offering of thy handH3027; 18but thou shalt eatH398 them before Jehovah thy GodH430 in the placeH4725 which Jehovah thy GodH430 shall chooseH977, thou, and thy sonH1121, and thy daughterH1323, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the LeviteH3881 that is within thy gatesH8179: and thou shalt rejoiceH8055 before Jehovah thy GodH430 in all that thou puttest thy handH3027 unto. 19TakeH8104 heedH8104 to thyself that thou forsakeH5800 not the LeviteH3881 as long as thou livest in thy landH127.

20When Jehovah thy GodH430 shall enlargeH7337 thy borderH1366, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt sayH559, I will eatH398 fleshH1320, because thy soulH5315 desireth to eatH398 fleshH1320; thou mayest eatH398 fleshH1320, after all the desireH5315 of thy soulH5315. 21If the placeH4725 which Jehovah thy GodH430 shall chooseH977, to putH5414 his nameH8034 there, be too farH7368 from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herdH1241 and of thy flockH6629, which Jehovah hath givenH5414 thee, as I have commandedH6680 thee; and thou mayest eatH398 within thy gatesH8179, after all the desireH5315 of thy soulH5315. 22Even as the gazelle and as the hart is eatenH398, soH3651 thou shalt eatH398 thereof: the uncleanH2931 and the cleanH2889 may eatH398 thereof alikeH3162. 23OnlyH7535 be sure that thou eatH398 not the bloodH1818: for the bloodH1818 is the lifeH5315; and thou shalt not eatH398 the lifeH5315 with the fleshH1320. 24Thou shalt not eatH398 it; thou shalt pourH8210 it out upon the earthH776 as waterH4325. 25Thou shalt not eatH398 it; that it may goH3190 wellH3190 with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of Jehovah. 26OnlyH7535 thy holyH6944 thingsH6944 which thou hast, and thy vowsH5088, thou shalt takeH5375, and goH935 unto the placeH4725 which Jehovah shall chooseH977; 27and thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, the fleshH1320 and the bloodH1818, upon the altarH4196 of Jehovah thy GodH430; and the bloodH1818 of thy sacrificesH2077 shall be pouredH8210 out upon the altarH4196 of Jehovah thy GodH430; and thou shalt eatH398 the fleshH1320. 28ObserveH8104 and hearH8085 all these wordsH1697 which I commandH6680 thee, that it may goH3190 wellH3190 with thee, and with thy children after thee for everH5769, when thou doest that which is goodH2896 and rightH3477 in the eyesH5869 of Jehovah thy GodH430.

29When Jehovah thy GodH430 shall cutH3772 off the nationsH1471 from before thee, whither thou goest in to dispossessH3423 them, and thou dispossessest them, and dwellest in their landH776; 30takeH8104 heedH8104 to thyself that thou be not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyedH8045 from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their godsH430, sayingH559, HowH349 do these nationsH1471 serveH5647 their godsH430? even soH3651 will I do likewise. 31Thou shalt not do soH3651 unto Jehovah thy GodH430: for every abominationH8441 to Jehovah, which he hateth, have they done unto their godsH430; for even their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323 do they burnH8313 in the fireH784 to their godsH430.

32What thing soever I command you, that shall ye observe to do: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
