1 Thessalonians 4
Darby Bible
1For the rest, then, brethren, we begG2065 you and exhortG3870 you in [the] LordG2962 JesusG2424, evenG2532 as ye have receivedG3880 from us howG4459 ye oughtG1163 to walkG4043 and pleaseG700 1GodG2316, evenG2532 as ye alsoG2532 do walkG4043, that ye would aboundG4052 still moreG3123. 2For ye know what charges we gaveG1325 you through the LordG2962 JesusG2424. 3For this isG1510 [the] will of 2GodG2316, [even] your sanctificationG38, that ye should abstainG568 from fornication; 4that each of you know how to possess his ownG1438 vesselG4632 in sanctificationG38 and honour, 5(not in passionate desireG1939, evenG2532 as the nationsG1484 who know not 3GodG2316,) 6not overstepping the rights of and wronging his brotherG80 in the matterG4229, because the LordG2962 [is] the avenger of all these thingsG3778, evenG2532 as we alsoG2532 told you before, and have fully testifiedG1263. 7For 4GodG2316 has not calledG2564 us to uncleanness, but in sanctificationG38. 8He therefore that [in this] disregards [his brother], disregards, not manG444, but 5GodG2316, who has givenG1325 alsoG2532 his HolyG40 SpiritG4151 to you. 9NowG1161 concerningG4012 brotherlyG5360 loveG25 ye have no needG5532 that we should writeG1125 to you, for ye yourselves areG1510 taught of 6God to loveG25 oneG240 another. 10For alsoG2532 ye do this towards all the brethren in the wholeG3650 of MacedoniaG3109; but we exhortG3870 you, brethren, to aboundG4052 still moreG3123, 11and to seek earnestly to be quiet and mind your ownG2398 affairs, and workG2038 with your [ownG2398] handsG5495, evenG2532 as we charged you, 12that ye may walkG4043 reputably towards those without, and may have needG5532 of no oneG3367. 13But we do not wishG2309 you to be ignorantG50, brethren, concerningG4012 them that are fallen asleepG2837, to the end that ye be not grievedG3076 evenG2532 as alsoG2532 the restG3062 who have no hopeG1680. 14For if we believeG4100 that JesusG2424 has diedG599 and has risenG450 againG450, so alsoG2532 7GodG2316 will bringG71 with him those who have fallen asleepG2837 through JesusG2424. 15(For this we sayG3004 to you in [the] wordG3056 of [the] LordG2962, that we, the livingG2198, who remainG4035 to the coming of the LordG2962, are in no way to anticipate those who have fallen asleepG2837; 16for the LordG2962 himself, with an assembling shout, with archangel's voiceG5456 and with trump of 8GodG2316, shall descendG2597 from heavenG3772; and the deadG3498 in ChristG5547 shall riseG450 firstG4413; 17then we, the livingG2198 who remain, shall beG1510 caught up togetherG260 with them in [the] cloudsG3507, to meetG529 the LordG2962 in [the] airG109; and thusG3779 we shall beG1510 alwaysG3842 with [the] LordG2962. 18SoG5620 encourageG3870 oneG240 another with these wordsG3056.)
