Darby Bible
Corinthians 7:25-35
But concerningG4012 virginsG3933, I have no commandmentG2003 of [the] LordG2962; but I giveG1325 my opinion, as having received mercyG1653 of [the] LordG2962 to beG1510 faithfulG4103.
I thinkG3543 thenG3767 that this isG1510 goodG2570, on accountG1223 of the presentG1764 necessityG318, that [it isG1510] goodG2570 for a manG444 to remain so as he isG1510.
Art thou boundG1210 to a wifeG1135? seekG2212 not to be loosedG3089; art thou free from a wifeG1135? do not seekG2212 a wifeG1135.
But if thou shouldest alsoG2532 marryG1060, thou hast not sinnedG264; and if the virginG3933 marryG1060, they have not sinnedG264: but suchG5108 shall have tribulationG2347 in the fleshG4561; but I spareG5339 you.
But this I sayG5346, brethren, the timeG2540 isG1510 straitened. For the rest, that they who have wivesG1135, beG1510 as not having [any]:
and they that weepG2799, as not weepingG2799; and they that rejoiceG5463, as not rejoicingG5463; and they that buyG59, as not possessing;
and they that useG5530 the worldG2889, as not disposing of it as their own; for the fashion of this worldG2889 passes.
But I wishG2309 you to beG1510 without care. The unmarriedG22 cares for the things of the LordG2962, howG4459 he shall pleaseG700 the LordG2962;
but he that has marriedG1060 cares for the things of the worldG2889, howG4459 he shall pleaseG700 his wifeG1135.
There isG1510 a difference between the wifeG1135 and the virginG3933. The unmarriedG22 cares for the things of the LordG2962, that she may beG1510 holyG40 both in bodyG4983 and spiritG4151; but she that has marriedG1060 cares for the things of the worldG2889, howG4459 she shall pleaseG700 her husbandG435.
But I sayG3004 this for your own profit; not that I may set a snare before you, but for what [is] seemly, and waiting on the LordG2962 without distraction.
