Jeremiah 19

1ThusH3541 saidH559 Jehovah, GoH1980, and buyH7069 a potter’sH3335 earthen bottle, and take of the eldersH2205 of the peopleH5971, and of the eldersH2205 of the priestsH3548; 2and goH3318 forthH3318 unto the valleyH1516 of the sonH1121 of HinnomH2011, which is by the entry of the gateH8179 Harsith, and proclaimH7121 there the wordsH1697 that I shall tell thee; 3and sayH559, HearH8085 ye the wordH1697 of Jehovah, O kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, and inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389: ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, Behold, I will bringH935 evilH7451 upon this placeH4725, which whosoever heareth, his earsH241 shall tingleH6750. 4Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this placeH4725, and have burned incenseH6999 in it unto otherH312 godsH430, that they knewH3045 not, they and their fathersH1 and the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, and have filledH4390 this placeH4725 with the bloodH1818 of innocents, 5and have builtH1129 the highH1116 placesH1116 of BaalH1168, to burnH8313 their sonsH1121 in the fireH784 for burnt-offerings unto BaalH1168; which I commandedH6680 not, nor spake it, neither cameH5927 it into my mind: 6thereforeH3651, behold, the daysH3117 comeH935, saith Jehovah, that this placeH4725 shall no more be calledH7121 TophethH8612, nor The valleyH1516 of the sonH1121 of HinnomH2011, but The valleyH1516 of SlaughterH2028. 7And I will makeH5414 void the counselH6098 of JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 in this placeH4725; and I will cause them to fallH5307 by the swordH2719 before their enemiesH341, and by the handH3027 of them that seekH1245 their lifeH5315: and their dead bodies will I giveH5414 to be foodH3978 for the birdsH5775 of the heavensH8064, and for the beasts of the earthH776. 8And I will makeH7760 this cityH5892 an astonishment, and a hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished and hissH8319 because of all the plaguesH4347 thereof. 9And I will cause them to eatH398 the fleshH1320 of their sonsH1121 and the fleshH1320 of their daughtersH1323; and they shall eatH398 every oneH376 the fleshH1320 of his friendH7453, in the siegeH4692 and in the distressH4689, wherewith their enemiesH341, and they that seekH1245 their lifeH5315, shall distressH4689 them.

10Then shalt thou breakH7665 the bottle in the sight of the menH376 that goH1980 with thee, 11and shalt sayH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635: Even so will I breakH7665 this peopleH5971 and this cityH5892, as one breaketh a potter’sH3335 vesselH3627, that cannot be made whole againH5750; and they shall buryH6912 in TophethH8612, till there be no placeH4725 to buryH6912. 12ThusH3651 will I do unto this placeH4725, saith Jehovah, and to the inhabitantsH3427 thereof, even makingH5414 this cityH5892 as TophethH8612: 13and the housesH1004 of JerusalemH3389, and the housesH1004 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, which are defiled, shall beH1961 as the placeH4725 of TophethH8612, even all the housesH1004 upon whose roofsH1406 they have burned incenseH6999 unto all the hostH6635 of heavenH8064, and have poured out drink-offerings unto otherH312 godsH430.

14Then cameH935 JeremiahH3414 from TophethH8612, whither Jehovah had sentH7971 him to prophesyH5012; and he stoodH5975 in the courtH2691 of Jehovah’s houseH1004, and saidH559 to all the peopleH5971: 15ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, Behold, I will bringH935 upon this cityH5892 and upon all its towns all the evilH7451 that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neckH6203 stiff, that they may not hearH8085 my wordsH1697.
