Jeremiah 46
1The wordH1697 of Jehovah which came to JeremiahH3414 the prophetH5030 concerning the nationsH1471.
2Of EgyptH4714: concerning the armyH2428 of Pharaoh-neco kingH4428 of EgyptH4714, which wasH1961 by the riverH5104 EuphratesH6578 in CarchemishH3751, which Nebuchadrezzar kingH4428 of BabylonH894 smote in the fourthH7243 yearH8141 of JehoiakimH3079 the sonH1121 of JosiahH2977, kingH4428 of JudahH3063.
3PrepareH6186 ye the buckler and shieldH4043, and drawH5066 near to battleH4421. 4HarnessH631 the horsesH5483, and get up, ye horsemenH6571, and standH3320 forth with your helmetsH3553; furbish the spearsH7420, putH3847 on the coats of mail. 5Wherefore have I seenH7200 it? they are dismayed and are turnedH6437 backwardH268; and their mightyH1368 onesH1368 are beaten down, and are fledH5127 apace, and lookH7200 not backH268: terrorH4032 is on every side, saith Jehovah. 6Let not the swiftH7031 fleeH5127 away, nor the mightyH1368 manH1368 escapeH4422; in the northH6828 by the riverH5104 EuphratesH6578 have they stumbledH3782 and fallenH5307. 7Who is this that riseth up like the Nile, whose watersH4325 toss themselves like the riversH5104? 8EgyptH4714 riseth up like the Nile, and his watersH4325 toss themselves like the riversH5104: and he saith, I will rise up, I will coverH3680 the earthH776; I will destroyH6 citiesH5892 and the inhabitantsH3427 thereof. 9GoH3318 up, ye horsesH5483; and rage, ye chariotsH7393; and let the mightyH1368 menH1368 goH3318 forthH3318: CushH3568 and PutH6316, that handle the shieldH4043; and the Ludim, that handle and bendH1869 the bowH7198. 10For that dayH3117 is a dayH3117 of the LordH136, Jehovah of hostsH6635, a dayH3117 of vengeanceH5360, that he may avengeH5358 him of his adversaries: and the swordH2719 shall devourH398 and be satiate, and shall drinkH7301 its fillH7301 of their bloodH1818; for the LordH136, Jehovah of hostsH6635, hath a sacrificeH2077 in the northH6828 country by the riverH5104 EuphratesH6578. 11GoH5927 up into GileadH1568, and takeH3947 balmH6875, O virginH1330 daughterH1323 of EgyptH4714: in vain dost thou use manyH7235 medicines; there is no healing for thee. 12The nationsH1471 have heardH8085 of thy shameH7036, and the earthH776 is fullH4390 of thy cry; for the mightyH1368 manH1368 hath stumbledH3782 against the mightyH1368, they are fallenH5307 both of them togetherH3162.
13The wordH1697 that Jehovah spake to JeremiahH3414 the prophetH5030, how that Nebuchadrezzar kingH4428 of BabylonH894 should comeH935 and smite the landH776 of EgyptH4714.
14DeclareH5046 ye in EgyptH4714, and publish in MigdolH4024, and publish in MemphisH5297 and in TahpanhesH8471: sayH559 ye, StandH3320 forth, and prepareH3559 thee; for the swordH2719 hath devouredH398 roundH5439 about thee. 15WhyH4069 are thy strong onesH47 swept away? they stoodH5975 not, because Jehovah did drive them. 16He made manyH7235 to stumbleH3782, yea, they fellH5307 oneH376 upon another: and they saidH559, AriseH6965, and let us goH7725 again to our own peopleH5971, and to the landH776 of our nativity, from the oppressingH3238 swordH2719. 17They cried there, PharaohH6547 kingH4428 of EgyptH4714 is but a noise; he hath let the appointedH4150 timeH4150 passH5674 by. 18As I live, saith the KingH4428, whose nameH8034 is Jehovah of hostsH6635, surely like TaborH8396 among the mountainsH2022, and like CarmelH3760 by the seaH3220, so shall he comeH935. 19O thou daughterH1323 that dwellest in EgyptH4714, furnish thyself to go into captivity; for MemphisH5297 shall becomeH1961 a desolationH8047, and shall beH1961 burnt up, without inhabitantH3427. 20EgyptH4714 is a very fair heiferH5697; but destruction out of the northH6828 is comeH935, it is comeH935. 21AlsoH1571 her hired men in the midstH7130 of her are like calvesH5695 of the stallH4770; for they alsoH1571 are turnedH6437 backH6437, they are fledH5127 away togetherH3162, they did not standH5975: for the dayH3117 of their calamityH343 is comeH935 upon them, the timeH6256 of their visitation. 22The soundH6963 thereof shall goH935 like the serpent; for they shall march with an armyH2428, and comeH935 against her with axes, as hewers of woodH6086. 23They shall cutH3772 down her forestH3293, saith Jehovah, though it cannot be searchedH2713; because they are more than the locustsH697, and are innumerable. 24The daughterH1323 of EgyptH4714 shall be putH5414 to shame; she shall be delivered into the handH3027 of the peopleH5971 of the northH6828. 25Jehovah of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, saith: Behold, I will punishH6485 AmonH528 of No, and PharaohH6547, and EgyptH4714, with her godsH430, and her kingsH4428; even PharaohH6547, and them that trustH982 in him: 26and I will deliver them into the handH3027 of those that seekH1245 their livesH5315, and into the handH3027 of Nebuchadrezzar kingH4428 of BabylonH894, and into the handH3027 of his servantsH5650; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the daysH3117 of old, saith Jehovah.
27But fearH3372 not thou, O JacobH3290 my servantH5650, neither be dismayedH2865, O IsraelH3478: for, lo, I will saveH3467 thee from afarH7350, and thy seedH2233 from the landH776 of their captivityH7628; and JacobH3290 shall returnH7725, and shall be quietH8252 and at easeH7599, and none shall make him afraidH3372. 28FearH3372 not thou, O JacobH3290 my servantH5650, saith Jehovah; for I am with thee: for I will makeH6213 a full end of all the nationsH1471 whither I have drivenH5080 thee; but I will not makeH6213 a full end of thee, but I will correct thee in measure, and will in no wise leaveH5352 thee unpunishedH5352.
