Jeremiah 19

1This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 saysH559: “GoH1980 and buyH7069 a clayH2789 jarH1228 from a potterH3335. Take some of the eldersH2205 of the peopleH5971 and leadersH2205 of the priestsH3548, 2and goH3318 out toH413 the ValleyH1516 of Ben-hinnomH1121H2011 near the entranceH6607 of the PotsherdH2777 GateH8179.

ProclaimH7121 thereH8033 the wordsH1697 I speakH1696 to youH413, 3sayingH559, ‘HearH8085 the wordH1697 of the LORDH3068, O kingsH4428 of JudahH3063 and residentsH3427 of JerusalemH3389. This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478H2005, saysH559: I am going to bringH935 such disasterH7451 onH5921 thisH2088 placeH4725 thatH834 the earsH241 of allH3605 who hear of itH8085 will ringH6750, 4becauseH3282 they have abandoned MeH5800 and made thisH2088 a foreignH5234 placeH4725. They have burned incenseH6999 in this place to otherH312 godsH430 thatH834 neither theyH1992 nor their fathersH1 nor the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063 haveH3808 ever knownH3045. They have filledH4390 thisH2088 placeH4725 with the bloodH1818 of the innocentH5355. 5They have builtH1129 high placesH1116 to BaalH1168 on which to burnH8313 their childrenH1121 in the fireH784 as offeringsH5930 to BaalH1168—somethingH834 I neverH3808 commandedH6680 or mentionedH1696H3808, norH3808 did it even enterH5927H5921 My mindH3820.

6SoH3651 beholdH2009, the daysH3117 are comingH935, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068, when thisH2088 placeH4725 will noH3808 longerH5750 be calledH7121 TophethH8612 or the ValleyH1516 of Ben-hinnomH1121H2011, butH3588H518 the ValleyH1516 of SlaughterH2028. 7And in thisH2088 placeH4725 I will ruinH12381 the plansH6098 of JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389. I will make them fallH5307 by the swordH2719 beforeH6440 their enemiesH341, by the handsH3027 of those who seekH1245 their livesH5315, and I will giveH5414 their carcassesH5038 as foodH3978 to the birdsH5775 of the airH8064 and the beastsH929 of the earthH776.

8I will makeH7760 thisH2063 cityH5892 a desolationH8047 and an object of scornH8322.2 AllH3605 who passH5674 byH5921 will be appalledH8074 and will scoffH8319 atH5921 allH3605 her woundsH4347. 9I will make them eatH398 the fleshH1320 of their sonsH1121 andH853 daughtersH1323, and they will eatH398 oneH376 another’sH7453 fleshH1320 in the siegeH4692 and distressH4689 inflictedH6693 on them by their enemiesH341 who seekH1245 their livesH5315.’

10Then you are to shatterH7665 the jarH1228 in the presenceH5869 of the menH582 who accompanyH1980 youH854, 11and you are to proclaimH559 to themH413 that this is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635H3602 saysH559: I will shatterH7665 thisH2088 nationH5971 and thisH2063 cityH5892, likeH834 one shattersH7665 a potter’sH3335 jarH3627 thatH834 canH3201 neverH3808 againH5750 be repairedH7495. They will bury the deadH6912 in TophethH8612 until there is no moreH369 roomH4725 to buryH6912 them.

12This is whatH3651 I will doH6213 to thisH2088 placeH4725 and to its residentsH3427, declaresH5002 the LORDH3068. I will makeH5414 thisH2063 cityH5892 like TophethH8612. 13The housesH1004 of JerusalemH3389 and the housesH1004 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063 will beH1961 defiledH2931 like that placeH4725, TophethH8612—allH3605 the housesH1004 onH5921 whose rooftopsH1406 they burned incenseH6999 to allH3605 the hostH6635 of heavenH8064 and poured outH5258 drink offeringsH5262 to otherH312 godsH430.”

14Then JeremiahH3414 returnedH935 from TophethH8612, whereH834 the LORDH3068H8033 had sent himH7971 to prophesyH5012, and he stoodH5975 in the courtyardH2691 of the houseH1004 of the LORDH3068 and proclaimedH559 toH413 allH3605 the peopleH5971, 15“This is whatH3541 the LORDH3068 of HostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, saysH559: ‘BeholdH2005, I am about to bringH935 onH413 thisH2063 cityH5892 and onH5921 allH3605 the villages around itH5892 everyH3605 disasterH7451 I have pronouncedH1696 against themH5921, becauseH3588 they have stiffenedH7185 their necksH6203 so as notH1115 to heedH8085 My wordsH1697.’”
