Jeremiah 7
1The wordH1697 that came to JeremiahH3414 from Jehovah, sayingH559, 2StandH5975 in the gateH8179 of Jehovah’s houseH1004, and proclaimH7121 there this wordH1697, and sayH559, HearH8085 the wordH1697 of Jehovah, all ye of JudahH3063, that enter in at these gatesH8179 to worship Jehovah. 3ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478, Amend your waysH1870 and your doings, and I will cause you to dwellH7931 in this placeH4725. 4TrustH982 ye not in lyingH8267 wordsH1697, sayingH559, The templeH1964 of Jehovah, the templeH1964 of Jehovah, the templeH1964 of Jehovah, are these. 5For if ye thoroughlyH3190 amend your waysH1870 and your doings; if ye thoroughlyH3190 execute justiceH4941 between a manH376 and his neighborH7453; 6if ye oppressH6231 not the sojournerH1616, the fatherlessH3490, and the widowH490, and shedH8210 not innocentH5355 bloodH1818 in this placeH4725, neither walk after otherH312 godsH430 to your own hurt: 7then will I cause you to dwellH7931 in this placeH4725, in the landH776 that I gaveH5414 to your fathersH1, from of old even for evermore.
8Behold, ye trustH982 in lyingH8267 wordsH1697, that cannot profitH3276. 9Will ye stealH1589, murderH7523, and commitH5003 adulteryH5003, and swearH7650 falsely, and burn incenseH6999 unto BaalH1168, and walkH1980 after otherH312 godsH430 that ye have not knownH3045, 10and comeH935 and standH5975 before me in this houseH1004, which is calledH7121 by my nameH8034, and sayH559, We are deliveredH5337; that ye may do all these abominationsH8441? 11Is this houseH1004, which is calledH7121 by my nameH8034, becomeH1961 a den of robbersH6530 in your eyesH5869? Behold, I, even I, have seenH7200 it, saith Jehovah.
12But go ye now unto my placeH4725 which was in ShilohH7887, whereH834 I caused my nameH8034 to dwellH7931 at the firstH7223, and seeH7200 what I did to it for the wickednessH7451 of my peopleH5971 IsraelH3478. 13And nowH6258, because ye have done all these worksH4639, saith Jehovah, and I spake unto you, risingH7925 up earlyH7925 and speakingH1696, but ye heardH8085 not; and I calledH7121 you, but ye answeredH6030 not: 14therefore will I do unto the houseH1004 which is calledH7121 by my nameH8034, wherein ye trustH982, and unto the placeH4725 which I gaveH5414 to you and to your fathersH1, as I did to ShilohH7887. 15And I will castH7993 you out of my sight, as I have castH7993 out all your brethren, even the whole seedH2233 of EphraimH669.
16Therefore prayH6419 not thou for this peopleH5971, neither liftH5375 up cryH7440 nor prayerH8605 for them, neither makeH8085 intercession to me; for I will not hearH8085 thee. 17Seest thou not what they do in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 and in the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389? 18The children gatherH3950 woodH6086, and the fathersH1 kindleH1197 the fireH784, and the womenH802 kneadH3888 the doughH1217, to makeH6213 cakes to the queenH4446 of heavenH8064, and to pourH5258 out drink-offerings unto otherH312 godsH430, that they may provokeH3707 me to angerH3707. 19Do they provokeH3707 me to angerH3707? saith Jehovah; do they not provokeH3707 themselves, to the confusion of their own facesH6440? 20ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith the LordH136 Jehovah: Behold, mine angerH639 and my wrathH2534 shall be pouredH5413 out upon this placeH4725, upon manH120, and upon beast, and upon the treesH6086 of the fieldH7704, and upon the fruitH6529 of the groundH127; and it shall burnH1197, and shall not be quenchedH3518.
21ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: AddH5595 your burnt-offerings unto your sacrificesH2077, and eatH398 ye fleshH1320. 22For I spake not unto your fathersH1, nor commandedH6680 them in the dayH3117 that I broughtH3318 them out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714, concerning burnt-offerings or sacrificesH2077: 23but this thingH1697 I commandedH6680 them, sayingH559, Hearken unto my voiceH6963, and I will beH1961 your GodH430, and ye shall beH1961 my peopleH5971; and walkH1980 ye in all the wayH1870 that I commandH6680 you, that it may beH1961 wellH3190 with you. 24But they hearkened not, nor inclinedH5186 their earH241, but walked in their own counselsH4156 and in the stubbornnessH8307 of their evilH7451 heartH3820, and went backwardH268, and not forward. 25Since the dayH3117 that your fathersH1 cameH3318 forthH3318 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 unto this dayH3117, I have sentH7971 unto you all my servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, daily risingH7925 up earlyH7925 and sendingH7971 them: 26yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclinedH5186 their earH241, but madeH7185 their neckH6203 stiff: they did worse than their fathersH1.
27And thou shalt speakH1696 all these wordsH1697 unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also callH7121 unto them; but they will not answerH6030 thee. 28And thou shalt sayH559 unto them, This is the nationH1471 that hath not hearkened to the voiceH6963 of Jehovah their GodH430, nor receivedH3947 instruction: truth is perishedH6, and is cutH3772 off from their mouthH6310.
29CutH1494 off thy hair, O Jerusalem, and castH7993 it awayH7993, and takeH5375 up a lamentationH7015 on the bareH8205 heightsH8205; for Jehovah hath rejectedH3988 and forsaken the generationH1755 of his wrathH5678. 30For the children of JudahH3063 have done that which is evilH7451 in my sight, saith Jehovah: they have setH7760 their abominationsH8251 in the houseH1004 which is calledH7121 by my nameH8034, to defileH2930 it. 31And they have builtH1129 the highH1116 placesH1116 of TophethH8612, which is in the valleyH1516 of the sonH1121 of HinnomH2011, to burnH8313 their sonsH1121 and their daughtersH1323 in the fireH784; which I commandedH6680 not, neither cameH5927 it into my mind. 32ThereforeH3651, behold, the daysH3117 comeH935, saith Jehovah, that it shall no more be called TophethH8612, nor The valleyH1516 of the sonH1121 of HinnomH2011, but The valleyH1516 of SlaughterH2028: for they shall buryH6912 in TophethH8612, till there be no placeH4725 to buryH6912. 33And the dead bodies of this peopleH5971 shall beH1961 foodH3978 for the birdsH5775 of the heavensH8064, and for the beasts of the earthH776; and none shall frighten them away. 34Then will I cause to ceaseH7673 from the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063, and from the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389, the voiceH6963 of mirth and the voiceH6963 of gladnessH8057, the voiceH6963 of the bridegroom and the voiceH6963 of the brideH3618; for the landH776 shall becomeH1961 a wasteH2723.
