Jeremiah 14:17-22
17And thou shalt sayH559 this wordH1697 unto them, Let mine eyesH5869 run down with tearsH1832 nightH3915 and dayH3119, and let them not ceaseH1820; for the virginH1330 daughterH1323 of my peopleH5971 is brokenH7665 with a greatH1419 breach, with a veryH3966 grievous woundH4347. 18If I goH3318 forthH3318 into the fieldH7704, then, behold, the slainH2491 with the swordH2719! and if I enter into the cityH5892, then, behold, they that are sick with famineH7458! for both the prophetH5030 and the priestH3548 goH3318 about in the landH776, and have no knowledge.
19Hast thou utterly rejectedH3988 JudahH3063? hath thy soulH5315 loathed ZionH6726? whyH4069 hast thou smitten us, and there is no healingH4832 for us? We looked for peaceH7965, but no goodH2896 came; and for a timeH6256 of healingH4832, and, behold, dismay! 20We acknowledge, O Jehovah, our wickednessH7562, and the iniquityH5771 of our fathersH1; for we have sinnedH2398 against thee. 21Do not abhor us, for thy name’sH8034 sakeH4616; do not disgrace the throneH3678 of thy gloryH3519: rememberH2142, breakH6565 not thy covenantH1285 with us. 22Are there any among the vanitiesH1892 of the nationsH1471 that can cause rain? or can the heavensH8064 giveH5414 showersH7241? art not thou he, O Jehovah our GodH430? therefore we will waitH6960 for thee; for thou hast madeH6213 all these thingsH428.
