Jeremiah 14:17-22
17You are to speakH559 thisH2088 wordH1697 to themH413:
‘My eyesH5869 overflowH3381 with tearsH1832;dayH3119 and nightH3915 they do notH408 ceaseH1820,forH3588 the virginH1330 daughterH1323 of my peopleH5971has been shatteredH7667 by a crushingH1419 blowH7665,a severelyH3966 grievousH2470 woundH4347.18IfH518 I go outH3318 to the countryH7704,I seeH2009 those slainH2491 by the swordH2719;ifH518 I enterH935 the cityH5892,I seeH2009 those ravagedH8463 by famineH7458!ForH3588 bothH1571 prophetH5030 andH1571 priestH3548travelH5503 toH413 a landH776 they do notH3808 knowH3045.’”
19Have You rejectedH3988 JudahH3063 completelyH3988H518?Do YouH5315 despiseH1602 ZionH6726?WhyH4069 have You stricken usH5221so that we are beyondH369 healingH4832?We hopedH6960 for peaceH7965,but noH369 good has comeH2896,and for the timeH6256 of healingH4832,but thereH2009 was only terrorH1205.20We acknowledgeH3045 our wickednessH7562, O LORDH3068,the guiltH5771 of our fathersH1;indeedH3588, we have sinnedH2398 against You.
21For the sake ofH4616 Your nameH8034 do notH408 despise usH5006;do notH408 disgraceH5034 Your gloriousH3519 throneH3678.RememberH2142 Your covenantH1285 with usH854;do notH408 break itH6565.22CanH3426 the worthless idolsH1892 of the nationsH1471 bring rainH1652?Do the skies aloneH8064 sendH5414 showersH7241?Is this notH3808 by YouH859H1931, O LORDH3068 our GodH430?So we put our hopeH6960 in You,forH3588 YouH859 have doneH6213 allH3605 these thingsH428.
