Isaiah 33:1-14
1WoeH1945 to thee that destroyest, and thou wast not destroyedH7703; and dealest treacherouslyH898, and they dealtH898 not treacherouslyH898 with thee! When thou hast ceased to destroyH7703, thou shalt be destroyedH7703; and when thou hast made an endH8552 of dealing treacherouslyH898, they shall dealH898 treacherouslyH898 with thee. 2O Jehovah, beH1961 gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: beH1961 thou our armH2220 every morningH1242, our salvationH3444 alsoH637 in the timeH6256 of troubleH6869. 3At the noise of the tumultH1995 the peoplesH5971 are fledH5074; at the lifting up of thyself the nationsH1471 are scatteredH5310. 4And your spoilH7998 shall be gatheredH622 as the caterpillar gathereth: as locusts leap shall men leap upon it. 5Jehovah is exaltedH7682; for he dwelleth on highH4791: he hath filledH4390 ZionH6726 with justiceH4941 and righteousnessH6666. 6And there shall beH1961 stability in thy timesH6256, abundance of salvationH3444, wisdomH2451, and knowledgeH1847: the fearH3374 of Jehovah is thy treasureH214.
7Behold, their valiant ones cryH6817 without; the ambassadors of peaceH7965 weepH1058 bitterly. 8The highwaysH4546 lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: the enemy hath brokenH6565 the covenantH1285, he hath despised the citiesH5892, he regardeth not man. 9The landH776 mourneth and languisheth; LebanonH3844 is confounded and withereth away; SharonH8289 is like a desertH6160; and BashanH1316 and CarmelH3760 shakeH5287 off their leaves. 10NowH6258 will I ariseH6965, saith Jehovah; nowH6258 will I liftH5375 up myself; nowH6258 will I be exaltedH7311. 11Ye shall conceiveH2029 chaffH7179, ye shall bringH3205 forthH3205 stubbleH7179: your breathH7307 is a fireH784 that shall devourH398 you. 12And the peoplesH5971 shall beH1961 as the burnings of limeH7875, as thornsH6975 cutH3683 down, that areH1961 burnedH3341 in the fireH784.
13HearH8085, ye that are farH7350 off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might. 14The sinnersH2400 in ZionH6726 are afraidH6342; trembling hath seizedH270 the godlessH2611 ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouringH398 fireH784? who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?
