Isaiah 28:1-13
1WoeH1945 to the crownH5850 of pride of the drunkardsH7910 of EphraimH669, and to the fading flowerH6731 of his glorious beautyH8597, which is on the headH7218 of the fat valleyH1516 of them that are overcome with wineH3196! 2Behold, the LordH136 hath a mightyH2389 and strongH2389 one; as a tempest of hailH1259, a destroying stormH2230, as a tempest of mightyH2389 watersH4325 overflowingH7857, will he cast down to the earthH776 with the handH3027. 3The crownH5850 of pride of the drunkardsH7910 of EphraimH669 shall be trodden under footH7272: 4and the fading flower of his glorious beautyH8597, which is on the headH7218 of the fat valleyH1516, shall beH1961 as the first-ripe fig before the summerH7019; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yetH5750 in his handH3709 he eateth it up. 5In that dayH3117 will Jehovah of hostsH6635 becomeH1961 a crownH5850 of gloryH8597, and a diadem of beautyH8597, unto the residue of his peopleH5971; 6and a spiritH7307 of justiceH4941 to him that sitteth in judgmentH4941, and strengthH1369 to them that turnH7725 backH7725 the battleH4421 at the gateH8179.
7And even these reelH7686 with wineH3196, and staggerH8582 with strongH7941 drinkH7941; the priestH3548 and the prophetH5030 reelH7686 with strongH7941 drinkH7941, they are swallowedH1104 up of wineH3196, they staggerH8582 with strongH7941 drinkH7941; they errH8582 in vision, they stumble in judgment. 8For all tablesH7979 are fullH4390 of vomitH6892 and filthiness, so that there is no placeH4725 clean.
9Whom will he teachH3384 knowledgeH1844? and whom will he make to understandH995 the messageH8052? them that are weanedH1580 from the milkH2461, and drawn from the breastsH7699? 10For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a littleH2191, there a littleH2191.
11Nay, but bymen of strange lipsH8193 and with another tongueH3956 will he speakH1696 to this peopleH5971; 12to whom he saidH559, This is the restH5117, giveH5117 ye restH5117 to him that is wearyH5889; and this is the refreshing: yet they wouldH14 not hearH8085. 13Therefore shall the wordH1697 of Jehovah beH1961 unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a littleH2191, there a littleH2191; that they may go, and fall backwardH268, and beH1961 brokenH7665, and snared, and takenH3920.
