1In thoseἐκείναιςekeinaisG1565daysἡμέραιςhēmeraisG2250,when there was againπάλινpalinG3825a largeπολλοῦpollouG4183crowdὄχλουochlouG3793and they hadἐχόντωνechontōnG2192nothingμὴmēG3361 G5100to eatG2068, JesussummonedπροσκαλεσάμενοςproskalesamenosG4341His disciplesμαθητὰςmathētasG3101and saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them,

2“I feelG4697compassionσπλαγχνίζομαιsplagchnizomaiG4697for thepeopleὄχλονochlonG3793becauseὅτιhotiG3754they have remainedπροσμένουσίνprosmenousinG4357with Me for threeτρεῖςtreisG5140daysἡμέραιhēmeraiG2250alreadyἤδηēdēG2235and haveἔχουσινechousinG2192nothingοὐκoukG3756 G5100to eatG2068.

3And ifἐὰνeanG1437I sendἀπολύσωapolusōG630them awayG630hungryνήστειςnēsteisG3523to their homesοἶκονoikonG3624,they will faintἐκλυθήσονταιekluthēsontaiG1590on the wayὁδῷ·hodōG3598;and someτινεςtinesG5100of them haveG1510comeG1510from a greatG3113distanceG3113.”

4And His disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101repliedἀπεκρίθησανapekrithēsanG611to Him, “WhereπόθενpothenG4159will anyoneτιςtisG5100be ableδυνήσεταίdunēsetaiG1410to find enoughbreadἄρτωνartōnG740hereὧδεhōdeG5602in thisdesolateG2047placeἐρημίας;erēmiasG2047to satisfyχορτάσαιchortasaiG5526theseG3778peopleG3778?”

5And He was askingἠρώταērōtaG2065them,“HowπόσουςposousG4214manyG4214loavesἄρτους;artousG740do you haveἔχετεecheteG2192?”And they saidG3004, “Sevenἑπτά.heptaG2033.”

6And He directedπαραγγέλλειparangelleiG3853thepeopleὄχλῳochlōG3793to reclineἀναπεσεῖνanapeseinG377on the groundγῆς,gēsG1093;and takingλαβὼνlabōnG2983the sevenἑπτὰheptaG2033loavesἄρτους,artousG740,He gaveG2168thanksεὐχαριστήσαςeucharistēsasG2168and brokeἔκλασενeklasenG2806them, and started givingἐδίδουedidouG1325them to His disciplesμαθηταῖςmathētaisG3101to serveπαρατιθῶσιν·paratithōsinG3908,and they servedπαρέθηκανparethēkanG3908them to thepeopleὄχλῳ.ochlōG3793.

7They alsoκαὶkaiG2532hadεἶχονeichonG2192a fewὀλίγα·oligaG3641smallἰχθύδιαichthudiaG2485fishG2485; andafter He had blessedεὐλογήσαςeulogēsasG2127them, He toldG3004the disciplesto serveπαρατιθέναι.paratithenaiG3908theseταῦταtautaG3778asκαὶkaiG2532wellκαὶkaiG2532.

8And they ateG2068and were satisfiedἐχορτάσθησαν,echortasthēsanG5526;and they pickedG142upG142sevenἑπτὰheptaG2033largeG4711basketsσπυρίδας.spuridasG4711fullof whatG4051wasG4051leftG4051overG4051of the brokenG2801piecesG2801.

9AboutὡςhōsG5613fourτετρακισχίλιοι·tetrakischilioiG5070thousandG5070men were there;and He dismissedἀπέλυσενapelusenG630them.

10And immediatelyG2117He gotG1684intoG1684the boatπλοῖονploionG4143with His disciplesμαθητῶνmathētōnG3101and cameἦλθενēlthenG2064to the regionμέρηmerēG3313ofDalmanuthaΔαλμανουθά.DalmanouthaG1148.

11And the PhariseesΦαρισαῖοιPharisaioiG5330cameG1831outG1831and beganἤρξαντοērxantoG757to argueσυζητεῖνsuzēteinG4802with Him,demandingζητοῦντεςzētountesG2212from Him asignσημεῖονsēmeionG4592from heavenοὐρανοῦ,ouranouG3772,to testπειράζοντεςpeirazontesG3985Him.

12SighingG389deeplyG389in His spiritπνεύματιpneumatiG4151,He saidλέγει·legeiG3004,“WhyτίtiG5101does thisαὕτηhautēG3778generationγενεὰgeneaG1074demandζητεῖzēteiG2212asignσημεῖον;sēmeionG4592?TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you,noεἰeiG1487signσημεῖον.sēmeionG4592will be givenδοθήσεταιdothēsetaiG1325to thisταύτῃtautēG3778generationγενεᾷgeneaG1074!”

13And leavingἀφεὶςapheisG863them, He againπάλινpalinG3825embarkedἐμβὰςembasG1684and wentG565awayἀπῆλθενapēlthenG565to the otherπέραν.peranG4008sideG4008.

14And the discipleshad forgottenἐπελάθοντοepelathontoG1950to takeλαβεῖνlabeinG2983breadἄρτουςartousG740,and did not haveεἶχονeichonG2192moreG1508thanG1508oneἕναhenaG1520loafἄρτονartonG740in the boatπλοίῳ.ploiōG4143with them.

15And He was givingG1291ordersG1291to them, sayingλέγων·legōnG3004, “Watchὁρᾶτε,horateG3708outG3708!BewareβλέπετεblepeteG991of theleavenζύμηςzumēsG2219of the PhariseesΦαρισαίωνPharisaiōnG5330,and the leavenζύμηςzumēsG2219ofHerodἩρῴδου.HērōdouG2264.”

16And they beganto discussδιελογίζοντοdielogizontoG1260with oneἀλλήλουςallēlousG240anotherG240the factthat they hadἔχουσιν.echousinG2192noοὐκoukG3756breadἄρτουςartousG740.

17And JesusG2424,awareγνοὺςgnousG1097of this, saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them,“WhyτίtiG5101are you discussingδιαλογίζεσθεdialogizestheG1260the factthat you haveἔχετε;echeteG2192noοὐκoukG3756breadἄρτουςartousG740?Do you not yetοὔπωoupōG3768comprehendνοεῖτεnoeiteG3539orοὐδὲoudeG3761understandσυνίετε;sunieteG4920? Do you stillhaveἔχετεecheteG2192your heartκαρδίανkardianG2588hardenedπεπωρωμένηνpepōrōmenēnG4456?

18HavingἔχοντεςechontesG2192eyesὀφθαλμοὺςophthalmousG3788,do you not seeβλέπετε,blepeteG991?And havingἔχοντεςechontesG2192earsὦταōtaG3775,do you not hearἀκούετε;akoueteG191?And do you not rememberμνημονεύετε;mnēmoneueteG3421,

19whenὅτεhoteG3753I brokeἔκλασαeklasaG2806the fiveπέντεpenteG4002loavesἄρτουςartousG740for the fiveπεντακισχιλίουςpentakischiliousG4000thousandG4000,howπόσουςposousG4214manyG4214basketsκοφίνουςkophinousG2894fullπλήρειςplēreisG4134of brokenG2801piecesG2801you pickedG142upG142?”They saidλέγουσινlegousinG3004to Him, “Twelveδώδεκα.dōdekaG1427.”

20“WhenὅτεhoteG3753I brokethe sevenἑπτὰheptaG2033for the fourτετρακισχιλίουςtetrakischiliousG5070thousandG5070,howπόσωνposōnG4214manyG4214largeG4711basketsσπυρίδωνspuridōnG4711fullπληρώματαplērōmataG4138of brokenG2801piecesG2801did you pickG142upG142?”And they saidλέγουσινlegousinG3004to Him, “Sevenἑπτά.heptaG2033.”

21And He was sayingἔλεγενelegenG3004to them, “Do you not yetοὔπωoupōG3768understandσυνίετε;¶sunieteG4920?”
