12On the nextἐπαύριονepaurionG1887dayG1887,when they had leftἐξελθόντωνexelthontōnG1831BethanyΒηθανίαςBēthaniasG963,He became hungryἐπείνασεν.epeinasenG3983.

13SeeingG3708from a distanceμακρόθενmakrothenG3113a figσυκῆνsukēnG4808treeG4808in leafφύλλαphullaG5444,He wentἦλθενēlthenG2064to seeifG1487perhapsἄραaraG686He would findεὑρήσειheurēseiG2147anythingτιtiG5100on it; and when He cameἐλθὼνelthōnG2064to it, He foundεὗρενheurenG2147nothingοὐδὲνoudenG3762but leavesφύλλα·phullaG5444,for it was not the seasonκαιρὸςkairosG2540for figsσύκων.sukōnG4810.

14And He saidG3004to it,“May noG3367oneμηδεὶςmēdeisG3367everεἰς αἰῶναeis aiōnaG1519 G165eatG2068fruitκαρπὸνkarponG2590from you againμηκέτιmēketiG3371!”And His disciplesμαθηταὶmathētaiG3101were listeningἤκουονēkouonG191.

15ThenG2532they cameἔρχονταιerchontaiG2064to JerusalemἹεροσόλυμα,Hi'erosolumaG2414.And He enteredεἰσελθὼνeiselthōnG1525the templeG2413areaand beganἤρξατοērxatoG757to driveG1544outG1544thoseG3588who were sellingπωλοῦνταςpōlountasG4453and buyingἀγοράζονταςagorazontasG59on the templeG2413grounds,and He overturnedκατέστρεψενkatestrepsenG2690the tablesτραπέζαςtrapezasG5132of the moneyκολλυβιστῶνkollubistōnG2855changersG2855and the seatsκαθέδραςkathedrasG2515of thoseG3588who were sellingπωλούντωνpōlountōnG4453dovesπεριστερὰςperisterasG4058;

16and He would not allowἤφιενēphienG863anyoneτιςtisG5100to carryδιενέγκῃdienegkēG1308merchandiseσκεῦοςskeuosG4632throughδιὰdiaG1223the templeG2413grounds.

17And He beganto teachἐδίδασκενedidaskenG1321and sayἔλεγενelegenG3004to them,“Is it not writtenγέγραπταιgegraptaiG1125: ‘My houseοἶκόςoikosG3624will be calledκληθήσεταιklēthēsetaiG2564a houseοἶκοςoikosG3624of prayerπροσευχῆςproseuchēsG4335for allπᾶσινpasinG3956the nationsἔθνεσιν;ethnesinG1484’?But you have madeπεποιήκατεpepoiēkateG4160it adenσπήλαιονspēlaionG4693of robbersλῃστῶν.¶lēstōnG3027.”

18And the chiefἀρχιερεῖςarchiereisG749priestsG749and the scribesγραμματεῖςgrammateisG1122heardἤκουσανēkousanG191this, and they beganseekingἐζήτουνezētounG2212howπῶςpōsG4459to putG622Him toG622deathG622;for they wereG5399afraidἐφοβοῦντοephobountoG5399of Him, becauseG1063allπᾶςpasG3956the crowdὄχλοςochlosG3793was astonishedἐξεπλήσσετοexeplēssetoG1605at His teachingδιδαχῇdidachēaG1322.

19AndwheneverὅτανhotanG3752eveningὀψὲopseG3796cameἐγένετο,egenetoG1096,they would leaveἐξεπορεύοντοexeporeuontoG1607the cityπόλεως.poleōsG4172.

20As they were passingπαραπορευόμενοιparaporeuomenoiG3899by in the morningπρωῒprōiG4404,they sawG3708the figσυκῆνsukēnG4808treeG4808witheredἐξηραμμένηνexērammenēnG3583from the rootsῥιζῶν.rhizōnG4491up.

21And being remindedἀναμνησθεὶςanamnēstheisG363,PeterΠέτροςPetrosG4074saidλέγειlegeiG3004to Him, “Rabbiῥαββί,rhabbiG4461,lookἴδεideG2396,the figσυκῆsukēG4808treeG4808that You cursedκατηράσωkatērasōG2672has witheredἐξήρανται.¶exērantaiG3583.”

22And JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424answeredἀποκριθεὶςapokritheisG611and saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them, “HaveἔχετεecheteG2192faithπίστινpistinG4102in Godθεοῦ.theouG2316.

23TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you, whoeverὃς ἂνhos anG3739 G302saysG3004to thisτούτῳ·toutōG3778mountainὄρειoreiG3735, ‘Be takenG142upG142and thrownβλήθητιblēthētiG906into the seaθάλασσαν,thalassanG2281,’and does not doubtδιακριθῇdiakrithēaG1252in his heartκαρδίᾳkardiaG2588,but believesπιστεύῃpisteuēG4100that whatὃhoG3739he saysλαλεῖlaleiG2980is going to happenγίνεται,ginetaiG1096, it will be granted to him.

24Thereforeδιὰ τοῦτοdia toutoG1223 G3778,I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you,allG3956thingsπάνταpantaG3956for whichὅσαhosaG3745you prayπροσεύχεσθεproseuchestheG4336and askαἰτεῖσθε,aiteistheG154,believeπιστεύετεpisteueteG4100that you have receivedἐλάβετε,elabeteG2983them, and they will be granted to you.

25And wheneverὅτανhotanG3752youstandστήκετεstēketeG4739prayingπροσευχόμενοι,proseuchomenoiG4336,forgiveἀφίετεaphieteG863,ifεἴeiG1487you haveἔχετεecheteG2192anythingτιtiG5100againstκατάkataG2596anyoneτινοςtinosG5100,soἵναinaG2443thatG2443your FatherπατὴρpatērG3962whoG3588is in heavenοὐρανοῖςouranoisG3772will alsoG2532forgiveἀφῇaphēaG863you for youroffensesπαραπτώματαparaptōmataG3900.
