Romans 6:4-23
4ThereforeG3767 we have been 1buriedG4916 with Him throughG1223 baptismG908 into deathG2288, soG3779 that as ChristG5547 was 2raisedG1453 from the deadG3498 throughG1223 the 3gloryG1391 of the FatherG3962, soG3779 we tooG2532 might walkG4043 in 4newnessG2538 of lifeG2222. 5For 5ifG1487 we have becomeG1096 6unitedG4854 with Him in the likenessG3667 of His deathG2288, certainlyG235 we shall alsoG2532 be 7in the likeness of His resurrectionG386, 6knowingG1097 thisG3778, that our 8oldG3820 9selfG444 was 10crucifiedG4957 with Him, in orderG2443 that our 11bodyG4983 of sinG266 might be 12doneG2673 awayG2673 with, so that we would noG3371 longerG3371 be slavesG1398 to sinG266; 7for 13he who has diedG599 is 14freedG1344 from sinG266.
8NowG1161 15ifG1487 we have diedG599 with ChristG5547, we believeG4100 that we shall alsoG2532 liveG4800 with Him, 9knowingG3609 that ChristG5547, having been 16raisedG1453 from the deadG3498, 17is neverG3765 to dieG599 againG3765; 18deathG2288 noG3765 longerG3765 is masterG2961 overG2961 Him. 10For the death that He diedG599, He diedG599 to sinG266 onceG2178 for allG2178; but the lifeG2198 that He livesG2198, He livesG2198 to GodG2316. 11EvenG2532 soG3779 considerG3049 yourselvesG1438 to be 19deadG3498 to sinG266, but aliveG2198 to GodG2316 in ChristG5547 JesusG2424.
12ThereforeG3767 do not let sinG266 20reignG936 in your mortalG2349 bodyG4983 soG1519 that you obeyG5219 its lustsG1939, 13and do not go on 21presentingG3936 22the membersG3196 of your body to sinG266 as 23instrumentsG3696 of unrighteousnessG93; but 24presentG3936 yourselvesG1438 to GodG2316 as those aliveG2198 from the deadG3498, and your membersG3196 as 25instrumentsG3696 of righteousnessG1343 to GodG2316. 14For 26sinG266 shall not 27be masterG2961 overG2961 you, for 28you are not underG5259 lawG3551 but 29underG5259 graceG5485.
15WhatG5101 thenG3767? 30Shall we sinG264 becauseG3754 we are not underG5259 lawG3551 but underG5259 graceG5485? 31May it neverG3361 be! 16Do you not 32knowG3609 that whenG3739 you presentG3936 yourselvesG1438 to someoneG3739 as 33slavesG1401 for obedienceG5218, you are slavesG1401 of the one whomG3739 you obeyG5219, eitherG2273 of 34sinG266 35resultingG1519 in deathG2288, orG2228 of obedienceG5218 36resultingG1519 in righteousnessG1343? 17But 37thanksG5485 be to GodG2316 that 38though you were slavesG1401 of sinG266, you becameG5219 obedientG5219 from the heartG2588 to that 39formG5179 of teachingG1322 to whichG3739 you were committedG3860, 18and having been 40freedG1659 from sinG266, you becameG1402 slavesG1402 of righteousnessG1343. 1941I am speakingG3004 in humanG442 termsG442 becauseG1223 of the weaknessG769 of your fleshG4561. For justG5618 42as you presentedG3936 your membersG3196 as slavesG1401 to impurityG167 and to lawlessnessG458, 43resultingG1519 in further lawlessnessG458, soG3779 nowG3568 presentG3936 your membersG3196 as slavesG1401 to righteousnessG1343, 44resultingG1519 in sanctificationG38.
20For 45whenG3753 you were slavesG1401 of sinG266, you were freeG1658 in regard to righteousnessG1343. 21ThereforeG3767 whatG5101 4647benefitG2590 were you thenG5119 48derivingG2192 49from the things of whichG3739 you are nowG3568 ashamedG1870? For the outcomeG5056 of thoseG1565 thingsG1565 is 50deathG2288. 22But nowG3570 having been 51freedG1659 from sinG266 and 52enslavedG1402 to GodG2316, you 53deriveG2192 your 5455benefitG2590, 56resultingG1519 in sanctificationG38, and 57the outcomeG5056, eternalG166 lifeG2222. 23For the wagesG3800 of 58sinG266 is deathG2288, but the freeG5486 giftG5486 of GodG2316 is 59eternalG166 lifeG2222 in ChristG5547 JesusG2424 our LordG2962.
