Romans 2
The Impartiality of God
1ThereforeG1352 you haveG1510 1noG379 excuseG379, 23everyoneG444G3956 of you who passesG2919 judgmentG2919, for in that whichG3739 4you judgeG2919 anotherG2087, you condemnG2632 yourselfG4572; for you who judgeG2919 practiceG4238 the sameG846 thingsG846. 2And we knowG3609 that the judgmentG2917 of GodG2316 5rightlyG2596G225 fallsG1510 upon thoseG3588 who practiceG4238 suchG5108 thingsG5108. 3But do you supposeG3049 thisG3778, 6OG5599 manG444, 7when you passG2919 judgmentG2919 on thoseG3588 who practiceG4238 suchG5108 thingsG5108 and doG4160 the sameG846 yourself, that you will escapeG1628 the judgmentG2917 of GodG2316? 4OrG2228 do you thinkG2706 lightlyG2706 of 8the richesG4149 of His 9kindnessG5544 and 10toleranceG463 and 11patienceG3115, not knowingG50 that the kindnessG5543 of GodG2316 leadsG71 you to repentanceG3341? 5But 12becauseG2596 of your stubbornnessG4643 and unrepentantG279 heartG2588 13you are storingG2343 up wrathG3709 for yourselfG4572 14in the dayG2250 of wrathG3709 and revelationG602 of the righteousG1341 judgmentG1341 of GodG2316, 615whoG3739 will renderG591 to eachG1538 personG1538 accordingG2596 to his deedsG2041: 7to thoseG3588 who by 16perseveranceG5281 in doingG2041 goodG18 seekG2212 for 17gloryG1391 and honorG5092 and 18immortalityG861, 19eternalG166 lifeG2222; 8but to thoseG3588 who are 20selfishlyG2052 ambitiousG2052 and 21do not obeyG544 the truthG225, but obeyG3982 unrighteousnessG93, wrathG3709 and indignationG2372. 9There will be 22tribulationG2347 and distressG4730 23for everyG3956 soulG5590 of manG444 who doesG2716 evilG2556, of the JewG2453 24firstG4413 and alsoG5037 of the GreekG1672, 10but 25gloryG1391 and honorG5092 and peaceG1515 to everyoneG3956 who doesG2038 goodG18, to the JewG2453 26firstG4413 and alsoG5037 to the GreekG1672. 11For 27there is noG3756 partialityG4382 with GodG2316.
12For allG3745 whoG3745 have sinnedG264 2829withoutG460 the LawG460 will alsoG2532 perishG622 30withoutG460 the LawG460, and allG3745 whoG3745 have sinnedG264 31underG1722 the LawG3551 will be judgedG2919 32by the LawG3551; 13for it is 33not the hearersG202 34of the LawG3551 who are 35justG1342 beforeG3844 GodG2316, but the doersG4163 36of the LawG3551 will be justifiedG1344. 14For whenG3752 GentilesG1484 who do not haveG2192 37the LawG3551 doG4160 3839instinctivelyG5449 the things of the LawG3551, theseG3778, not havingG2192 40the LawG3551, are a lawG3551 to themselvesG1438, 15in that they showG1731 41the workG2041 of the LawG3551 writtenG1123 in their heartsG2588, their conscienceG4893 bearingG4828 witnessG4828 and their thoughtsG3053 alternatelyG3342 accusingG2723 orG2228 elseG2532 defendingG626 them, 16on the dayG2250 whenG3739, 42accordingG2596 to my gospelG2098, 43GodG2316 will judgeG2919 the secretsG2927 of menG444 throughG1223 ChristG5547 JesusG2424.
The Jew Is Condemned by the Law
17But ifG1487 you bearG2028 the nameG2028 “JewG2453” and 44relyG1879 45upon the LawG3551 and boastG2744 in GodG2316, 18and knowG1097 His willG2307 and 4647approveG1381 the things that are essentialG1308, being instructedG2727 out of the LawG3551, 19and are confidentG3982 that you yourselfG4572 are a guideG3595 to the blindG5185, a lightG5457 to thoseG3588 who are in darknessG4655, 20a 48correctorG3810 of the foolishG878, a teacherG1320 of 49the immatureG3516, havingG2192 in the LawG3551 50the embodimentG3446 of knowledgeG1108 and of the truthG225, 21you, thereforeG3767, 51who teachG1321 anotherG2087, do you not teachG1321 yourselfG4572? You who 52preachG2784 that one shall not stealG2813, do you stealG2813? 22You who sayG3004 that one should not commitG3431 adulteryG3431, do you commitG3431 adulteryG3431? You who abhorG948 idolsG1497, do you 53robG2416 templesG2416? 23You whoG3739 54boastG2744 55in the LawG3551, throughG1223 your breakingG3847 the LawG3551, do you dishonorG818 GodG2316? 24For “56the nameG3686 of GodG2316 is blasphemedG987 amongG1722 the GentilesG1484 57becauseG1223 of you,” justG2531 as it is writtenG1125.
25For indeedG3303 circumcisionG4061 is of valueG5623 ifG1437 you 58practiceG4238 59the LawG3551; but ifG1437 you are a transgressorG3848 60of the LawG3551, 61your circumcisionG4061 has becomeG1096 uncircumcisionG203. 2662SoG3767 ifG1437 63the 64uncircumcisedG203 manG203 65keepsG5442 the requirementsG1345 of the LawG3551, will not his uncircumcisionG203 be regardedG3049 as circumcisionG4061? 27And 66he who is physicallyG5449 uncircumcisedG203, if he keepsG5055 the LawG3551, will he not 67judgeG2919 you whoG3588 68thoughG1223 having the letterG1121 of the Law and circumcisionG4061 are a transgressorG3848 69of the LawG3551? 28For 70he is not a JewG2453 whoG3588 is one outwardlyG1722G5318, norG3761 is circumcisionG4061 that which is outwardG5318 in the fleshG4561. 29But 71he is a JewG2453 whoG3588 is one inwardlyG2927; and 72circumcisionG4061 is that which is of the heartG2588, by the 73SpiritG4151, not by the letterG1121; 74and his praiseG1868 is not from menG444, but from GodG2316.
