16And He cameἦλθενēlthenG2064toNazarethΝαζαρὰNazaraG3478,whereοὗhouG3757He had beenἦνēnG1510broughtτεθραμμένος,tethrammenosG5142up; and as was His customεἰωθὸςeiōthosG1486,He enteredεἰσῆλθενeisēlthenG1525the synagogueσυναγωγὴνsunagōgēnG4864on the SabbathσαββάτωνsabbatōnG4521, andstoodἀνέστηanestēG450up to readἀναγνῶναι.anagnōnaiG314.

17And thebookβιβλίονbiblionG975of the prophetπροφήτουprophētouG4396IsaiahἨσαΐου·ĒsaiouG2268was handedἐπεδόθηepedothēG1929to Him. And He openedG455thebookβιβλίονbiblionG975and foundεὗρενheurenG2147the placeτόπονtoponG5117whereοὗhouG3757it was writtenγεγραμμένονgegrammenonG1125,

18“The SpiritπνεῦμαpneumaG4151of the LordκυρίουkuriouG2962is upon Me,Becauseοὗ εἵνεκενhou einekenG3739 G1752He anointedἔχρισένechrisenG5548Me to preachG2097the gospelG2097to the poorπτωχοῖς,ptōchoisG4434.He has sentἀπέσταλκένapestalkenG649Me to proclaimκηρύξαιkēruxaiG2784releaseἄφεσινaphesinG859to the captivesαἰχμαλώτοιςaichmalōtoisG164,And recoveryG309of sightG309to the blindτυφλοῖςtuphloisG5185,To setἀποστεῖλαιaposteilaiG649freeἐν ἀφέσει,en apheseiG1722 G859those who are oppressedτεθραυσμένουςtethrausmenousG2352,

19To proclaimκηρύξαιkēruxaiG2784the favorableδεκτόν.dektonG1184yearἐνιαυτὸνeniautonG1763of the LordκυρίουkuriouG2962.”

20And HeclosedπτύξαςptuxasG4428thebookβιβλίονbiblionG975,gaveG591it backG591to the attendantὑπηρέτῃhupēretēG5257andsatG2523downἐκάθισεν,ekathisenG2523;and the eyesὀφθαλμοὶophthalmoiG3788of allπάντωνpantōnG3956in the synagogueσυναγωγῇsunagōgēaG4864were fixedἀτενίζοντεςatenizontesG816on Him.

21And He beganἤρξατοērxatoG757to sayλέγεινlegeinG3004to them,“TodayσήμερονsēmeronG4594thisαὕτηhautēG3778ScriptureγραφὴgraphēG1124has been fulfilledπεπλήρωταιpeplērōtaiG4137in yourhearingὠσὶνōsinG3775.”

22And allπάντεςpantesG3956werespeakingG3140wellG3140of Him, and wonderingἐθαύμαζονethaumazonG2296at thegraciousχάριτοςcharitosG5485wordsλόγοιςlogoisG3056whichwere fallingἐκπορευομένοιςekporeuomenoisG1607from His lipsστόματοςstomatosG4750;and they were sayingἔλεγον·elegonG3004, “Is thisοὗτος;houtosG3778not Joseph’sἸωσὴφIōsēphG2501sonυἱόςhuiosG5207?”

23And He saidG3004to them,“NoG3843doubtG3843you will quoteG3004thisταύτην·tautēnG3778proverbπαραβολὴνparabolēnG3850to Me, ‘Physicianἰατρέ,iatreG2395,healθεράπευσονtherapeusonG2323yourselfG4572!WhateverὅσαhosaG3745we heardἠκούσαμενēkousamenG191was doneγενόμεναgenomenaG1096at CapernaumG2746,doποίησονpoiēsonG4160hereὧδεhōdeG5602inyour hometownπατρίδιpatridiG3968as wellG2532.’”

24And He saidλέγωlegōG3004,“TrulyἀμὴνamēnG281I sayG3004to you,noοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762prophetπροφήτηςprophētēsG4396is welcomeδεκτόςdektosG1184in his hometownπατρίδιpatridiG3968.

25But I sayλέγωlegōG3004to you in truthἀληθείαςalētheiasG225,there were manyπολλαὶpollaiG4183widowsχῆραιchēraiG5503in IsraelἸσραὴλIsraēlG2474in the daysἡμέραιςhēmeraisG2250of ElijahἨλίουĒliouG2243,whenὅτεhoteG3753the skyοὐρανὸςouranosG3772was shutἐκλείσθηekleisthēG2808up for threeτρίαtriaG5140yearsἔτηetēG2094and sixἕξ,hexG1803monthsμῆναςmēnasG3376,whenὡςhōsG5613a greatμέγαςmegasG3173famineλιμὸςlimosG3042cameἐγένετοegenetoG1096overG1909allπᾶσανpasanG3956the landγῆν·gēnG1093;

26and yet ElijahἨλίαςĒliasG2243was sentἐπέμφθηepemphthēG3992to noneοὐδεμίανoudemianG3762of them, butonlyεἰ μὴei mēG1487 G3361toZarephathΣάρεπταSareptaG4558, in the land ofSidonΣιδωνίαςSidōniasG4606,to a womanγυναῖκαgunaikaG1135who was a widowχήραν.chēranG5503.

27And there were manyπολλοὶpolloiG4183lepersλεπροὶleproiG3015in IsraelἸσραὴλIsraēlG2474in the timeἐπὶepiG1909of ElishaἘλισαίουElisaiouG1666the prophetπροφήτου·prophētouG4396;and noneοὐδεὶςoudeisG3762of them was cleansedἐκαθαρίσθηekatharisthēG2511, butonlyεἰ μὴei mēG1487 G3361NaamanG3483the SyrianΣύρος.¶SurosG4948.”

28And allπάντεςpantesG3956the peoplein the synagogueσυναγωγῇsunagōgēaG4864were filledG4092with rageθυμοῦthumouG2372as they heardἀκούοντεςakouontesG191theseG3778thingsταῦτα·tautaG3778;

29and they gotἀναστάντεςanastantesG450up anddroveἐξέβαλονexebalonG1544Him out of the cityπόλεωςpoleōsG4172,and ledἤγαγονēgagonG71Him to the browὀφρύοςophruosG3790of the hillὄρουςorousG3735on whichοὗhouG3739their cityπόλιςpolisG4172had been builtᾠκοδόμητοōkodomētoG3618,in orderὥστεhōsteG5620to throwG2630Him downG2630the cliffG2630.
