Psalms 10
1WhyH4100, Jehovah, standest thou afarH7350 off? [WhyH4100] hidest thou thyself in timesH6256 of distressH6869?2The wickedH7563, in his prideH1346, doth hotlyH1814 pursue the afflictedH6041. They shall be taken in the devices that they have imagined.3For the wickedH7563 boasteth of his soul's desireH8378, and he blesseth the covetous; he contemneth Jehovah.4The wickedH7563 [saith], in the haughtinessH1363 of his countenance, He doth not searchH1875 out: all his thoughts are, There is no 1GodH430!5His waysH1870 always succeed; thy judgmentsH4941 are far above out of his sight; [as for] all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.6He saith in his heartH3820, I shall not be moved; from generationH1755 to generationH1755 I shall be in no adversity.7His mouthH6310 is fullH4390 of cursing, and deceitH4820, and oppressionH8496; under his tongueH3956 is mischiefH5999 and iniquity.8He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in the secretH4565 placesH4565 doth he slayH2026 the innocentH5355: his eyesH5869 watch for the wretched.9He lieth in waitH693 secretly, like a lionH738 in his thicket; he lieth in waitH693 to catch the afflictedH6041: he doth catch the afflictedH6041, drawing him into his netH7568.10He croucheth, he boweth downH5307, that the wretched may fallH5307 by his strong onesH6099.11He saith in his heartH3820, 2GodH410 hath forgottenH7911, he hideth his faceH6440, he will never seeH7200 [it].12AriseH6965, Jehovah; O 3GodH410, liftH5375 up thy handH3027: forgetH7911 not the afflictedH6041.13Wherefore doth the wickedH7563 contemn 4GodH430? He hath saidH559 in his heartH3820, Thou wilt not requireH1875 [it].14Thou hast seenH7200 [it], for thou thyself beholdest troubleH5999 and vexation, to requite by thy handH3027. The wretched committeth himself unto thee; thou hast beenH1961 the helperH5826 of the fatherlessH3490.15BreakH7665 thou the armH2220 of the wickedH7563, and as for the evilH7451 man, seekH1875 out his wickednessH7562 [till] thou findH4672 none.16Jehovah is KingH4428 for everH5703 and everH5703: the nationsH1471 have perishedH6 out of his landH776.17Jehovah, thou hast heardH8085 the desireH8378 of the meek, thou hast establishedH3559 their heartH3820: thou causest thine earH241 to hearH8085,18To do justice to the fatherlessH3490 and the oppressed oneH4480, that the man of the earthH776 may terrify no moreH4480.
