Psalm 27
Darby Bible
[A Psalm] of David.
1Jehovah is my lightH216 and my salvationH3468; whom shall I fearH3372? Jehovah is the strength of my lifeH2416; of whom shall I be afraidH3372?2When evil-doers, mine adversaries and mine enemiesH341, came upon me to eatH398 up my fleshH1320, they stumbledH3782 and fellH5307.3If a host encampH2583 against me, my heartH3820 shall not fearH3372; if warH4421 riseH6965 against me, in this will I be confidentH982.4OneH259 [thing] have I askedH7592 of Jehovah, that will I seekH1245 after: that I may dwellH3427 in the houseH1004 of Jehovah all the daysH3117 of my life, to beholdH2372 the beauty of Jehovah, and to inquire [of him] in his temple.5For in the dayH3117 of evilH7451 he will hideH5641 me in his pavilion; in the secret of his tentH168 will he keep me concealedH5641: he will set me highH7311 upon a rockH6697.6And nowH6258 shall my headH7218 be liftedH7311 up above mine enemiesH341 roundH5439 about me; and I will offerH2076 in his tentH168 sacrificesH2077 of shoutsH8643 of joyH8643: I will singH2167, yea, I will singH2167 psalms unto Jehovah.7HearH8085, Jehovah; with my voiceH6963 do I callH7121; be gracious unto me, and answerH6030 me.8My heartH3820 saidH559 for thee, SeekH1245 ye my faceH6440. Thy faceH6440, O Jehovah, will I seekH1245.9HideH5641 not thy faceH6440 from me; put not thy servantH5650 away in angerH639: thou hast beenH1961 my helpH5833; cast me not off, neither forsake me, O 1GodH430 of my salvationH3468.10For had my fatherH1 and my motherH517 forsaken me, then had Jehovah taken me up.11TeachH3384 me thy wayH1870, Jehovah, and leadH5148 me in an even pathH734, because of mine enemies.12Deliver me not over to the will of mine adversaries; for false witnessesH5707 are risenH6965 up against me, and such as breathe out violenceH2555.13Unless I had believedH539 to seeH7200 the goodnessH2898 of Jehovah in the landH776 of the living...!14WaitH6960 for Jehovah; be strongH2388 and let thy heartH3820 takeH2388 courage: yea, waitH6960 for Jehovah.
