Psalms 10
1WhyH4100 standest thou afarH7350 off, O Jehovah? WhyH4100 hidest thou thyself in timesH6256 of troubleH6869?2In the prideH1346 of the wickedH7563 the poorH6041 is hotlyH1814 pursued; Let them be taken in the devices that they have conceived.3For the wickedH7563 boasteth of his heart’s desireH8378, And the covetous renounceth, yea, contemneth Jehovah.4The wickedH7563, in the pride of his countenance, saith, He will not requireH1875it. All his thoughts are, There is no GodH430.5His waysH1870 are firm at all timesH6256; Thy judgmentsH4941 are far above out of his sight: As for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.6He saith in his heartH3820, I shall not be moved; To all generationsH1755 I shall not be in adversity.7His mouthH6310 is fullH4390 of cursing and deceitH4820 and oppressionH8496: Under his tongueH3956 is mischiefH5999 and iniquity.8He sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; In the secretH4565 placesH4565 doth he murder the innocentH5355; His eyesH5869 are privily set against the helpless.9He lurketh in secretH4565 as a lionH738 in his covert; He lieth in waitH693 to catch the poorH6041: He doth catch the poorH6041, when he draweth him in his netH7568.10He croucheth, he boweth downH5307, And the helpless fallH5307 by his strong onesH6099.11He saith in his heartH3820: GodH410 hath forgottenH7911; He hideth his faceH6440, he will never seeH7200 it.12AriseH6965, O Jehovah; O GodH410, liftH5375 up thy handH3027: ForgetH7911 not the poorH6041.13Wherefore doth the wickedH7563 contemn GodH430, And sayH559 in his heartH3820, Thou wilt not requireH1875it?14Thou hast seenH7200it; for thou beholdest mischiefH5999 and spite, to requite it with thy handH3027: The helpless committeth himself unto thee; Thou hast beenH1961 the helperH5826 of the fatherlessH3490.15BreakH7665 thou the armH2220 of the wickedH7563; And as for the evilH7451 man, seekH1875 out his wickednessH7562 till thou findH4672 none.16Jehovah is KingH4428 for everH5703 and everH5703: The nationsH1471 are perishedH6 out of his landH776.17Jehovah, thou hast heardH8085 the desireH8378 of the meek: Thou wilt prepareH3559 their heartH3820, thou wilt cause thine earH241 to hearH8085;18To judgeH8199 the fatherlessH3490 and the oppressed, That man who is of the earthH776 may be terrible no moreH4480.
