2 Chronicles 26:1-15

1And all the peopleH5971 of JudahH3063 tookH3947 UzziahH5818, who was sixteen yearsH8141 old, and made him kingH4427 instead of his fatherH1 AmaziahH558.

2It was he that builtH1129 Eloth, and restoredH7725 it to JudahH3063, after the kingH4428 slept with his fathersH1.

3UzziahH5818 was sixteen yearsH8141 old when he began to reignH4427; and he reignedH4427 fifty-twoH2572 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389; and his mother's nameH8034 was Jecholiah of JerusalemH3389.

4And he did what was rightH3477 in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his fatherH1 AmaziahH558 had done.

5And he soughtH1875 1GodH430 in the daysH3117 of ZechariahH2148, who had understandingH995 in the visions of 2GodH430; and in the daysH3117 that he soughtH1875 Jehovah, 3GodH430 made him to prosperH6743.

6And he wentH3318 forthH3318 and foughtH3898 against the PhilistinesH6430, and brokeH6555 down the wallH2346 of GathH1661, and the wallH2346 of Jabneh, and the wallH2346 of AshdodH795; and builtH1129 citiesH5892 about AshdodH795, and among the PhilistinesH6430.

7And 4GodH430 helpedH5826 him against the PhilistinesH6430, and against the Arabians that dweltH3427 in Gur-Baal, and the Maonites.

8And the AmmonitesH5984 gaveH5414 giftsH4503 to UzziahH5818: and his nameH8034 spread abroad to the entrance of EgyptH4714; for he becameH2388 exceeding strongH2388.

9And UzziahH5818 builtH1129 towersH4026 in JerusalemH3389 at the cornerH6438 gateH8179, and at the valleyH1516 gateH8179, and at the angle, and fortified them.

10And he builtH1129 towersH4026 in the desert and digged manyH7227 cisternsH953; for he had muchH7227 cattle, both in the lowland and on the plateau, husbandmen [also] and vinedressersH3755 on the mountainsH2022 and in CarmelH3760; for he lovedH157 husbandry.

11And UzziahH5818 had an armyH2428 of fighting men, that wentH3318 out to warH4421 by bandsH1416, according to the numberH4557 of their account by the handH3027 of JeielH3273 the scribeH5608 and MaaseiahH4641 the ruler, under the handH3027 of HananiahH2608, one of the king's captains.

12The whole numberH4557 of the chiefH7218 fathersH1 of the mightyH1368 menH1368 of valour was twoH3967 thousandH505 sixH8337 hundredH3967.

13And under their handH3027 was an army-host of threeH7969 hundredH3967 and sevenH7651 thousandH505 fiveH2568 hundredH3967, that madeH6213 warH4421 with mighty power to helpH5826 the kingH4428 against the enemyH341.

14And UzziahH5818 preparedH3559 for them, throughout the hostH6635, shieldsH4043, and spearsH7420, and helmetsH3553, and coats of mail, and bowsH7198, and even slinging-stones.

15And he madeH6213 in JerusalemH3389 machines invented by skilful men, to beH1961 upon the towersH4026 and upon the bulwarks, wherewith to shootH3384 arrowsH2678 and greatH1419 stonesH68. And his nameH8034 spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helpedH5826, till he becameH1961 strongH2388.
