2 Chronicles 24:15-27

15And JehoiadaH3077 grew old and was full of daysH3117, and he diedH4191; he was a hundredH3967 and thirtyH7970 yearsH8141 old when he diedH4191. 16And they buriedH6912 him in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732 among the kingsH4428, because he had done goodH2896 in IsraelH3478, both toward 1GodH430 and toward his houseH1004. 17And after the deathH4194 of JehoiadaH3077 the princesH8269 of JudahH3063 cameH935 and madeH8085 obeisance to the kingH4428; thenH227 the kingH4428 hearkened to them. 18And they forsook the houseH1004 of Jehovah the 2GodH430 of their fathersH1, and servedH5647 the Asherahs and idolsH6091; and wrathH7110 came upon JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389 for this their trespass. 19And he sentH7971 prophetsH5030 among them to bringH7725 them again to Jehovah, and they testifiedH5749 against them; but they would not giveH238 earH238. 20And the SpiritH7307 of 3GodH430 came upon ZechariahH2148 the sonH1121 of JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548; and he stoodH5975 up above the peopleH5971 and saidH559 unto them, ThusH3541 saith 4GodH430: Wherefore do ye transgressH5674 the commandmentsH4687 of Jehovah? And ye cannot prosperH6743; for ye have forsaken Jehovah, and he hath forsaken you. 21And they conspired against him, and stonedH7275 him with stonesH68 at the commandH4687 of the kingH4428 in the courtH2691 of the houseH1004 of Jehovah. 22And kingH4428 JoashH3101 rememberedH2142 not the kindness which JehoiadaH3077 his fatherH1 had done to him, but slewH2026 his sonH1121. And whenH834 he diedH4191, he saidH559, Jehovah seeH7200 and requireH1875 [it]! 23And it cameH935 to pass at the end of the yearH8141 [that] the army of Syria cameH935 up against him; and they entered into JudahH3063 and JerusalemH3389, and destroyedH7843 all the princesH8269 of the peopleH5971 from among the peopleH5971, and sentH7971 all the spoilH7998 of them to the kingH4428 at DamascusH1834. 24Truly with a smallH4705 company of menH376 cameH935 the armyH2428 of the Syrians, but Jehovah delivered a veryH3966 great armyH2428 into their handH3027, because they had forsaken Jehovah the 5GodH430 of their fathersH1; and they executed judgmentH8201 upon JoashH3101. 25And when they had departed from him (for they leftH5800 him in greatH7227 diseases), his own servantsH5650 conspired against him for the bloodH1818 of the sonsH1121 of JehoiadaH3077 the priestH3548, and slewH2026 him on his bedH4296, and he diedH4191; and they buriedH6912 him in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732, but they did not buryH6912 him in the sepulchres of the kingsH4428. 26And these are they that conspired against him: ZabadH2066 the sonH1121 of ShimeathH8100 an Ammonitess, and JehozabadH3075 the sonH1121 of Shimrith a Moabitess. 27And as to his sonsH1121, and the greatnessH7230 of the burdens [laid] upon him, and the building of the houseH1004 of 6GodH430, behold, they are writtenH3789 in the treatise of the bookH5612 of the kingsH4428. And AmaziahH558 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.
