Luke 19:1-28
1And he enteredG1525 and was passingG1330 through JerichoG2410. 2And beholdG2400, a manG435 calledG2564 by nameG3686 Zacchæus; and he wasG1510 a chief publican, and he wasG1510 richG4145. 3And he soughtG2212 to seeG3708 JesusG2424 who he wasG1510; and could not for the crowdG3793, because he wasG1510 littleG3398 of statureG2244. 4And he ran on beforeG1715, and climbedG305 up into a sycomore tree to seeG3708 him: for he was to passG1330 that way. 5And whenG5613 JesusG2424 cameG2064 to the placeG5117, he lookedG308 up, and saidG3004 unto him, Zacchæus, make haste, and comeG2064 down; for to-day I must abideG3306 at thy houseG3624. 6And he made haste, and cameG2597 downG2597, and received him joyfully. 7And when they sawG3708 it, they all murmured, sayingG3004, He is goneG1525 in to lodge with a manG435 that is a sinnerG268. 8And Zacchæus stoodG2476, and saidG3004 unto the LordG2962, BeholdG2400, LordG2962, the halfG2255 of my goods I giveG1325 to the poorG4434; and if I have wrongfully exacted aught of any man, I restore fourfold. 9And JesusG2424 saidG3004 unto him, To-day isG1510 salvationG4991 comeG1096 to this houseG3624, forasmuch as he alsoG2532 isG1510 a sonG5207 of AbrahamG11. 10For the SonG5207 of manG444 cameG2064 to seekG2212 and to saveG4982 that which was lostG622.
11And as they heardG191 these thingsG3778, he addedG4369 and spake a parableG3850, because he wasG1510 nigh to JerusalemG2419, and because they supposed that the kingdomG932 of GodG2316 wasG1510 immediatelyG3916 to appear. 12He saidG3004 thereforeG3767, A certainG5100 nobleman wentG4198 into a far countryG5561, to receiveG2983 for himself a kingdomG932, and to returnG5290. 13And he calledG2564 tenG1176 servantsG1401 of his, and gaveG1325 them tenG1176 pounds, and saidG3004 unto them, Trade ye herewith till I comeG2064. 14But his citizensG4177 hatedG3404 him, and sentG649 an ambassage after him, sayingG3004, We will not that this manG3778 reignG936 over us. 15And it cameG1096 to passG1096, when he was comeG1096 back again, having receivedG2983 the kingdomG932, that he commanded these servantsG1401, unto whom he had givenG1325 the moneyG694, to be called to him, that he might knowG1097 what they had gained by trading. 16And the firstG4413 cameG3854 before him, sayingG3004, LordG2962, thy pound hath made tenG1176 pounds more. 17And he saidG3004 unto him, Well done, thou goodG18 servantG1401: because thou wast found faithfulG4103 in a very littleG1646, have thou authorityG1849 over tenG1176 citiesG4172. 18And the secondG1208 cameG2064, sayingG3004, Thy pound, LordG2962, hath madeG4160 fiveG4002 pounds. 19And he saidG3004 unto him alsoG2532, Be thou alsoG2532 over fiveG4002 citiesG4172. 20And another cameG2064, sayingG3004, LordG2962, beholdG2400, here is thy pound, which I kept laid up in a napkin: 21for I fearedG5399 thee, because thou art an austere manG444: thou takest up that which thou layedst not downG5087, and reapest that which thou didst not sowG4687. 22He saith unto him, Out of thine own mouthG4750 will I judgeG2919 thee, thou wickedG4190 servantG1401. Thou knewest that I amG1510 an austere manG444, takingG142 up that which I laidG5087 not downG5087, and reapingG2325 that which I did not sowG4687; 23then wherefore gavest thou not my moneyG694 into the bank, and I at my comingG2064 should have required it with interestG5110? 24And he saidG3004 unto them that stoodG3936 by, TakeG142 awayG142 from him the pound, and giveG1325 it unto him that hath the tenG1176 pounds. 25And they saidG3004 unto him, LordG2962, he hath tenG1176 pounds. 26I sayG3004 unto you, that unto every oneG3739 that hath shall be givenG1325; but from him that hath not, evenG2532 that which he hath shall be takenG142 awayG142 from him. 27But these mineG1473 enemiesG2190, that would not that I should reignG936 over them, bringG71 hither, and slay them before me.
28And when he had thus spoken, he wentG4198 on beforeG1715, goingG4198 up to JerusalemG2414.
