Jeremiah 44:2-14
2ThusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: Ye have seenH7200 all the evilH7451 that I have broughtH935 upon JerusalemH3389, and upon all the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063; and, behold, this dayH3117 they are a desolationH2723, and no man dwelleth therein, 3because of their wickednessH7451 which they have committed to provokeH3707 me to angerH3707, in that they went to burn incenseH6999, and to serveH5647 otherH312 godsH430, that they knewH3045 not, neither they, nor ye, nor your fathersH1. 4Howbeit I sentH7971 unto you all my servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030, risingH7925 up earlyH7925 and sendingH7971 them, sayingH559, Oh, do not this abominable thingH1697 that I hateH8130. 5But they hearkened not, nor inclinedH5186 their earH241 to turnH7725 from their wickednessH7451, to burn no incenseH6999 unto otherH312 godsH430. 6Wherefore my wrathH2534 and mine angerH639 wasH1961 pouredH5413 forth, and wasH1961 kindled in the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 and in the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is this dayH3117. 7ThereforeH6258 nowH6258 thusH3541 saith Jehovah, the GodH430 of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: Wherefore commit ye this greatH1419 evilH7451 against your own soulsH5315, to cutH3772 off from you manH376 and womanH802, infant and suckling, out of the midstH8432 of JudahH3063, to leaveH3498 you none remainingH3498; 8in that ye provokeH3707 me unto angerH3707 with the worksH4639 of your handsH3027, burning incenseH6999 unto otherH312 godsH430 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, whither ye are goneH935 to sojourn; that ye may beH1961 cutH3772 off, and that ye may beH1961 a curseH7045 and a reproachH2781 among all the nationsH1471 of the earthH776? 9Have ye forgottenH7911 the wickednessH7451 of your fathersH1, and the wickednessH7451 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063, and the wickednessH7451 of their wivesH802, and your own wickednessH7451, and the wickednessH7451 of your wivesH802, which they committed in the landH776 of JudahH3063, and in the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389? 10They are not humbled even unto this dayH3117, neither have they fearedH3372, nor walkedH1980 in my lawH8451, nor in my statutesH2708, that I setH5414 before you and before your fathersH1.
11ThereforeH3651 thusH3541 saith Jehovah of hostsH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478: Behold, I will setH7760 my faceH6440 against you for evilH7451, even to cutH3772 off all JudahH3063. 12And I will takeH3947 the remnantH7611 of JudahH3063, that have setH7760 their facesH6440 to goH935 into the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to sojourn there, and they shall all beH1961 consumed; in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 shall they fallH5307; they shall beH1961 consumed by the swordH2719 and by the famineH7458; they shall dieH4191, from the least even unto the greatestH1419, by the swordH2719 and by the famineH7458; and they shall beH1961 an execration, and an astonishment, and a curseH7045, and a reproachH2781. 13For I will punishH6485 them that dwellH3427 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, as I have punishedH6485 JerusalemH3389, by the swordH2719, by the famineH7458, and by the pestilenceH1698; 14so that none of the remnantH7611 of JudahH3063, that are goneH935 into the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to sojourn there, shall escapeH6412 or beH1961 left, to returnH7725 into the landH776 of JudahH3063, to which they have a desireH5315 to returnH7725 to dwellH3427 there: for none shall returnH7725 save such as shall escapeH6412.
