Jeremiah 44:2-14

2“ThisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 of armiesH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 saysH559: ‘You yourselvesH864 have seenH7200 allH3605 the disasterH7463 that I have broughtH935 on JerusalemH3389 and allH3605 the citiesH5892 of JudahH3063; and beholdH2009, thisH2088 dayH3117 they are in 1ruinsH2723 and noH369 oneH369 livesH3427 in them, 32becauseH4480H6440 of their wickednessH7463 whichH834 they committedH6213 to 3provokeH3707 Me toH3707 angerH3707 by continuingH1980 to 4burnH6999 5sacrificesH6999 and to 6serveH5647 otherH312 godsH430 whomH834 they had not knownH3045, neither they, you, norH3808 your fathersH1. 4Yet I 7sentH7971 you allH3605 My servantsH5650 the prophetsH5030 againH7925 and againH7971, sayingH559, “OhH4994, do not doH6213 thisH2088 8abominableH8441 thingH1697 whichH834 I hateH8130.” 5But 9they did not listenH8085 or inclineH5186 their earsH241 to turnH7725 from their wickednessH7463, so as not to burnH6999 10sacrificesH6999 to otherH312 godsH430. 6Therefore My 11wrathH2534 and My angerH639 gushedH5413 outH5413 and burnedH1197 in the 12citiesH5892 of JudahH3063 and in the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389, so they have becomeH1961 ruinsH2723 and a 13desolationH8077 as it is thisH2088 dayH3117. 7NowH6258 then, thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 GodH430 of armiesH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 saysH559: “WhyH4100 are you 14doingH6213 greatH1419 harmH7463 to yourselvesH5315, to 15eliminateH3772 from yourselves manH376 and womanH802, childH5768 and infantH3243 from amongH8432 JudahH3063, leavingH3498 yourselves withoutH1115 a remnantH7611, 816provokingH3707 Me toH3707 angerH3707 with the worksH4639 of your handsH3027, 17burningH6999 18sacrificesH6999 to otherH312 godsH430 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714 whereH834H8033 you are enteringH935 to resideH1481, soH4616 thatH4616 you may be eliminatedH3772 and becomeH1961 a 19curseH7045 and a disgraceH2781 among allH3605 the nationsH1471 of the earthH776? 9Have you forgottenH7911 the 20wickednessH7463 of your fathersH1, the wickednessH7463 of the kingsH4428 of JudahH3063 and the wickednessH7463 of their wivesH802, your own wickednessH7463 and the wickednessH7463 of your wivesH802, whichH834 they committedH6213 in the landH776 of JudahH3063 and in the streetsH2351 of JerusalemH3389? 10Yet they 21have not becomeH1792 22contriteH1792 even to thisH2088 dayH3117, norH3808 have they fearedH3372, norH3808 23walkedH1980 in My LawH8451 or My statutesH2708, whichH834 I placedH5414 beforeH6440 you and beforeH6440 your fathersH1.”’

11“ThereforeH3651 thisH3541 isH3541 whatH3541 the LordH3068 of armiesH6635, the GodH430 of IsraelH3478 saysH559: ‘BeholdH2009, I am going to 24setH7760 My faceH6440 against you for a disasterH7463, even to eliminateH3772 allH3605 JudahH3063. 12And I will 25takeH3947 away the remnantH7611 of JudahH3063 whoH834 have setH7760 their 26mindsH6440 on enteringH935 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to resideH1481 thereH8033, and they will allH3605 2728meetH8552 their endH8552 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714; they will fallH5307 by the swordH2719 or meetH8552 their endH8552 by famineH7458. From the smallH6996 to the greatH1419, they will dieH4191 by the swordH2719 and famineH7458; and they will becomeH1961 a 29curseH7045, an objectH8047 ofH8047 horrorH8047, 30an imprecationH7045, and a disgraceH2781. 13And I will 31punishH6485 those who liveH3427 in the landH776 of EgyptH4714, justH3512 asH3512 I have punishedH6485 JerusalemH3389, with the swordH2719, with famineH7458, and with plagueH1698. 14So there will be 32noH3808 survivorH6412 or refugeeH8300 for the remnantH7611 of JudahH3063 who have enteredH935 the landH776 of EgyptH4714 to resideH1481 thereH8033 and then to returnH7725 to the landH776 of JudahH3063, to whichH834 they are 3334longingH5375H5315 to returnH7725 to liveH3427; for noneH3808 will 35returnH7725 exceptH3588H518 a few refugeesH6412.’”
