23On that dayἡμέρᾳhēmeraG2250someSadduceesΣαδδουκαῖοιSaddoukaioiG4523(who sayλέγοντεςlegontesG3004there is noμὴmēG3361resurrectionἀνάστασινanastasinG386)cameπροσῆλθονprosēlthonG4334toJesus and questionedἐπηρώτησανepērōtēsanG1905Him,

24sayingλέγοντες·legontesG3004, “Teacherδιδάσκαλε,didaskaleG1320,MosesΜωϋσῆςMōusēsG3475saidG3004, ‘IfἐάνeanG1437a manτιςtisG5100diesἀποθάνῃapothanēG599havingἔχωνechōnG2192noμὴmēG3361childrenτέκνα,teknaG5043,his brotherἀδελφὸςadelphosG80asG1918nextG1918ofG1918kinG1918shall marryG1918his wifeγυναῖκαgunaikaG1135,and raiseἀναστήσειanastēseiG450upG450childrenσπέρμαspermaG4690for his brotherἀδελφῷadelphōG80.’

25NowδὲdeG1161there were sevenἑπτὰheptaG2033brothersἀδελφοί.adelphoiG80amongπαρ᾽par᾽G3844us; and the firstπρῶτοςprōtosG4413marriedγήμαςgēmasG1060and diedἐτελεύτησεν,eteleutēsenG5053,and havingἔχωνechōnG2192noμὴmēG3361childrenσπέρμαspermaG4690,he leftἀφῆκενaphēkenG863his wifeγυναῖκαgunaikaG1135to his brotherἀδελφῷadelphōG80.

26It wasthe sameὁμοίωςhomoiōsG3668alsoG2532withthe secondδεύτεροςdeuterosG1208brother,and the thirdτρίτοςtritosG5154,downG2193toG2193the seventhἑπτά.heptaG2033.

27LastG5305of allπάντωνpantōnG3956,the womanγυνή.gunēG1135diedἀπέθανενapethanenG599.

28In the resurrectionἀναστάσειanastaseiG386,thereforeοὖνounG3767,whoseτίνοςtinosG5101wifeγυνή;gunēG1135of the sevenἑπτὰheptaG2033will she be? For they allπάντεςpantesG3956hadἔσχονeschonG2192her in marriage.”

29But JesusἸησοῦςIēsousG2424answeredἈποκριθεὶςApokritheisG611and saidG3004to them,“You are mistakenπλανᾶσθεplanastheG4105, since you do notunderstandG3609the ScripturesγραφὰςgraphasG1124norμηδὲmēdeG3366the powerδύναμινdunaminG1411of Godθεοῦ.theouG2316.

30For in the resurrectionἀναστάσειanastaseiG386they neitherοὔτεouteG3777marryγαμοῦσινgamousinG1060norοὔτεouteG3777are givenG1061inG1061marriageγαμίζονταιgamizontaiG1061,but are likeὡςhōsG5613angelsἄγγελοιangeloiG32in heavenοὐρανῷouranōG3772.

31But regardingπερὶperiG4012the resurrectionἀναστάσεωςanastaseōsG386of the deadνεκρῶνnekrōnG3498,have you not readἀνέγνωτεanegnōteG314whatG3588was spokenλέγοντος·legontosG3004to you by GodθεοῦtheouG2316:

32‘I amG1510the GodθεὸςtheosG2316of AbrahamἈβραὰμAbraamG11,the GodθεὸςtheosG2316of IsaacἸσαὰκIsaakG2464,and the GodθεὸςtheosG2316of JacobἸακώβ;IakōbG2384’?He is not the GodθεὸςtheosG2316of the deadνεκρῶνnekrōnG3498,but of the livingζώντων.¶zōntōnG2198.”

33When the crowdsὄχλοιochloiG3793heardἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191this,they were astonishedἐξεπλήσσοντοexeplēssontoG1605at His teachingδιδαχῇdidachēaG1322.

34But when the PhariseesΦαρισαῖοιPharisaioiG5330heardἀκούσαντεςakousantesG191that Jesushad silencedἐφίμωσενephimōsenG5392the SadduceesΣαδδουκαίουςSaddoukaiousG4523,they gatheredσυνήχθησανsunēchthēsanG4863togetherἐπὶ αὐτό.epi autoG1909 G3588 G846.
