Mark 4:9-23

9And He was sayingἔλεγενelegenG3004, “He whoὃςhosG3739hasἔχειecheiG2192earsὦταōtaG3775to hearἀκούεινakoueinG191,let him hearἀκουέτω.¶akouetōG191.”

10As soonὅτεhoteG3753as He was aloneμόνας,monasG3441,His followersπερὶperiG3588 G4012,alongσὺνsunG4862with the twelveδώδεκαdōdekaG1427disciples, beganaskingἠρώτωνērōtōnG2065Him aboutthe parablesπαραβολάς.parabolasG3850.

11And He was sayingἔλεγενelegenG3004to them,“To you has been givenδέδοταιdedotaiG1325the mysteryμυστήριονmustērionG3466of the kingdomβασιλείαςbasileiasG932of Godθεοῦ,theouG2316, but forthoseἐκείνοιςekeinoisG1565who are outsideἔξωexōG1854,everythingπάνταpantaG3956comesγίνεταιginetaiG1096in parablesπαραβολαῖςparabolaisG3850,

12soἵναinaG2443thatG2443while seeingβλέποντεςblepontesG991they may seeβλέπωσινblepōsinG991,and not perceiveG3708,and while hearingἀκούοντεςakouontesG191,they may hearἀκούωσινakouōsinG191,and not understandσυνιῶσινsuniōsinG4920,otherwiseG3379they might returnἐπιστρέψωσινepistrepsōsinG1994and it would be forgivenἀφεθῇaphethēaG863them.”

13And He saidλέγειlegeiG3004to them,“Do you not understandG3609thisταύτην;tautēnG3778parableπαραβολὴνparabolēnG3850?HowπῶςpōsG4459will you understandγνώσεσθε;gnōsestheG1097allπάσαςpasasG3956the parablesπαραβολὰςparabolasG3850?

14The sowerσπείρωνspeirōnG4687sowsσπείρει.speireiG4687the wordλόγονlogonG3056.

15TheseοὗτοιhoutoiG3778are the ones whoG3588are besideπαρὰparaG3844the roadὁδὸνhodonG3598whereὅπουhopouG3699the wordλόγος,logosG3056is sownσπείρεταιspeiretaiG4687;and whenὅτανhotanG3752they hearἀκούσωσιν,akousōsinG191,immediatelyG2117SatanσατανᾶςsatanasG4567comesἔρχεταιerchetaiG2064and takesG142awayαἴρειaireiG142the wordλόγονlogonG3056which has been sownἐσπαρμένονesparmenonG4687in them.

16And in a similarG3668wayG3668theseοὗτοίhoutoiG3778are the ones sownσπειρόμενοι,speiromenoiG4687with seedon the rockyπετρώδηpetrōdēG4075places,whoοἳhoiG3739,whenὅτανhotanG3752they hearἀκούσωσινakousōsinG191the wordλόγον,logonG3056,immediatelyG2117receiveλαμβάνουσινlambanousinG2983it with joyχαρᾶςcharasG5479;

17and yetthey haveἔχουσινechousinG2192noοὐκoukG3756firmrootῥίζανrhizanG4491in themselvesἑαυτοῖςhe'autoisG1438, but are onlytemporaryπρόσκαιροίproskairoiG4340;thenεἶταeitaG1534,when afflictionθλίψεωςthlipseōsG2347orἢēG2228persecutionδιωγμοῦdiōgmouG1375occursγενομένηςgenomenēsG1096becauseδιὰdiaG1223of the wordλόγον,logonG3056,immediatelyG2117theyfallσκανδαλίζονται.skandalizontaiG4624awayG4624.

18And othersἄλλοιalloiG243are the ones sownσπειρόμενοι·speiromenoiG4687with seedamongεἰςeisG1519the thornsἀκάνθαςakanthasG173;theseοὗτοίhoutoiG3778are the ones who have heardἀκούσαντες,akousantesG191the wordλόγονlogonG3056,

19but the worriesμέριμναιmerimnaiG3308of theworldαἰῶνοςaiōnosG165, and thedeceitfulnessἀπάτηapatēG539of wealthπλούτουploutouG4149,and the desiresἐπιθυμίαιepithumiaiG1939for otherλοιπὰloipaG3062thingsG3062enterεἰσπορευόμεναιeisporeuomenaiG1531and chokeσυμπνίγουσινsumpnigousinG4846the wordλόγον,logonG3056, and itbecomesγίνεται.ginetaiG1096unfruitfulἄκαρποςakarposG175.

20And thoseἐκεῖνοίekeinoiG1565are the ones sownσπαρέντες,sparentesG4687with seedon the goodκαλὴνkalēnG2570soilγῆνgēnG1093;and they hearἀκούουσινakouousinG191the wordλόγονlogonG3056and acceptπαραδέχονταιparadechontaiG3858it andbearG2592fruitκαρποφοροῦσινkarpophorousinG2592,thirtyτριάκονταtriakontaG5144,sixtyἑξήκονταhexēkontaG1835,and a hundredἑκατόν.¶hekatonG1540times as much.”

21And He was sayingἔλεγενelegenG3004to them, “A lampλύχνοςluchnosG3088is not broughtἔρχεταιerchetaiG2064to be putτεθῇtethēaG5087underὑπὸhupoG5259abasketμόδιονmodionG3426,orἢēG2228underὑπὸhupoG5259a bedκλίνην;klinēnG2825, is it? Is it not broughtto be putτεθῇ;tethēaG5087on the lampstandλυχνίανluchnianG3087?

22For nothingοὐouG3756 G5100is hiddenκρυπτόνkruptonG2927,exceptἐὰν μὴean mēG1437 G3361to be revealedφανερωθῇ,phanerōthēaG5319;norοὐδὲoudeG3761has anythingbeenἐγένετοegenetoG1096secretἀπόκρυφονapokruphonG614,but that it would comeἔλθῃelthēG2064to lightφανερόν.phaneronG5318.

23IfεἴeiG1487anyoneτιςtisG5100hasἔχειecheiG2192earsὦταōtaG3775to hearἀκούεινakoueinG191,let him hearἀκουέτω.¶akouetōG191.”
